Graffiti referring to the Gingerbread Men has been spotted in parts of Ridleybank, mostly in the east of the suburb. The group has ties to the original [[Council of Leaders (original)|Council of Leaders]], with several members of the CoL in the group. They have been working alongside many other human groups such as the [[Ridleybank Reclamation Forces]], the [[RCDC]], the [[DEM]], and [[Liberation of Crossman Department]], and have been working very closely with the [[Ridleybank Liberation Army]] - an offshoot of the [[Caiger Mall Survivors]] whom members of the Gingerbread Men were previously helping. As survivor intent to drive the zombies out of Ridleybank has begun to grow following the [[Siege of Caiger Mall]], various zombie groups have begun to converge on Ridleybank in an effort to keep the suburb a zombie haven. This makes the already-daunting task of clearing out the suburb much more difficult. The [[RRF]], to whom Ridleybank is a home base, seem unwilling to let anything drive them from the suburb. The Gingerbread Men are said to have a great respect for the [[RRF]] (which is reciprocated), but are not ready to join the ranks of the undead just yet. === Ram Rock Ed First and The Origins of The Gingerbread Men - A Brief Summary; Historical Events === Ram Rock Ed First: Original leader of [[The Head Hunters]] who came into being concurrently with [[Axes High]] as part of that organisation, but which split off due to accepting people who had gun skills and forsook ranged weapons for glorious close combat. The Head Hunters merged with [[Clan l2k]] to form [[The Gingerbread Men]] under the joint leadership of Ram Rock Ed First - and l2k Olhado. Both l2k Olhado and Ram Rock Ed First under the alt name of Von Luthius (also an ingame Character within Malton) were members of the Second Generation of Councillors for [[Council of Leaders (original)]] and to all intents and purposes are still members of that particular incarnation of the CoL. Members from [[The League of Extraordinary Mordheimers]] - one of the Original Survivor Groups recognised on the Original Unofficial UD Forums and allied to The Original Council of Leaders, now inactive as a group - based in Billet Row School in East Becktown, and under the leadership of Ram's 3rd alt Squidgey, merged with The Gingerbread Men on their formation to help counter DARIS - the [[Democratic Armed Republic of Independent Suburbs]] as a military wing of The Original CoL. As plans of a counter to DARIS failed to be executed to avoid political upheaval and hypocrisy towards the Original CoL due to a rise of the so called New or Neo-CoL, The Gingerbread Men became more and more separated and independant. The Group became famous in late 2005 as a group that assaulted Ridleybank and Stayed within the Suburb to fight the hoards of the [[Ridleybank Resistance Front]], as opposed to cowardly attacking and fleeing outside the suburbs confines. This culminated in the Candyland Operation which saw a complete barricading of the entire suburb of Ridleybank to EHB barring 6 entry points at VSB+2 within 10 minutes by 46 Survivors under the Gingerbread Man Alliance Tag. Whilst more then 30 members were original Gingerbread Men, the remaining members were made up of [[Creedy Defense Force]] recruits that pn DoubleDown - the then acting commander of the CDF whilst Cowboy bebop moved house across state in the U.S.A. - had sent to help out. Whilst this seemed a blessing at the time, these members also left the confines of Ridleybank, now The Candyland, and fractured friendly relations with The RRF, as we were seen to have gone back on our word of staying exclusively within the confines of the Suburb. Concurrent to the Barricade run of the candyland Operation was the Civic Beautification Project which transformed the suburb of Ridleybank into The Candyland, via a complete Spray Paint campaign inside and outside of the buildings and open area's of the suburb of Ridleybank. The aim to stay alive and hold a prescence within Ridleybank for a full month lasted for 16 straight days before boredom at repetitive Barricading and Revival of fallen members became too much, and an early retirement was made. Up to this point No Members of a Survivor Group had survived for so long within the confines of Ridleybank, and neither had a group managed to strike such a blow against the RRF as to Barricade up the entire suburb whilst zombies were present within the suburb, nor survive for such a long time. After the 16 days had elapsed and hundreds of Survivors had flocked to the area to join in the Survival that the GBM had demonstrated was possible despite the fact that originally The RRF Ridleybank Defense Forces were the only zombies present (making the GBM and RRF presence within the first day's roughly equal, but sky rocketting on both sides thereafter), The Gingerbread Men split into The Gingerbread Men - those GBM wanting to stay alive and keep the GBM active non-stop, and [[The Gingerbraaains]] under Ram Rock Ed First's direction and leadership. Prior to Operation Candyland and The Civic Beautification Project, The Gingerbread Men hosted The First Annual Gingerbread Men/Zombie