Talk:The Great Suburb Group Massacre/2009

Template

Good work getting this up and running. It does seem like a lot of work though. Perhaps after all the suburbs have been cleaned up initially, some sort of system could be introduced similar to the recruitment page, where if a group listed on the page isn't timestamped regularly it gets automatically removed?

Anyway, perhaps this template needs rewording.

Stop hand.png Group Active? Request.
In order to maintain the wiki as an up to date source of information groups are occasionally removed from the Suburb pages when they are no longer active. Is this group still active? If so simply confirm here by writing something below. If not it will be removed from suburb pages in 14 days.

Rather than just asking if they are still active, we could ask if they are still active in the actual suburbs they may be listed in. Many groups move around quite often -- boxy talki 10:37 13 July 2008 (BST)

Now that we've got the first pass done, is the Category:Group Active? that's associated with this template still necessary? --Pedentic 04:10, 20 August 2008 (BST)

Table Of Groups

A table listing groups, with columns for which suburbs they are listed on would probably be better than a by-suburb list. This would need more work to set up (and I don't blame you for sorting by suburb, it makes sense to start by checking each suburb page) by I imagine would reduce work in the long run. Plus you could keep timestamps here too. Similar to the List of Revivification Points system I guess. List the group, suburbs they are listed on, their current activity (Active, Possibly Inactive, Recently Removed) and a timestamp. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 18:23, 14 July 2008 (BST)

Eventually I will, but I reckon that for a clearing house excercise this is the easiest way to start.
For instance Looking at histories, wiki edits, the stats page, forums ect, Im going to be wiping every single group of Dentonside. This first run is going to be stripping away a lot of groups (Some from 2005!) Afterwards I will completely revamp the system though. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:34, 14 July 2008 (BST)
You're quiet right, no point populating a table with stuff that's going to get dumped straight off the bat. Can't believe nobody that inactive from '05 were on the lists though, that's pretty extreme. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 19:14, 14 July 2008 (BST)
You'd be amazed at the detritus im finding. At the opposite end of the scale, Galbraith Hills. 2 groups. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:16, 14 July 2008 (BST)
Great work guys! Good Luck!!! Hey rooster, you should make an app that clears groups from the suburb list for them... This is a great cleaning project. btw rooster, hope there are no hard feelings on me not supporting your sysop campaign... know that in a couple of months when you've gotten some salt I will be behind you 120% --Marty Banks (aka. Millett Walk Fire Department in Spracklingbank

Hi, I noticed you left a query on our talk page asking us to verify that we're still active, and yes, we are indeed! =) (I replied in the affirmative on the talk page, too.)--Elizabeth Bickell 03:21, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Reply from Phoenix Division

We are no longer currently active in Pitney bank I have 1 or 2 scouts out there but no operations so the removal would be appreciated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ORCACommander (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.

OK. You'll be crossed off the list when I check back in 2 weeks. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 23:18, 21 July 2008 (BST)

Suggestion

For the suburbs that are done (queried and checked) could a strikethrough be used on the suburb name instead of all that text? I think it would make the page easier to read. Thoughts? --Pedentic 03:25, 31 July 2008 (BST)

good point. Ill look at changing today. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:24, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Darn...

So much for working overtime today...There's no more suburbs to run through...Damn Summer school... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:00, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Department of Emergency Management

The MFU and MPD are still active in those suburbs. Do you want to know why you didn't get a response? Due to general hostilities, many DEM members avoid the wiki like the plague. As I have said a few times now, you would be much better off contacting us on the forum.--Labine50 MEMS | MHG 22:06, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Hey, it's cool- we can re-add stuff! Thanks for the work, guys (although I'm a bit surprised that you though it likely that the DEM was inactive).--FT MCI 02:03, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Malton's Angels

Hello dear sir, We in the angels are really more of a seasonal group. We've known each other since the 90's, and attend colleges across the nation....the summer is really our time to meet in person. Now that the season of education is upon us once more, we're ready to return to scarletwood. PadreRomero 14:15, 26 August 2008 (BST)
