I've been thinking about this for a few weeks, was going to put it off but I can't really see a reason to. I've been active here for about 8-9 months, I guess, and apart from personal upkeep of group and user stuff, I'm mostly concerned with weighing in on suggestions, scheduled deletions, and all that community niceness. I'd like to be able to take a more pro-active role in tackling vandals, doing the deletions that're scheduled, and probably tackling the merged locations, and sysop access would save a bunch of time in the latter. I'm currently a sysop over at the Teletraan I Transformers wiki, so I'm not new to the interface, and I'll not be fucking about with buttons I'm not really meant to. Aw, shucks. If you're referring to the whole wiki/wikia split, it's a petty heap of shit that I avoided from day one, since it was the kind of drama that no amount of giving-a-care would help. As for your questions, first answer is to attempt to get a more active base for detailing recent events, as the wiki currently seems like the obituary for a fun game from a few years back, rather than one that's still very active. A more active userbase on the wiki would also increase turnover for things like suggestions and policy discussions, and could be drummed up with threads on the major forums (Brainstack, PKA, Hub, Barhah, etc).   Truth be told, most of my edits have always been in user spaces and talk pages, all about useless shit too. The only reason I got promoted was because of Assylum. I learned all about the administration and how it works because of it. So spam and user talk pages shouldn't exactly be discounted. It's his knowledge when he DOES visit admin pages and the like that should be thought of. And also, you can do admin-y things on talk pages.   Let's not overstate things here. At least from what I've seen, ZL submitted two virtually identical suggestions (see diff), Misanthropy restored the somewhat critical comments from the first one after ZL nuked them (potentially by accident), then restored them again after ZL very intentionally wiped them out. Alright, so it's been a month since I was nominated by Thad, but as I said at the time, I thought it would be best to wait a month before running. So, the basic skin of the matter. I'm experienced in all manners of wiki activities. I know the admin pages well. I've also performed several large scale janitorial tasks. I helped Ross kick the Orphans, and I've been helping to keep the list down since then. I archive the suburb news once a month, an activity which I just performed on Thursday. Generally, I'm an active member of the community, and I'm hoping to take it to the next level, and help contributing as part of the sysop team.   Not all questions or complaints have to be taken personally, Yonnua. It was not a vandalism accusation - if I actually did think it was, I would have reported it as such. It was a simple request to not alter the map - which may have occurred accidentally. I included images to show proof that the map was accurate as I had fixed it - not knowing that I had attributed the changes to you erroneously. Yes, I apologized to you - twice in fact - in view of how upset you were evidenced by your childish name calling. I am an otherwise helpful editor, at a level of expertise that could only be described as beginner or novice. I am not a troublemaker, and was attempting only to help. The wiki is a place where editors of all levels of experience contribute, and perhaps I should avoid dealing with you in the foreseeable future. I think you are a great editor, and I wish you the best, but as Sysop, it is expected that you will have to deal with more that a fair share of "stupid pricks... posting slanderous(sic) accusations" and you can't get into a fight every single time.
