Description

The Biggs Arms is a small student bar located in the suburb of Pescodside. The Biggs Arms is the oldest student-run bar in Malton and is a favorite gathering for students at Couch Boulevard School, or at least among those who are old enough to drink. Founded in 1957, it was named after the school's most famous wrestling champion at the time, Jacob "Iron Arms" Biggs, with students mixing the name around to end up with the "Biggs Arms". Since Jacob's family was Mexican the students decided to give the bar a Mexican theme. The bar has always been located on Foulkes Street across from St. Bartholomew's Hospital, where the student bartenders would serve drinks to the depressed patients coming from and going to the hospital.

At various points in its existence the Biggs Arms has been faced criticism and censure for the sometimes uninhibited behavior of certain Couch Boulevard students, including temporary closings and the installation of an alcoholic beverage "cage" where over-intoxicated students were placed to "sleep it off". Members of the P.T.A. questioned whether the rising alcoholism among the students was worth the life experience the students were gaining. To this day successive parents of the students attending the school had yet to provide a unanimous decision either way. After the "Malton Incident" though the matter was resolved as the pub is certainly no longer run by students, but rather by survivors.

While survivors will find little shelter in the bar itself, due mostly to its open-street design, but they are fortunate in that the adjoining building is also open to them. This building served as the bar's office and storage area for their liquor. With a solid metal door survivors find that staying the night inside the building a much safer alternative to the exposed bar.

Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, was spotted sipping a beer at the pub on a few separate occasions. When challenged to a drinking competition though Caleb is always ready to accept, and is almost always the first to drop. Not that his apparent losing streak has done anything to dampen his thirst for a good beer every now and then.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or a vigilante-minded survivor who catches the culprit in the act. If this happens the accused survivor must present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.