Fishbake within the confines of The Malton City Zoo, inside of the Aquarium. With both Zombies and Survivors partying for a week straight in early 2006 before the Ridleybank Assault and Survival, much fun was had. This Fishbake has continued yearly almost to the day in both 2007, and 2008 and will occur again in following years. The aim of the Gingerbraaains was to lead a month or two of undead lifestyle free of intense political restraints and politiking in general, as life as a Ginger had become quite intense outside the game itself. Ultimately this rift lead to the fracturing of the Gingerbread Men and whilst the Gingerbraaains lasted and came back after meeting the [[Malton Tours Inc.]] to life as The Gingerbread Men, many of the remaining Gingers had scattered and were no longer active. After hooking up with the [[Night Ravers]] when Ram Rock ed First bumped into them in Osmondville and began following them about for a bit, the Gingerbread Men and The Night ravers habitually hung out and followed each other around becoming fast and close friends. Currently, The Gingerbread Men are scattered after The 3rd Annual Gingerbread Men/Zombie Fishbake at The Malton City Zoo, our kind hosts these past 2 years, and will link up again for the 2nd Anniversary (2nd time SINCE) Candyland Operation Stay in Ridleybank aka The Candyland within the next few days. At current count There are a little more then half a dozen Gingerbread Men running with the Group itself, with a number scattered across the City of Malton as a whole. Reports of Gingerbread Men inside of the recently infected city of Monroeville are also filtering into Malton as well. It is important to Understand that for several months in late 2006, The Gingerbread Men's Urbandead Wiki Page had been listed as a Historical Survivor Group, in the Historical Survivor Section of this Wiki. This came about due to members not actively updating the Wiki page itself, and was changed back to active status when the remaining emmbers of the GBM were asked if a new player whom they had never heard of before, requested they could take over The Gingerbread Men Leadership. This was met with a firm statement of "NO!" amongst much cursing and statements of "If you are so good, create your own group but don't take ours!" As such, The Gingerbread Men would ask all players to not claim to be Leading the Gingerbread Men as if it ever falls to permanent inactivity, the group as a whole wish for it to remain their group with no one else taking over. '''The Gingerbread Men are still active as of the 16 December 2008 (Last Edit on: 01 March 2008).''' === A Note on This Wiki Page and The Gingerbread Men's Current Status === This Wiki Page is seldom used by members of The Gingerbread Men, and is woefully out of date, with the better part of a year of history missing (this shall be fixed inside of the next few months with a complete revamp of the page by the remaining GBM). This is not to say that The GBM are inactive, far from this, they are, as ever running freely through Malton, these days largely focused on the relaxing arts of having fun and partying with their constant friends and allies the [[Night Ravers]] and their accompanying Band [[Bin Laden's Daughter]]. Currently, The Gingerbread Men are enjoying the festivities of [[Malton Tours Inc.]] and their anniversary bash at the Pitman Mansion, enjoying the party with these old friends and several other likeminded and downright fun groups. Although the GBM consist of fewer core members these days, a number of the older members have started to come back into the fold once more as news of The 2nd Annual Gingerbread Men Zombie Fishbake, hosted by [[The Malton Zookeepers]] at Malton City Zoo, and the 1st Anniversary Candyland Party are being prepared for. It would be greatly appreciated by all members of the Gingerbread Men, if this main page remains unedited by people not of the core Gingerbread Men group, and further that people do not edit in links to their own character/username on this entry unless part of the offical wiki moderating team and for an official purpose. Human groups have disparaged the Gingerbread Men's tactic of dummy barricading - barricading empty buildings to distract zombies from the real safehouse - because it leads survivors travelling through Ridleybank to believe that the suburb is safe. Others defend the tactic, stating that it is consistant with the accepted practices of [[Distributed Defense]], and that as there are literally hundreds of zombies in the suburb - a great many more than most survivors will encounter in their trek through Malton - it is clear to even the less experienced survivors the suburb is very dangerous. ==== Secrecy ==== Opposition groups have also become irritated by the Gingerbread Men's obsession with secrecy and their downright refusal to give solid answers in response to questioning. Henry V, Act IV, Scene III. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/9695/recruit019cx4ng.jpg === The Gingerbread Men Assault and Take Ridleybank and Transform it into The Candyland.