A Beginners Guide to Urban Dead

I'm asking to have this deleted due to criteria 11. I am the origninal author. The page has was protected at one point, but after having been taking off protection, was edited to the point where it wasn't equal to that of the original. At that, it's only slightly larger than a stub, and does nothing more than contain a few links to pages that could otherwise be found in elsewhere. The article is worthless. -Poodle of doom 04:07, 17 June 2009 (BST)

Can anyone verify this this is the user that made the page? Else it doesn't fit into any other category (Crit 11 is incorrect) except maybe crit 1, once someone fixes all the links. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 15:12, 17 June 2009 (BST)
Even if you are the original author, this isn't in your User space (no crit 11), and seeing it has been edited by others (no crit 7), it doesn't fit into any speedydelete criteria. It is still linked from many pages, and is a useful 'hub' sort of page. It is, however, unfortunate if the original content has been lost -- boxy talkteh rulz 15:25 17 June 2009 (BST)

Talk:Suggestions/17th-Jan-2007 - an old talk:suggestions page overflow. I've moved most of the content to User talk:Boxy/Suggestions/See Barricades, all that's left is the last section -- boxy talkteh rulz 02:35 5 June 2009 (BST)

Oh, actually it's not an overflow, but the talk page associated with Suggestions/17th-Jan-2007 from the old system... still, all suggestions on that page were removed (for one reason or another), so it's probably a crit 1 or something -- boxy talkteh rulz 02:40 5 June 2009 (BST)
Hmm. I'm not so familiar with the old suggestions system... Are you asking we delete the talk page for a suggestion article under Crit 1, because you copied the contents (which was 95% your content) into your user namespace? Because at the moment I'm not comfortable deleting it, particularly because the talk page's contents are directly moved from the article itself and therefore cited on there. Meaning, if we deleted it, the main article would have no link to the contents it once had. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 16:08, 5 June 2009 (BST)
Keep - It's valid suggestions discussion that should be kept somewhere within the suggestions system. Move it to a new style page and do whatever magical tagging it associated with suggestions removed for revision if you like, but don't shaft the talk page. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 20:55, 5 June 2009 (BST)

Went through some of the unused templates and picked out the ones I'm 99% sure are safe to delete.

Additionally, this page:

  • XXXX - Was a placeholder link way back when so incomplete location blocks could be tracked, thus no longer needed. Content is duped.

Man this wiki sure does accumulate junk. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 17:50, 24 May 2009 (BST)

For the templates that have like under 5 links, if possible I would suggest copying the code onto the pages directly. That way they don't lose the design, but it doesn't waste resources/space by having a template. After that the template should be deleted if it isn't needed. That's what I did when I organized the templates last time. --– Nubis NWO 01:32, 25 May 2009 (BST)
These are all unused templates. The links are just links, not inclusions (usually just references from somebody's talk page). I merely mention them offhand. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 13:06, 25 May 2009 (BST)

I struck the Crit 12 Template, and when I have the time I'll continue to check the other templates at your request. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 01:36, 26 May 2009 (BST)

Just had a quick look through them now. A fair bit of it seems to be the usual useless junk that the wiki accumulates. A few of note (some which should be saved, IMO.)

  • Template:ComradeOfTalunex is kind of like the ZPOV templates on deletions a while ago - the template isn't used, the image is specifically in place of the template it seems
  • Template:Love goolina should go, or at least be replaced with a redirect (which would quickly be deleted anyway.)
  • Not too sure about Template:PD Status Map - it isn't actively being edited, but it could be quite useful if someone wants to put a bit of effort into it. So a keep on it for now.
  • Similar to the Talunex one above, Template:PrickSuburb isn't used, the image appears to be used in it's place.
  • Again, I'm voting keep on Template:DailyTasks for now - it could be potentially useful, although I won't be surprised if it's a dupe
  • Template:Infirmary is duped in function by Template:CreedyNW and Template:PerrynW
  • Template:Influencemap should potentially be kept - it may be useful as a subst: template (see: MOB,) hence why it isn't showing up as being included in some pages
Ditto for Template:InfluenceMapColors/Allied

That's it - most of the rest is useless groupbox templates and old bits of code.

For the record, the old Crit 12 template was undeleted for historical interest - I'll include on a sandbox page now so this mistake doesn't happen again. Linkthewindow  Talk  11:38, 26 May 2009 (BST)

Template:DailyTasks is outdated and is only a record of how to cycle the old suggestions system, it currently serves no utility beyond 'historical interest' which it was kept for in a previous vote. It's here because it wasn't used or linked to otherwise, thus I doubted anybody actually cared. Same for the crit12 template. If people don't mind orphaned & unused stuff floating about in the netherworld, so be it. Takes up the same disk space deleted or not after all.
The PD Status Map is an unfinished relic, it takes after the old method used for the NT Status Map & co. Hell I could knock up a new style one at some point. But I assure you there's nothing there worth keeping right now. That reminds me, the entire User:PoliceScanner namespace can be shafted at some point too.
I struck the IM. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 13:40, 26 May 2009 (BST)
Thanks, and point taken on both of those. A PD Status Map is a bit pointless anyway. Linkthewindow  Talk  13:43, 26 May 2009 (BST)
Ping... What's going on with these? Have all the templates been confirmed as deletable? DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 08:23, 1 June 2009 (BST)
They were all unused, I distilled the list, various people have looked over them, whoever deletes them will double check the links anyway, and if anything somehow slips through that, we have the magic of Undeletions. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 11:34, 1 June 2009 (BST)
