Blue Command Vic

Well, I didn't know I could nominate myself, or I might've done so sooner. I have at least 500 edits (my contribs page has been purged at least once), and I've been here since August something-or-other (again, purges show my first edit as 8/31/06). I've been making some edits lately to clean up histories and such, I've made good-faith requests on the deletions page, I'm a model voter (if I do say so myself), and I was the first to offer wiki peace to DORIS from the citizens of Dulston (here and here). The in-game war still brews, of course, but at least it won't spill over here, not if I can help it. I've made a few suggestions as well, but it's not my forte. Also, I'm logged on to the game and the wiki almost non-stop whenever I'm at home. So, uh, vote for me! --Blue Command Vic DvB 18:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Alright, I've resigned myself to defeat on this one. Maybe next time. Withdrawn--_Vic D'Amato__Dead vs Blue_ 23:48, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Strongly Against - This user hasn't demonstrated any real commitment to the wiki, and has <500 edits to his name. His only contributions of late have been bashing me on my talk page and vandalism to the DORIS page. No way.--Gage 18:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Thumbs Down - I never heard of you until you began this personal inquest against the fair natured people of DORIS. I think you need to do more around the wiki before you can get a serious bid. I can't vouch for someone who doesn't know what NPOV means yet.--THE Godfather of Яesensitized, Anime Sucks Yalk | W! U! WMM| CC CPFOAS DORISFlag.jpg LOE ZHU | Яezzens 18:55, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Excuse me? I'm not the one that posted "Dastardly Old Ridiculous Irritating Sissy" if that's what you're trying to say. Show me where I posted POV stuff in a NPOV section, if you will. --Blue Command Vic DvB 02:28, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - You're fairly new to the wiki and you need to make a valid contribution for the wiki before you can be considered for promotion. AnimeSucks also has a point as you do not seem to comprehend NPOV currently. Pillsy FT 19:32, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - You whould need to torment DORIS for several months before I could vouch for you. --Max Grivas JG / M.F.T. 19:52, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - No significant contributions Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 21:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - Barely heard of you. If being here since August was time enough to be a mod, I'd count myself eligible. I don't.--J Muller 22:10, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
I quote from higher on this page: "Significant time within the community. We define this as at least 2 months since the candidate's first edit." --Blue Command Vic DvB 02:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Those guidlines are outdated. Look at my bid, Thari's or Max's.--Gage 02:32, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
If they're outdated, maybe they should be edited and fixed?--Blue Command Vic DvB 02:36, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Then are they in process of being updated? Can hardly blame a fellow for citing guidelines that appear to be current on this page. I'm not voting here, as I'm relatively new to the wiki, but as someone relatively new to the wiki, I'd assume I should vote based on the guidelines on this page. --Barbecue Barbecue 02:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I am sure we will get around to it eventually. It really doesn't matter anyway. That is not the only criterion for mod. It isn't like we mod someone once they get to 500 edits. Notice how few mods we have? If 500 edits was the only thing you needed, we would have 20 times that amount.--Gage 03:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate you guys have a lot to do, so I'm not trying to grief, but it does matter, because if you all get hit by a bus, only what's posted here is what new users have (or are likely to) go on. And, as you note, there are multiple criteria for a credible nomination, but the criteria don't sound like they're credible themselves, singly or multiple, per this chain of comments. If you need someone to correct the criteria, let me know what you want on my talk page and I'll do the write-up. --Barbecue Barbecue 03:16, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Folks, the guidelines say "at least two months". I think Xoid may have been anointed at two months; no one else has been, to my knowledge. Gage and Thari each had about four months under their belts. And that was four months of pitching in and making the wiki work better (see my own vote). Just saying moderatorship is not a badge you earn for 60 days of sticking around. -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 03:42, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Totally agree--I think the criteria are too generous, even just as guidelines. But the reason this discussion arose, at least for my part, is because J Muller's vote cited a single criterion as though that criterion were not met or was intended to be sufficient (setting aside other criteria for the moment), and Gage responded by saying the criteria as a whole were outdated. In good faith Blue Command Vic opened his bid trying to meet said criteria. Again, I'm not even voting here, but this case seems to point to the fact that we should do some revising of this page, per Gage's own statement, which I'd gladly help with. That's all, at least (again) for my part. But I'll say no more, if someone wants my help, mention it on my talk page. Otherwise, carry on. --Barbecue Barbecue 03:56, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
    That wasn't my only reason--I haven't heard much that's meaningful out of him.--J Muller 04:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
    >_> I was promoted at two months - at the same time as Xoid, as a matter of fact. Cyberbob  Talk  05:29, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Ummmm... Did you lie on your bid then?--Gage 05:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Whoopsies. I think I was thinking about my first bid... I dunno. Nevermind. Cyberbob  Talk  05:40, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Before two months had passed, actually. I also had a charming explanation of the fact that it's only a guideline, not a requirement, but I lost it when my browser crashed. So imagine something insightful and extrapolate from there. :P –Xoid MTFU! 17:44, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - Are you serious? I'd rather have Amazing as mod. --Sonny Corleone RRF CRF DORIS Hunt! 22:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Just a question, Sonny, and don't take this personally...Have you ever justified a vote?--Blue Command Vic DvB 02:45, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I believe he just did, and there is no requirement to anyway. Cyberbob  Talk  03:20, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - When I look at your contributions, under this name and your former username, I see a lot of fanfic and DORIS-baiting, but no evident commitment to assisting with maintenance and improvement of the wiki. I also think you may be taking your Project UnWelcome membership a little too seriously. -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 22:45, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - For having such a bad attitude, and I fear you could be too biased against DORIS. --Absolution 01:34, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - There is no God. Cyberbob  Talk  01:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - I like your attitude, and I like how you keep your cool for the most part on the Wiki. But you need some seasoning. Maybe in a few more months? Keep active in the policy sections, the suggestions pages and the like, and help us get to know you! --MorthBabid 05:41, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - My reason is your response to Sonny's vote. --Funt Solo 13:15, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - I don't see any real contributions from you.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 14:29, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - All in favor of Blue Command Vic not contributing anything real on this wiki say Aye. Aye! --Axe Hack 14:31, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Um... Le who? Rheingold 04:46, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against - Not yet. In the future I could possibly envision you as a mod, but not yet. You need to have some more work on your resume. Put a few more notches on that contributions belt and we'll see. --Reaper with no name TJ! 00:17, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against- Saw you bash gage on his talk page, give me doubt --Dickholeguy 19:49, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Against In general, I vote against anyone who nominates himself. Asheets 18:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