=== On Monday The 6th February 2006 at 00:00 Hours GMT, the Gingerbread Men (GBM) put into place a coordinated barricade run that had been planned and written entirely by Ram Rock Ed First (aka Squidgey and Von Luthius) himself, with later additions by fellow GBM. Within the space of 5-10 minutes, the entire suburb went from zero Barricades to Extremely Heavily Barricaded (EHB) as 46 GBM made a coordinated run through the suburb. Not only did they capture the suburb of Ridleybank, but in true GBM Style, they playfully transformed it from Ridleybank &mdash; the ever present last surviving pure location of Zombie Freedom and Independence &mdash; into the GBM's own personal Candyland. This map is shown below. http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/5581/candylandv22ss.png Using the abilities of Nighthaunter and a few select other GBM, a riddle was formulated for the RRF (The GBM's most honoured foes and vice versa) to solve in order for them to find the exact location that the GBM would be holed up in for their defense of The Candyland over the coming month. This riddle is four verses long with each line having a Candyland block as an answer to lead the RRF from the beginning block to the final one where the GBM are making their initial defense. It is common knowledge that the RRF respect the GBM for their direct approach to defending their homes whereby telling the RRF where they are and hence where the fun and the siege shall be. It is also common knowledge that the RRF Favour an enemy who is bold enough (some would say arrogant enough) to state exactly where they are and what they will do to make the siege much more interesting. Whilst, many people would say this is suicide for a force who is outnumbered at least 5 to one against, the GBM are confident that they can hold The Candyland for an entire month whereas any other group who have made such claims in the past have not succeeded and if they have, have only done so in a small selection of buildings. The GBM are confident that with their unconventional tactics and strategy, they WILL survive the month and see the respect their opponents both undead and political have for them rise and another historical chapter of Malton's history be written. It is common knowledge, at least between the GBM and the RRF that this coordinated defense and barricade run was ready to be launched before Christmas in December 2005. However, due to numbers being reduced after the last assault on Ridelybank and the unexpected unavailability of support from a number of our allied groups, it has been delayed for over ten weeks now. Evidence of this action being expected for weeks can be seen in the RRF's private forums and is in no way a reaction to the actions of any other survivor group. But as ever I digress. Despite what they said as far as recognition is concerned, I shall hereby declare my thanks on behalf of the existing members of The Gingerbread Men to the CDF who sent a large number of their members to partake as Gingerbread Men in this assault and further defense of the Candyland. Recognition of the valiant efforts of SOAP must be made as they helped to hold a starting point and clear the end point of the run of zombies inside that would otherwise have feasted on 46 defenseless GBM. Also, a BIG thankyou to HerrCron, the cartographer responsible for the creation of the splendid and beautiful version of The Candyland Map. Finally, thanks must go also to Olhado, without whom, the GBM and Caiger Mall Forums would not exist and neither would the GBM be as whole as they are today. Actions speak louder then words ever do. The GBM have taken Ridleybank from a suburb of very little barricades to extremely heavily barricaded in an incredibly short time. They now have a complicated strategy for the continued defense of the suburb that shall ensure a long and lasting prescence within the suburb they have turned into The Candyland. If they succeed, they will have done what no other group has done in the history of Malton &mdash; take the sword to the enemies' heart, and continually stab it until it bleeds dry. The RRF WILL Fallback from Caiger Mall to combat this new threat, and with a smaller force besieging the Mall, Caiger WILL hold, but only if The Gingerbread Men succeed in their defense of Their Candyland. Will you take up the mantle of the common name of The Gingerbread Men and hold The Candyland for as long as possible against one of the most famous and determined zombie hoards in the game? These orders come about after our fairly quick fall from the attacks by the Zombie Hoards from Caiger Mall lead by The Gingerbread Men’s Nemesis – Petrosjko the most famous and honourable Zombie leader in the game. This is a co-ordinated Barricade run of Ridleybank, designed to move the entirety of The Gingerbread Men and their combined Allies in a single move to recapture the entirety of Ridleybank in a single day of barricading from next to nothing to Extremely Heavily Barricaded (EHB) barring a few entry points kept at Very Strongly Barricaded (VSB). These orders have been carefully planned (They took me an entire FIVE HOURS to write up and carefully plan MYSELF!) and although a small number of resource buildings will be EHB, it is vital