Description
A large white-stone building, its doorway flanked by statues. The building boasts an early 20th century facade atop a modern steel-framed structure. The windows are boarded from within.
History
The Schalch Hotel was a popular hotel before that whole Malton zombie thing. It was built on the spot of a former customs warehouse, whose stone facade it retains atop a fully modern interior. The hotel was opened in 2002 and it was smooth as it went. It enjoyed full capacity for its first two years of operation due to its spectacular view of nearby historic buildings, a weekly karaoke night, and a decent selection of reasonably priced single malts in the hotel lounge. Despite its popularity, it did not seem to make money for its owners. In 2004, there was a fire caused by a cigarette 'accidentally' dropped in a gasoline can. The building was partly burned but refurbished at a considerable savings from the insurance settlement. All was going by the numbers until 2005 when the zombies came and the building was overrun as they tend to be in such circumstances. It remained in zombie hands for a week until the hotel guests got it back under control, after which everyone thought it had lost some of its charm. Years later, the zombies still roam the city and the hotel was abandoned.
For some time thereafter it was used by the Regulators Alliance, until that group disbanded its Dartside operations. The building later became Anti-zombie Squad property with plans to turn it into a safehouse. These plans seemed to go exactly nowhere, as with so many things in this crummy town. For the past few years, the building has been maintained as a guest house by the 57th ADMI, who wish to warn guests that they are not responsible for any items left in their rooms.
Barricade Policy

May 2009 You are inside the Schalch Hotel. The building has been extremely heavily barricaded. Also here are Fuelcan Fredrick (50HP) and Tso MD PhD (60HP).A portable generator has been set up here. It is out of fuel. The lobby has been decorated with a stuffed alligator and a stuffed moose head.Somebody has spraypainted RA!
