A forum to use

all pro-survivors are welcome to use the allied section for planning against the big bash, in the red cresent research facility forums. Were a new group not ready yet to recruit and decided to donate the unused (as of yet) forum to this cause until ready. Your friend the G-Man.

All Saints Day Invasion

On November 1st (12pm EST). A group of survivors will run against the horde and try to secure key buildings in Lockettside. This is a rebuild/rescue mission for the suburb. A large group is organizing around the Hopping Road (20, 95) and Stockman Walk (22, 95) Police departments in Spicer Hills. The objective of the invasion is to secure and restore St. Alexander's hospital [20, 80], Knapp Boulevard Police Department [18, 81], and The Cheeke Building (an NT facility) [19, 82]. Because the Big Bash is not an organized group, the invasion plans are open to the public. Read the full invasion plan.

Howdy, Podners. Evils Presley with The Dribbling Beavers from Santlerville calling. We and a contingent of allies are coming down to assist with the retaking / rebuilding of Lockettside. We'd been following the Bash and around doing the same since they started but had to take a short detour and are now coming back after them. We are sincerely interested in working with whomever is involved, so if somebody can tell me which groups or people are involved that I should get in touch with, that would be supreme. You can contact me at our message board HERE. Thanks a mil...Evils Presley 18:19, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't go to Lockettside. The Bash won't be there you'll just be rebuilding like everyone else in the previous suburbs. Instead cut them off. Defend a suburb that hasn't been hit yet. Can u imagine the steam the Bash would lose if they couldn't just walk through a town? If it took them more than 3 days to wipe somewhere out? don't send so many survivors into a dead suburb. Send it to one which is still alive and worth saving. And maybe if you can hold them reinforcments will come from neighboring suburbs. All I'm saying is that as survivors a rescue mission would hold more meaning if it meant rescueing another suburb from falling to the Bash rather than cleaning up the mess they leave behind.--Rico Montoya 00:16, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Bad idea. Seriously... You might be able to slow down the horde a little, but so what? Let's just assume you DO slow it down a little bit... Well, that gives zombies more time to concentrate their forces, and also the chance to attract more ferals to help. Trying to stand directly against a large horde is suicide unless the survivors have an overwhelming numerical advantage -- hence did River Tactics develop. There ARE ways to fight the horde, but full frontal suicide is not one of them. Not trying to be a jerk at ALL... but seriously, when will the bulk of the survivor population come to realise and accept this fact? If you want to stand your ground and defend against the horde straight-on for the sake of fun, no problem, cool! But do not try to pretend it is good strategy, because it is not. --WanYao 21:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
WanYao, you keep saying that a frontal assault won't work. So? I for one have an entirely different approach in mind, but am waiting to attract more interest in this forum and perhaps hearing better ideas before suggesting mine. But rest assured that a frontal assault is not at all what I am considering. --Richardhg 04:26, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Tompson Mall

The zombies attacking Tompson Mall (as of this posting at least) aren't with the Bash. Tompson is currently fighting zombies from the LUE. As to why the Bash walked on past, that's anyone's guess. Personally I like to think they didn't want to steal LUE's kill. --Uncle Bill 05:53, 25 October 2007 (BST)

Isn't LUE one of the groups listed as taking part in the Bash? Mind you, that doesn't make you any less right, nor does it necessarily mean they're planning on wandering off with the Bash when it leaves the area! --Richardhg 06:37, 25 October 2007 (BST)
Presumably both LUE and the Bash will be attacking Tompson togther in the very near future, now that the Bash has come to Ruddlebank. The defence of the Mall does not seem to have been seriously tested by LUE alone, but if in conjunction with the Bash it will be another matter.--Sparticles 08:05, 27 October 2007 (BST)
Right. LUE came in and poked around a bit, killed some people, then left when it turned out the Bash was still heading west instead of south. I don't think we even touched the mall so I have no idea who Tompson is dealing with.--Insomniac By Choice 08:44, 27 October 2007 (BST)
The Big Bash is not an organised horde; it is more like an event. Certainly there are levels, sects, cells and clumps of organisation within its ranks. And there is leadership. Nominally... But in reality the Bash is basically a loose collection of organised hordes (including but not only LUE), independents and taggers-along, all working towards the same broad goal: trashing suburbs and killing survivors. Lots of them. --WanYao 09:44, 27 October 2007 (BST)

