Description

Nurse Bopp lived in the pink house. Roftwood's Sage Building is in the background.

A colorful row of terraced houses. Many of the internal walls have been knocked down, to make a single building, and makeshift towers have been added to the rooftops so that survivors can monitor zombie activity.

History

A patient's sketch of Nurse Bopp.

The Betty Building is the former home of Nurse Betty Bopp, who spent over 25 years caring for patients suffering from sub-cranial necrosis at the neighboring Lorenzo General Hospital. Despite the hopelessness of most of the cases she was involved in, she was universally loved for her cheerful spirit, big soulful eyes, and her readiness to burst into song at a moment's notice - all of which helped to cheer her patients' final hours as they sank into an agonizing death.

Nurse Bopp also helped her patients to maintain their physical and mental skills for as long as possible, despite the ravages of their illness. By encouraging them to read, listen to classical music (especially Beethoven), and take care of themselves (eg by shaving themselves), Nurse Bopp conclusively proved that even advanced cases could lead a somewhat independent life before the necrosis became terminal.

Tragically, Nurse Bopp herself succumbed to an infectious case of sub-cranial necrosis in late 2004, after being bitten by one of her charges. She died at home after a brief but painful illness. Her last words were, "Boop boop-be-doop," indicating a total loss of mental function.
