The Task

  1. Clean up and removal of unfunny content in certain Humourous pages, including, but not limited to, Great Radio Messages, Great Profiles, and Random Public Speeches.

How Do We Clean Up?

Most of these pages need a major clean-up. What better way to do it then a vote for each individual section? Acceptable votes are Yay and Nay, or any variation of those two. Make sure you sign and number your votes. Those that receive 2/3 Yay votes will be kept. Those that do not will be purged. Voting closes two weeks from the timestamp.

    Well, humour is not really the sort of thing you can always explain how it works, but there is common pattern based on incongruity or contrast resolution. You know, the juxtaposition of the expected and the unexpected. So in this instance you're set up with an expected, known and commonly understood situation (a trenchie haranguing the troops), then builds up tension (the trenchie becomes progressively more obnoxious), and then the joke is resolved abruptly, and neatly, with an unexpected twist.
