*Keep - If you're looking for necrotech buildings in a suburb, you should be able to come to the wiki and type in Necrotech Suburbname for any suburb, and get a page with either all the NT info on it, or like this one, with a link to all the individual NT buildings. Ideally the other buildings info should be transfered there, as there's some doubling (quadrupling) up of info -- boxy T L PA DA 03:08, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Copyright infringement of artwork from a movie. Not used with permission. Violates the image uploading rules. --Akule 18:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

 • Delete Mel Gibsons' Apocalypto, I think. Not being used as a form of parody or commentary, and isn't noted as being a copyrighted file used without permission. --MorthBabid 19:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
 • Keep - This is ridiculous. These images are not being used for profit at any kind, neither in any offensive towards the people who *own* it. Yeah Yeah, mediawiki software has a set of rules about copyight, image ownership and legal stuff to protect people from using other people work in the wiki. But know what, this is a fun fun game wiki. Nothing here is to be taken serious, and those who do need medical advice. I say these images should be kept, unless those who own these images contact the moderation team of the wiki and ask us to remove it. --Hagnat 02:58, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Copyright infringement of artwork from a TV Series. Not used with permission. Violates the image uploading rules. --Akule 18:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

 • Keep 1. Its a film, not a TV series. 2. I believe this is covered under parody laws, since the image is being used to poke fun at the idea of "Channel 4" in a zombie apocolypse. A notation on the page that the image IS copywrited and used without permission, however, might be called for. --MorthBabid 19:44, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Uh, no. It's being used for personal purposes. If you were making fun of the movie, then it would be a parody. For example, if I wrote some sort of story about how Ronald McDonald was a cannibal zombie, I would get my ass sued off. --Akule 18:11, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
And the only way anyone from McDonald's would find out about that story is...Survey says...If you tried to turn a profit! --_Vic D'Amato__Dead vs Blue_ 00:37, 26 December 2006 (UTC
If I were making fun of the movie it would be parody? Have you read anything on the page? --Ron Burgundy 06:10, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

 • Keep This logo is being used in reference to the product it legally represents, and is not being claimed as an original work. This falls under fair use in terms of news reports and commentary. You should know this, you have the link to e-copyright on your user page? --MorthBabid 19:47, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
 • Keep - this falls under satire as well.--Gage 20:30, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually, it's not satire. Satire would be parodying the image, but simply stating that you eat at Arbys isn't a parody or satire. --Akule 18:11, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
The reference is to taking someone to an Arbitration hearing i.e. taking them to Arbys..thus An literary or artistic work (in this case the Arby's Sign)that imitates the characteristic style of an author (in this case Arby's) for comic effect. thus making it, by definition, a parody. Now earn your wings somewhere else instead of policing every damn image on this wiki...the follow up work is getting old. Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 07:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

According to Arby's website: "The Trademarks displayed on the Site are registered and unregistered Trademarks of Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. Nothing contained on the Site should be construed as granting, by implication, estoppel or otherwise, any license or right to use any Trademark displayed on the Site, or any license or right to use any other trademark owned by any other third party. Ok for the last time, Here we go...Under US Copyright 17 U.S.C. §107. Examples of activities that may be excused as fair use include: distributing copies of a section of an article in class for educational purposes; providing a quotation in a book review; and imitating a work for the purpose of parody or social commentary. and IS PROTECTED under fair use. btw since its a US held trademark, it falls under jurisdiction of US copyright laws sheesh...Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 18:20, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
We are not discussing the distribution of sections of an article in a class. The use of this logo is not a book review. This is not an imitation of a work. This is a copy of a corporate logo that is being used to make a joke. The fact that it is funny does not mean that it is a parody. Being funny is not a shield for copyright infringement. --Kiki Lottaboobs 19:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
read an above comment. As it is used, it is by definition, a parody. Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 19:59, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
No, it's used as a cultural reference. You are making a joke, yes, but you are not making a parody. Mad Magazine, Saturday Night Live, and Robot Chicken do parodies, using Arby's as a convenient way to abbreviate arbitration isn't a parody. --Kiki Lottaboobs 20:11, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh I'm sorry. Did the little man pretending to be a woman, yet failing at it have something to say?--Gage 20:23, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
I remember something about, I think tshirt hell, created a shirt called Subway: Eat Flesh or something like that, claimed parody, got sued, and had to pull the tshirt. Using the logo, and saying something funny under it doesn't constitute parody. A image of the Arby's lasso that has a kind of rotting look to it, with text of Bararahby's would be parody.--THE Godfather of Яesensitized, Anime Sucks Yalk | W! U! WMM| CC CPFOAS DORISFlag.jpg LOE ZHU | Яezzens 20:54, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Not to mention suing T-shirt Hell Pizza Slut (a parody of the Pizza Hut trademark). Arby's says they want you to ask them if you are going to use their trademark. I don't see a citation or proof that you asked to use their image. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™

