Basic Info:

  • A monument is a city block containing a statue or similar piece of public art, without a building in it. It is functionally equivalent to a street, except that players with the Tagging skill can gain 2 XP for writing graffiti on a monument.
  • This is, game-play wise, an empty block, and cannot be barricaded.
  • After the July 3, 2009 update, some monuments became tall and can be seen from a distance with binoculars

Description

Humans and zombies alike will see the following (permanent) description when standing in front of the monument:

"You are at the Ha Monument, a metal statue of a woman with a crack running across it."

Like half a laugh, you find this monument vaguely amusing.

History

The Ha Monument was erected in 1976 to honor Quaylin Ha (Hua Qiao Lin), a Chinese immigrant who served the RAF as a nurse and translator in the Pacific Theater during the Second World War. The monument was erected on the site of her family's home in Malton, which burned to the ground in 1973. That's right - not 1912.

Barricade Policy

If you can get cades on this thang no one's gonna care what level they are.
