Description

The Speak Motel is a small motel situated in the suburb of Dulston. While the rented rooms are hardly 5-star worthy they do at least appear to have seen regular maid service, or at least they did before the "Malton Incident". Nowadays many rooms appear to show obvious signs of habitation by survivors passing through the area. The motel's rooms split between one bedroom suites and larger family suite rooms equipped with queen-size beds, extra single beds, and double-size hide-a-beds. Also each room has its own kitchenette, which is important for the hungry survivor on the go. While the motel does advertise high-speed internet access survivors have learned that all internet services inside Malton city limits have been down since the evacuation.

The previous occupants of this building was the survivor group known as BLACKOUT, a former member group of the Dulston Alliance, who had selected this location as their headquarters due to its convenient placing at the very centre of Dulston. They used the building's location to respond to emergencies anywhere in the suburb, or they did until March 2007 when the group was officially disbanded.

The Speak Motel has now been claimed by Aequalitas per Excidium as their base of operations.

Barricade Policy

Barricades should be kept at Extremely Heavily at all times. The true purpose of this building is to serve as a heavily fortified shelter for Malton's veteran survivors. This ruling was set forth by the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram and is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance.

Current Events

December 13th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that while the building was ruined, it was also very empty. No zombies.

September 2nd, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon reported that the motel was once again in survivor hands. At the this it is to be considered a "barricaded tactical position" in the fight to reclaim the suburb from the zombie menace.

August 31st, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon issued an alert, as murderers were working with zombies in order to weaken the defenses of buildings across Dulston. Such was the case here when said criminals assisted zombies in overruning the motel. Survivors seeking shelter should look elsewhere.

August 28th, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon reported that the Speak Hotel is now back in survivor hands and Heavily barricaded...at least for now.

October 2nd, 2007 - Aequalitas per Excidium, a survivor group, has claimed the motel as their new base of operations.

March 9th, 2007 - BLACKOUT officially disbands and control of the Speak Motel is once again reverted to the city. Survivors wonder, who will be the next group to claim ownership of the motel?

September 9th, 2006 - The Speak Motel is way past check-out time with corpses laying around its rooms. The Minions of the Apocalypse made short work of the motel's inhabitants with Phlegm CoffinD'odger, dragging out the final survivor in his own inimitable style. After raiding there, the zombies made their first small breach into Treweeke Mall, finding close to 160 survivors sheltering in one corner alone.

June 3rd, 2006 - BLACKOUT, a member group of the Dulston Alliance, has moved into the Speak Motel and transformed the once rundown pub into their new headquarters. From here they intend to dispense Dulston-style justice on anyone, or anything (zombie), that brings harm to the good citizens of Dulston.

May 29th, 2006 - More Z!ng, Z!ng from the Shamblin' Crooners. Will the survivors staying at the Speak Motel ever be able to get enough? Probably, but the Shamblin' Crooners keep on dishing out the tunes.

May 12th, 2006 - After their initial warm welcome and success here a few weeks ago the Shamblin' Crooners made a return performance to satisfy all their fans who still hungered for more Z!ng, Z!ng. Again, the only fatalities were all good natured ones.

April 18th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...