Actually, no. They simply are using a copyrighted image for their own purposes. They don't have permission, which means it should be removed. --Akule 18:11, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Uh, thats a pretty strict interpretation of copyright law. I believe classically in this case, since the image isn't being claimed as an original work AND is being referenced, there wouldn't be an issue. That link on your own user page has a few nice case examples of this fact. Check it out. --MorthBabid 05:49, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Sure, since you asked. I think the three strongest points are: 1. It doesn't violate any of our community rules, as this isn't a overtly sexualized image nor is it copyrighted. 2. Its currently being used on a page denoting a major in-game event, though in a dramatic and romanticized method. 3. There is no such thing as "skirting" the rules; There is either a place where a rule is clearly broken or not broken, or an area where a rules context must be considered. The spirit of the law as well as the letter, if you will. Hence why we even have these debates. --MorthBabid 19:10, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
unfortuantely, it does violate copyright laws as no one contacted Packard Jennings about it. http://centennialsociety.com/mallpgeight.htm, so everyone who did vote to keep it, might want to change their vote. However, it was very informative on your viewpoints. --Akule 15:11, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Gonna disagree with you on this one. This photo (along with all security footage) was released publically several years ago on a CD. Anyways, the Associated Press cannot hold copyright on an image that is owned by the Colorado state police.--Jorm 22:34, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
How about the fact that they sell it to people? http://www.co.jefferson.co.us/sheriff/sheriff_T62_R27.htm and http://www.alpinedisc.com/columbine.htm or are you saying that because they sell the image, they don't own it? Also, the wiki page you referenced said that it may be public domain. Nice source for reference, btw. Everyone should believe everything wikipedia says. --Akule 15:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm totally confused here. You said the image was owned by the Associated Press - that's your "reasoning" as to why this should be deleted. And hey, guess what: it's not. And you even provide the proof of that, pointing to the fact that the Colorado police are selling it (and I know; I got my copies from them, but it didn't cost anything when I got it back in 1999 or 2000 or whenever it was so apparently they changed their policy).
What I'm seeing is: you didn't know fuck about this image, you wanted it deleted because you wanna be a mod, made up some lie about it being owned by the associated press, and got called on it. How many other images have you gotten deleted by spewing the same bullshit?--Jorm 20:18, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Blah blah blah. I think I'm important because I made my own game. Blah blah blah. Okay, so it's not the associated press's copyright. It's the Jefferson County police's copyright. My bad. Still a copyrighted image and still defeats your poor argument. ;P And no, I don't want to be a moderator. I just like deleting images. I'm the picture police! --Akule 22:38, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Ban In-Game Rape & Don't Ban In-Game Rape

I didn't agree with the Ban In-Game Rape as I feel people who are bothered by it shouldn't be playing the game. Creating a counter page is just going to cause more conflict. The entire group is a copyright violation. I don't know the policy on disclaimers, but i don't think that including the copyright info is enough. From my knowledge, the only legal use is with explicit consent from the holding company. --Blue Command Vic DvB 04:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
