Firefox 3.5

As this seems to be abandonware, to get it working with the newest version of Firefox, got to your firefox folder and go into the extensions folder. On my computer it is {7BC5A936-2E6F-4d8a-BAB5-77C555E0AD71}. Replace the text of the install.rdf file with the following:

Restart Firefox, if it still does not work, make a backup copy of the UDTool Bar folder ( {7BC5A936-2E6F-4d8a-BAB5-77C555E0AD71} ) and uninstall and restart Firefox. Copy your backed up folder back to the extensions folder and, once again, restart Firefox. This should force a reread of the install.rdf file which now tells it that this extension is compatible with Firefox 3.5.X versions.

Additionall, I guess you could try putting a huge number in there to stave off this problem either indefinitely or until or until Firefox is sufficiently modified to break this extension. If anyone has any questions about the above, feel free to contact me on my talk page. --Damocles S Talk OM&HD 02:24, 3 July 2009 (BST)

Easier way

Am in no way claiming credit for this, but this is a fixed version that works with Firefox 3.5.x. Easier to use as you just download it and it works. I tried to do it your way Damocles but I kept getting errors. Hope you don't mind me editing your post either. Just click the blue [1] and allow it. [1] --Aidan Benet 16:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

FireFox 3.0.1?

I've just installed the newest version of FireFox (3.0.1) and it appears that the UDToolbar isn't compatible with this version (yet). Does anyone know if there's going to be a new version of the Toolbar? --XterrorX 21:36, 21 July 2008 (BST)

It works for me. --Quicksivlerzxc 05:54, 13 August 2008 (BST)
Problem fixed. Just had to install newest version. -_-' --XterrorX 22:39, 15 August 2008 (BST)
The latest version that you refer to is 59b, why isn't it mentioned in the wiki? Who updates this and do they need help? --Quicksilverzxc 17:25, 16 August 2008 (BST)

Graphic Missing for Buildings \ Future Ruined Building Graphics

I could show screen shots, but this is obviously a known issue as in the source code, in the file SRC/Skins/mapGraphics.css we have:

td.c24 /*Cathedral*/ { background-image: url('chrome://udtoolbar/skin/images/map/x.gif'); }

Where x.gif is the "we don't have a picture for this" graphic. Repeat for animal pens, power stations, and fort, though I can only confirm that in game cathedrals have this image, since forts do have a unique graphic for all nine blocks. What I am really asking is where in the source repository are these graphics? The only visible root folders are downloads/ SRC/ and www/. This info would also help any aspiring graphic designers/programmers that may want to contribute. --Quicksilverzxc 17:39, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Attacking

1)I can't attack anybody (it's not in "Possible Actions") and 2)there's a partly filled yellow bar right below the quick look at the inventory. Why won't it show an attack button and what is the bar? Ponda Baba 21:43, 1 July 2007 (BST)

I know you've worked it out (as you said below), but just for visitors who may come later later, you mouseover on the targets name, and the attack/heal/DNA extract/revive options drop down -- boxy T Nuts2U DA 14:06, 3 July 2007 (BST)

Yellow Bar

Nevermind about 1, I figured it out, but I still don't know what the yellow bar is. Ponda Baba 21:47, 1 July 2007 (BST)
Here's a screenie UDtoolbar yellow bar.JPG Ponda Baba 22:51, 1 July 2007 (BST)
That shows your encumbrance level. Problem is, I don't think there's been an update to the toolbar since the Urban Dead encumbrance system changed from slots to percentages... so it doesn't give an accurate level anymore (on my version anyway) -- boxy T Nuts2U DA 14:02, 3 July 2007 (BST)
Ok, thanks! It does show the slots occupied (counted the inventory) Ponda Baba 21:34, 4 July 2007 (BST)

Firefox 2.0?

Does the toolbar work with Firefox 2.0? --JohnRubin 15:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

The "Dev Build" on the install page does, but versions below 0.55 do not. --sluutthefeared 13:02, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I've got firefox 2.0 with version 0.56 UDtoolbar working on it. Can't seem to find where to drop stuff though -- boxy T L PA DA 04:21, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Just hit the little red X in the corner of the item's image.

thanks

Thank you for this tool. I love it and can't stand playing UD without it.-- Cheeser, DvB|DA  21:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Love it, but maybe you should put that only the dev mode works with 2.0? It confused me, and I'm lucky I found this page. --Peterblue 00:37, 3 April 2007 (BST)

I agree, took me awhile to figure it out, and yeah, its great.--Pharo2i2 01:03, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Question, has anyone implemented when lights are on in building the windows on the graphics are yellow or something? -- Delt 3:52 May 16, 2007 (EST)

Yes, that's been done long time ago. The button/title of the building has a yellow tint to it. -Mark D. Stroyer SoH 01:24, 22 May 2007 (BST)

I was so disheartened at the labeled box layout of UrbanDead without this tool, but this makes it feel so much more like your there. Kevan should link to this wiki at account creation, this makes it so much more fun. --Quicksivlerzxc 06:13, 13 August 2008 (BST)

Idea for encumberance.