We need to organize against the Big Bash before they turn the whole map either orange or red. And they can do it seeing as everyone sees them coming and run to the next town and wait to run again. We need a call to go out. All human groups and survivors need to send troops down to a central area that is at least decently safe. From there this "human horde" will intercept the Big Bash and hold that area. If the bashers decide to try to go around not only will it deal a blow to their morale it will waste their AP and allow the humans to enter their next target and stop them there as the area will only be a suburb away. I feel that using this we can annoy them enough that the Big Bash will scatter as the individual groups will feel better following their own agendas.--Rico Montoya 06:31, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Ridiculous

With the momentum that the Bash has gathered it is pretty stupid to put it like "Survivors vs The Second Big Bash". I do not think that survivors can do anything about it (other than flow into the void - which accidentally is the most reasonable thing to do). -- John RubinT! ZG FER 14:52, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Oddly enough, I disagree, for 3 reasons:
  1. Survivors can slow the Zombie momentum by thinning out the horde. Now this can't be done by eliminating them, but it can be done by slowing sections of them down so that they cannot attack in a single mass as they have done so far. This would require coordination of many Survivor groups which would need a central communication forum. That's the motivation for making this page. Overly ambitious perhaps, but what's the point of playing the game and not trying to do something interesting?
  2. Vacating areas as zombies enter will simply let them raze buildings faster and set up the Zombie Barricade Plan that exists in Ridleybank, enforced by the RRF, which has apparently made that suburb a place where no sane Survivor would sleep.
  3. If Survivors do nothing but run away from the slower Zombies, Urban Dead would quickly become a very boring game. For everyone.
The thing I actually like about the 2nd Big Bash is that it gives Zombies something to do and Survivors something to respond to: ie. it adds to the fun. So for now I will continue to do what I can to promote a worthy Survivor response. --Richardhg 15:59, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
The zombies cannot be challenged head on, won't work. But I think you know that already. Also, I sincerely doubt you will be able to slow down or disperse the feral swarm surrounding the Bash that much. But there are other ways to slow down the horde's progress, and minimise its damage... Problem is, survivors are stubbornly fractious beasts, often to the point of absurdity, I have found this out the hard way. Which is why we say long live the New Flesh, join your zambah zethren and embrace true freedom! ;) Anyway, try talking to the Cannonball Crew, I know they were forming a coalition of other groups to fight the horde. Not sure who else, though. Best of luck! Because zombies love opposing SMART survivors, and smart survivors enjoy finding like-minded comrades to oppose the horde with, for they are rare. Cheers! Wow

Wow...you're gay. --Sonny Corleone RRF DORIS CRF pr0n 03:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Um, sorry to disappoint you, but flattering as your interest in my sexuality may be, it is not reciprocated. --Richardhg 04:30, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
What a long-winded way to say, "no u".--Insomniac By Choice 05:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh! the repartee! I am slain by your wits, over and over! And Sonny.... you remind me of this (read the graffiti): I mean, if the trenchcoat fits... Seriously, Sonny, leave the trolling for Darkmagic. --WanYao 09:24, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh snap! He told you Sonny! --DonTickles 22:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Seriously... I **want** the greater survivor community to use smarter tactics. And to move away from overly trenchcoaty ways. That makes it more fun for EVERYONE. Sure, trash talking is fun, and in-game there is lots of room for that... But lowering oneself to the basest level of one's opponent... well... meh. --WanYao 02:19, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Kinch Heights Defense

The wiki news section from Kinch Heights said to check here for planning the defense... so ummm, where's it at...? Maybe I can start us off on our defensive planning. All humans should gather outside at Pilcher Avenue, bring BBQ sauce and begin marinating yourselves until the zombie hordes show up. I personally really like Bullseye BBQ sauce, but others have their own preferences, so bring a variety. Bring refreshments and some side items as well. Once the feast is over it my advice to to forget about the mrh? for a while and embrace the barhah. It is the only path to true happiness. There you go, a perfect defense! Now get to work marinating! --DonTickles 22:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Snicker... But all seriousness aside... :P ... I don't know what your defensive plans are, but something to check out is the Combat section of this guide... There are some very good ideas there about how to deal with the mega-horde without just dying in droves, or just running away like a coward... ;) Good luck! --WanYao 02:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
