Description

The Lancastle Building is one of the oldest office buildings in the suburb of Pescodside, only second oldest to the The Farbrother Building. Built in 1905, it is a large office block owned by the Malton Banking corporation. In the early half of the century the Lancastle Building was a fundimental part of Pescodside's central business district centered around Willet Square to the east. By 1957 the building started to show its age as the financial district developed newer, taller office buildings in the area. These new office buildings attracted the attention of all the major corporations and soon the Lancastle Building found itself relegated to a minor role in the Malton Banking corporation's financial interests as their main power brokers moved to these high-rise offices.

Tactical Significance

Because of the high number of structures in such a small area, survivors with Free Running are able to access almost all of the buildings in the suburb, even going as far as Treweeke Mall to the north, without ever having to step outside. The building's importance is furthered by its proximity to NecroTech's facility inside the Clewett Building, the mobile phone antenna located at the Farbrother Building, St. Ninian's Hospital, and the fire stations to the south. That makes this a considerably valuable area for survivors to control. However for equal reasons it is not unusual to find the location the focus point for invading zombies keen on picking off newcomers who commonly shelter among these buildings.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or a vigilante-minded survivor who catches the culprit in the act. If this happens the accused survivor must present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.

Current Events

October 24th, 2008 - Burchell Arms Regular, john66, reported that the Lancastle Building currently served as a "EHB piñata". This no doubt was in reference to the suburb's current zombie situation which involved zombie mobs roaming throughout the area in search of fresh targets.