that they are for the continued survival of Survivors within Ridleybank from now and forever. From this point onwards, The Gingerbread Men are setting up shop in Ridleybank and it’s surrounds. We’ll defend and continually, maintain the Barricades across the entire suburb so as to ensure Ridleybank is the Next and Permanent Location of War against the Zombie Legions. As such, these orders have to be followed to the letter at the prescribed time so as lives, and more importantly, revivification syringes, are not wasted needlessly. As such, all barricaders will be required to have the Free Running and Construction Skills. Without them, you cannot participate effectively, so if you do not have these skills yet, get them. Right onto the next bit then. Many of you will have had a look at my barricade run of Crowbank that we didn’t get to put into effect with The Head Hunters due to our spectacular fall from grace in Wray Heights all those months back. Those who haven’t seen this run, have a look to understand the depth of planning. Those who have seen it, listen up because there are some important changes that have been put into effect this time through. The first is that ALL Members of the Barricade Run are required to have Free Running. Secondly, we’ve created common time zones of people for a reason – to get certain sections of the suburb barricaded all at once. This is the most important operational thing in this movement as if we approach the run piecemeal across a twenty-four hour period then the large amount of Zombies in the area will render the barricading work useless as they rip it to pieces as we slowly put it together. Thus I ask you all to communicate between yourselves via either the Forum, email, MSN or AIM, in order to get the exact times into which you could log on all at once to do a co-ordinated move. In so doing, this barricade run will be more successful then any attempted here before. Thirdly, many resource buildings in the central section of Ridleybank will be Heavily Barricaded, with only those select few on the outskirts being left at Very Strongly barricaded. This is mainly because of the vast mass of Zombies in central Ridleybank that anything below this level is just begging to be brought down. Fourthly, ALL Members of the barricade force will end inside of the New Safehouse by the end of the Second Day of movements as opposed to arriving in a staggered line across several days. Finally, the New Safehouse shall be taken to Heavily Barricaded and above like everything else in Ridleybank, so those members of The Gingerbread Men (GBM) and their Allies without Free Running, I suggest you hole up in the surrounding suburbs until you get it using the time to also restock on FAK’s and NT Syringes. ==== THE MOST ESSENTIAL ORDER TO FOLLOW: ==== When following these orders, DO NOT Barricade past the levels indicated. If Buildings are at the current level or higher, then leave them be and continue with your moves for the day. This only applies to the Buildings indicated as being VSBed in Orders. Anything else will be taken to Heavy and above. Furthermore, given amounts of AP are shown to be spent on Actions. Use this amount of AP’s to the letter as else you will not be able to complete the run in the time period designated. DO NOT spend more AP’s then are given in the Orders for each task. Follow the Orders to the letter and all should work out excellently. Also note, where indicated, that in the Orders, Heavily barricaded means anything from Heavily Barricaded to Extremely Heavily Barricaded so in following the point given above for using a pre-set amount of AP’s, where indicated, Heavily barricading a Building can mean taking it to Extremely heavily barricaded. Careful correspondence between the streetmap of Malton will be required to successfully implement this movement so pay attention else you risk compromising the entire operational movement. Cheers. Please note, the abbreviation of GBM = Gingerbread Man, but includes Our Allies as well. ==== THE ORDERS: ==== This Barricade Run is based around a 2-Day movement with the 1st Day being used to get into position in both Pimbank and Barrville for the moves the following day, of which a full 50 AP shall be needed to complete the individual runs in their entirety. The Second Day is when the Operation is carried out, and is based around 46 people using a Full 50 AP to Free Run and Barricade Only, the entire Suburb of Ridleybank. This will culminate in each of the 46 Barricaders ending inside of the New Safehouse HQ that will be barricaded heavily so as those without Free Running will not be able to get inside once the Barricade run begins. The East Starting Point will be in Pimbank and will be located inside a factory [61, 43]. This is the location to move towards and set up in for the co-ordinated barricade run heading West into Ridleybank. The West Starting Point will be in Barrville inside Floyde Stadium [48, 43]. This is the location to move towards and set up in for the co-ordinated barricade run heading East into Ridleybank. Original Base of Operations = a warehouse [59, 42] Club Vaughan [54, 43] = NEW BASE OF OPERATIONS.
