This page is for the request of page undeletions within the Urban Dead wiki. Due to concerns about loss of data, the ability to undelete pages is restricted to system operators. As such, regular users will need to request an undeletion from a system operator. For consistency and accountability, system operators also adhere to the guidelines listed here.

Please note that Images cannot be restored, they are permanently gone when deleted. If you wish to prevent any currently unused images from being deleted you may wish to Image Ark them.

Due to the new software update, images deleted from the wiki after 21st April 2011 can be undeleted. Images deleted prior to this date unfortunately cannot be restored.

Guidelines for Undeletion Requests

All Undeletion Requests must contain the following information in order to be considered:

  • A link to the deletion request in question. Preferably bolded for visibility.
  • A reason for undeletion. This should be short and to the point.
  • A signed datestamp. This can be easily done by adding ~~~~ to the end of your request.

Any undeletion request that does not contain these three pieces of information will not be considered, and will be removed by a system operator.

Undeletions may only be granted if the user provides a convincing reason as to why the page should be resurrected, or if the page was deleted as a result of a system operators abuse.

Once the undeletion request has been entered, the request shall remain on this page, where it will be reviewed by a member of the Sysop team, and action taken accordingly. Once action has been taken, the request will be moved into Recent Actions, along with a comment from the system operator who determined the action take. After a week has passed with the target page in Recent Actions, it can be moved to the Archive.

Malton Uprising/Archive

I'm trying to piece back together the timeline of this event, and while I don't know if this page has any relevant information, it might, and I'd like to at least be able to see it. There was some hesitation over deleting it way back when, based on the fact it had had multiple editors. While Secruss created the page, the Malton Uprising was an event, not a group, and its page had several approved maintainers/editors, of whom I was one. If the page is repetitive/useless junk, I'll ask for a re-deletion to get rid of clutter, but right now I'm just trying to track and catalog whatever pieces remain of the MU's history before they're killed in the next revision-history deletion round. -- Jen T | SFHNAS | PK 21:05, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

It just seems to have been an archive of the Malton Uprising's talk page, and the content has been returned there already (or was never removed?), so no need to recreate the page -- boxy 01:16, 28 August 2014 (BST)

APFD Front Office

And associated subpages? At least I think they are subpages - I can't really tell, but however they were created, they were probably supposed to be. I haven't found any direct links to these from the outside yet, unlike APFD Front Office.

The Old Arkham page had a subpage dedicated to archiving inactive groups. I appreciated the attempt to keep some record suburb group history, so I moved information that was deleted in GSGM 2013 to that page. In the process, I found that this particular group page no longer exists. It appears that it (and its subpages) were deleted mainly under old Crit 12 rules. See discussion here.

In addition to being linked to from the Old Arkham - Inactive Groups page, this page is also linked to from User:Ltpotter.

It appears that it DID have some short and minor impact on the suburb (or at least as much impact as some of the other splash-in-the-pan Old Arkham groups that were NOT deleted). From what I can gather, it was a failed attempt at another survivor group, and sustained heavy infiltration or tag stealing from the PKer group Iocaine Powder. -- Jen T | SFHNAS | PK 15:15, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Ugh...they'll all have to be moved to deal with modern subpage conventions, and it appears that a number of images that used to be on the pages no longer exist on the wiki (and they pre-date our ability to undelete images). Anyway, I don't have time to tackle it at the moment, but I'll try to remember to get to it tomorrow if no one handles it earlier. If I don't, feel free to poke me here or on my talk page. Aichon 16:22, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
I restored all those, and their member template (which was on the main page). The front office is now at APFD, and I think I've moved all the other pages to sub pages of it now. They're listed in Category:APFD -- boxy 01:16, 28 August 2014 (BST)

Talk:The Tagging Taggers

I asked User:G for some clarification on her recent edits to this page. She wants it to be undeleted and asked for my help in requesting it. It looks like this group page was deleted under Crit 12 a while back. Then later, put up for undeletions. However, the talk page was not undeleted when it was processed. User:G would like the talk page restored. Her recent edits could be removed. Just restore it to the point before it was crit 12'd ~Vsig.png 17:18, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Also to clarify, G is a member of that group and it is occasionally still active. Wink ~Vsig.png 17:25, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
The comments (which pre-date the wiki history purge and are thus condensed into a single edit by Hagnat) have been restored to the page's history. You or G can grab them from there. Aichon 17:34, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Its been a while, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I should be able to just undo G's edits to the point of Hagnat's revision to them back, right? Or maybe her edits could be reverted? ~Vsig.png 18:22, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Either or. I suppose I could delete her edits, but I'd rather leave them in the page's history and just have you guys revert back to the edit prior to that which is the state you want. Aichon 19:03, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Hmm well this is what I was afraid of. There was an intermediate edit between G's last eidt and Hagnat's, so I was unable to revert. I can undo my own edit, but we need the intermediate edit reverted. Sorry to be a pain. You think you could revert?
Nevermind, I figured it out Tongue :P. We're good now. ~Vsig.png 19:57, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

I feel like this is the inverse of what happened when we had Crit 12. Can you come up with a reason why we should undelete these pages and expose their histories to wipes instead of preserving them until the groups and histories are relevant? --Karekmaps 2.0?! 06:39, 31 March 2013 (BST)
Sure, all of those pages have actual content and (the great majority) have incoming links already. If you follow the (crit 12) links I've been providing, you'll see that I don't just put up all crit 12 deletions, only those that I think have provided some interesting content or interaction. Crit 12 was a good idea, but overdone with very little thought put into rejecting requests to nuke group pages that had gone inactive, but had still contributed to the game without being truly noteworthy (historic). I figure I can retrieve most of them before I lose interest or the ability to view deleted pages. Others can put them up for deletion again, if they meet other speedy delete criteria, or even lack interesting content by going through A/D -- boxy 10:40, 31 March 2013 (BST)
BTW, feel free to question/rejecdt any of these. Loners, for example, on going back through them, could be a bit of a stretch -- boxy 10:43, 31 March 2013 (BST)
I'm ok with them either way, just wanted to make sure there was some reasoning being applied here beyond 'they were crit 12'd'. Especially since there's an actual long term cost(revision loss) involved in undeleting of these. I think instead what's going to happen is I'm just going to undelete the most recent revision in these cases then. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 14:19, 31 March 2013 (BST)

Moar 12s

Historic Crit 12s

A couple of groups that were taken out in the crit 12 era, that I feel are worthy of revival (given their links and content) -- boxy 05:32, 22 March 2013 (BST)

I'd see no issue with undeleting them. Any differing second opinions? -- Spiderzed 13:26, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

These guys as well? -- boxy 08:54, 23 March 2013 (BST)

-- boxy 03:43, 24 March 2013 (BST)

Karek undeleted them. I also restored most of the talk pages -- boxy 08:43, 24 March 2013 (BST)

Past undeletions can be found in the archives.