Here's a suggestion to update the slot system. Instead of showing the old slots, update them so each 2% encumberance shows a slot, similar to the radio, shotgun, and pistol of old. So a fire axe and shotgun spans three slots, a pistol two, a FAK 1, and so on. Simply remove the 51st slot, and it will be perfect. Also, you may want to display the encumberance amount on the inventory pop-up, rather than the bottom of the screen. -Mark D. Stroyer SoH 22:14, 7 April 2007 (BST)

Stylesheets

How exactly is a stylesheet made, and where can I find some? --Pharo2i2 20:21, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Still in development?

It's been a while since the last dev build or stable release of UDToolbar. There's a few tweaks that could be done to the code again, such as adding the Toolbox item. --Schloss Ritter 19:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Different graphics for ruined / plain / powered buildings

I believe it would do wonders for the "the feeling of being there" (what is the word?) if there was different underlying graphics for ruined, normal and powered buildings, rather than just different colored labels. Yes, I know it is a huge work, and no, I'm not volunteering... --Per Abrahamsen 17:28, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Scent Death

I don't think that orange/red box next to a human's name hardly hints at wounded/dying. Maybe a small <25 / <13 graphic? --Quicksivlerzxc 07:50, 27 August 2008 (BST)

Firefox 3.6

Is anyone else having a problem using 59b with Firefox 3.6? Should I just get an older Firefox version? --Axoc 21:20, 30 January 2010 (CST)

I'm having the same issue. I can't even install because it is not compatible. --Bosqo 21:20, 14 February 2010 (CST)

Bug Reporting

Pop up menus

When I try to mouse over player names, the menu of options shows up, but there seems to be a small space between the player name and box so that when I try to move my mouse over, the box disappears unless I move my mouse VERY quickly. This might have something to do with me running it in on Firefox 3 on a mac, but all the other pop up boxes have correct spacing and don't cause problems. Also, the pop up for mall shops gets cut off so that you can only see the first letter of the shop... --Quicksivlerzxc 06:05, 13 August 2008 (BST)

Miscounting survivors.

The tool seems to add an extra survivor to the count when a dead body is on your contacts list, as see here, here, and here.--FT MCDU: Black Knights 06:51, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Does it for zombies too, it increases on the number of contacts, also with UDWidget it reads double. Probably because it counts based on linkable profiles or something.--Karekmaps?! 09:25, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I doubt that it would. Because of zombie anonymity, it probably just takes the count of zombies that the game gives it, rather than tallying the count up itself. It might add to the survivor count if a standing zombie were on your contacts list... but I haven't observed any funny stuff with zombies. I'll keep my eyes open.--FT MCDU: Black Knights 22:40, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Binocular Problems

The nine square map viewed with Binoculars often displays the incorrect map coordinates. Also, it intermitently incorrectly displays the survivor/zombie count. -- Cheeser, DvB|DA  21:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Chevrons Glitch in Developer Version

I am using the latest developer version and I can't use the chevrons to access the other inventory items when the graphics inventory option is enabled.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 22:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Do you have any other extensions or GreaseMonkey scripts installed? I'm unsure of any that cause that specific problem but I would suspect that's the cause. --Sluutthefeared 10:51, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for getting back late I forgot about this and it doesn't matter as It has already been addressed. its conflict with inventory combiner--Th orcaavatar2.pngORCACommander GDI-P UDA | CNC Modder 18:24, 18 August 2007 (BST)

Unable to move into some buildings.

Recently I've been unable to move into certain buildings when UDToolbar is installed. The buildings are shown on the map with a different coloured button to the others, and clicking on it has no effect. This problem only appeared after the August 14th game update so I strongly suspect that the affected buildings are those that have been ruined by zombies. Hope this can be fixed ASAP so I can continue using UDToolbar! --IMacThere4iAm 16:02, 14 August 2007 (BST)

They are ruined buildings.--Karekmaps?! 23:27, 14 August 2007 (BST)
I've been able to move into ruined buildings--Th orcaavatar2.pngORCACommander GDI-P UDA | CNC Modder 18:27, 18 August 2007 (BST)
Make sure you're clicking on the names, not the images, since I'm in an almost completely ruined suburb and I'm moving fine.--Pharo2i2 00:51, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
That was an old bug, it's already been dealt with. --Karekmaps?! 01:03, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Display errors

When your inside a fort structure such as the armory the graphic disappears and it becomes brown instead. A similar thing happens when your inside a ruined building--Th orcaavatar2.pngORCACommander GDI-P UDA | CNC Modder 18:27, 18 August 2007 (BST)

Error? Wow I thought that was a feature or something to tell you your inside.

Im in Locketside, its been ruined by the big bash. kinda boring for a zombie, but I got a skill by eating a zombie in a mall.--Pharo2i2 00:56, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Able to attack the lights of a mobile-phone mast

This one appeared way back when Christmas lights were added as valid targets, but I didn't think of posting it here until now. Attacking the "lights" at a mobile phone mast triggers the "They are already dead" response, since you are attacking an invalid target. The plugin just looks for the word "lights" when designating pop-up menus, but this could be easily fixed by changing the code to look for "Christmas lights". --Schloss Ritter 19:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Graphic error when near or in Power Stations

When he moved to an adjacent block, the graphic turned into This

Graphic error for items

I picked up a golf club, but the graphic is a cricket bat. Wicket club.jpg --Quicksivlerzxc 17:35, 17 August 2008 (BST)

It's called a cricket bat lol, and who cares? It's a useless item once you pass level 2.--xoxo 05:29, 30 September 2008 (BST)
