Basic Info:

  • Office buildings owned by the company often associated with the zombie outbreak. From the outside, they are indistinguishable from other buildings, but characters with the NecroTech Employment skill are able to recognise them.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in NecroTech Buildings:
The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories."
  • If a generator is running inside the building:
"The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms."
  • NecroTech offices are tall enough for survivors to commit suicide from. They also provide a vantage point from which binoculars can be used.
  • Necrotech Buildings can be barricaded normally.

Description

Necrotech

The Carlyle Building is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of Rhodenbank. While normally staffed by scientists from NecroTech, this particular facility is controlled by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps, a survivor group with the interests of the entire suburb always in mind. As the RCDC group is a member of the Dulston Alliance sometimes other survivors from associated member groups can also be found at this location. Members of project NecroWatch renovated the facility in recent months, as they installed sensor eyes for A.L.I.C.E. throughout the building and uploaded NecroNet 2.0 into the facility's system terminals.

Mandate

NecroTech staff continue to follow Directive 42-A, issued by the head office on January 19th 2006, with the activation and manufacture of MK-II revivification syringes. They have been charged with governing the Orome Avenue (82,4) revivification zone and seeing to the restoration of life to all zombies located therein.

Orome Avenue is one of the RCDC's main revive points within the suburb. It is suggested that scientists and other NecroTech personnel use this building to restock on revive syringe supplies.

The activation of NecroNet with all NecroTech buildings has also allowed scientists to apply the DNA tracking research they have gathered to date. Standard protocol dictates that all staff be equipped with a standard issue DNA Extractor to tag any zombies they come across during field research.

NecroNet Reports

Zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Carlyle Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot). Out of respect for the Dulston Alliance and the continued work of Caleb Usher to secure the NE corner, Liberal Pi and his associate Ottari issue Necronet reports from this building as an early warning system to survivors dwelling in the safest corner of Malton.

Barricade Policy

This building is a part of the Rhodenbank Highway, a series of buildings that are always Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded so that inexperienced survivors without the Free Running skill will still be able to find a series of adjacent safehouses that they can enter while traveling through the suburb. This is in accordance with the suburb barricade plan enforced by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps.

If the building is ever under attack from five or more zombies only then are survivors granted permission to barricade beyond Very Strongly, but only until the threat has passed. Survivors are warned that all members of the RCDC who find the barricades raised higher than Very Strongly have the right to lower them if there is no immediate threat to the building at that time.

Current Events

December 9th, 2008 - Rotten Ray, Meatball Surgeon of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the facility was ruined. There were 2 zombies inside, along with 2 corpses in the lobby. Another 4 zombies were spotted staggering around outside the building.

December 7th, 2008 - Carlyle Building has been breached with D.I.T.P.S reporting 3 zombies inside.

Update: D.I.T.P.S reported there are 6 zombies outside of Carlyle NT and another 4 now inside, including one of the Alliance's favorite shambling targets, He's dead Jim.
Update: Rotten Ray of the D.I.T.P.S reported that the Carlyle Building has been overrun. Those survivors who did not escape are zombie chow. Survivors who did manage to escape either fled south to the nearby Gable Walk Fire Station or north to the Wallbutton Building, both of which were still barricaded and in survivor hands.

December 6th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that there were no zombies outside this building.

December 5th, 2008 - Operatives from the Dulston Alliance reported that efforts to reclaim the Carlyle facility were successful. At this time the Alliance is working to strengthen its foothold along the border with Dulston where large groups of feral zombies still roam in the aftermath of the invasion by the Militant Order of Barhah.

September 5th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon, as part of a tour of eastern Rhodenbank, reported that the facility was ruined.

May 15th, 2008 - According to the External Military Channel (frequency: 25.96) the Carlyle building lies in ruins and so does most of the neighborhood.--XterrorX 19:12, 15 May 2008 (GMT+2)

March 28th, 2008 - Just received a radio report stating 21 zombies have entered the building.--TMD 03:17, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

March 27th, 2008 - Despite quite alot of zombies running around this suberb this individual building looks safe, updated danger level. --Pvt human 12:56, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

March 24th, 2008 - I just broke in, i'm a rehabilitated rotter killed by BB2. I mean you no harm. --DarkNathanias

February 21st, 2008 - One zombie inside and ruined. 15 zombies are waiting for revives at Orome. --Austonst

January 5th, 2008 - The building is powered and barricaded. A NecroNet scan indicates there are 34 zombies in the immediate area, but most are scattered (largest mob has 5 zombies) and only 1 zombie is currently outside this building.

September 30th, 2007 - All appears safe and the building is powered. There are still revive services at Orome Avenue. --Afterdeath

June 21st, 2007 - Accredited Zombiologist, Liberal Pi, has worked hard to reestablish NecroNet scanning services for survivors in Rhodenbank and over the past few days the scanning system does appear to have been restored. Public reports are now being issued by Liberal Pi, while noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher reports on the building status. As of today the suburb appears quiet with only 5 zombies within scanning range, with only two of those outside the Whitlock Building over in Dulston.

September 8th, 2006 - As ancient evils like Stench and Tymbrwlf awaken themselves from hibernation, the zombies lurch into the Carlyle and Bridgman NecroTech buildings only to find a tiny handful of lab supervisors. The Minions of the Apocalypse smashed the buildings in rage and then moved on.
