The Ketchell Building was constructed in 1967 to house Ketchell, Ketchell & Associates, LLC, a major advertising firm based in Malton. The building was sold in 1972 after several rough years for KK&A; it was purchased by Sloacum Holdings and office space was let out by floor to numerous small companies over ensuing years.

The Ketchell Building was the first structure to be publicly scaled by Walton Grohke, the celebrated "Human Gecko" of Malton, in 1987.
