For my own reference, or anyone who stumbles on this page and is curious, I'm gonna list out a few things I did with my signature, primarily regarding the text-shadows.
#I applied a text-shadow to the entire thing. That's what makes it looks like it has just a little depth and is off the page. Kinda.
#I used rgba, rather than hex, to specify the color of the shadow. I did this for one simple reason: it works on all backgrounds. If you use hex color for things like shadows (i.e. you specify a shadow of color #ccc, which is a very light shade of gray), they only work against light backgrounds, since if you put it against a dark background, it'll look like a glow instead (i.e. a very light shade of gray is darker than white, so it looks like a shadow against white, but it's lighter than black, so it looks like a glow against black). By using rgba instead, the color can be given an alpha (i.e. opacity) value. This allows me to set the actual color of the shadow to true black, but then merely make it less opaque, that way, regardless of the background's color, it will always make it look darker, just as a shadow should.
#I added a glow to the "T" for my talk page. It's the same idea as with the text-shadow, but it's a light color instead. The idea there is that if I post my signature on a light background, it looks normal, since the white I use for the "shadow" won't show up against white (and it will barely show up against other light backgrounds). If I post on a dark background, it now has a little glow to it that makes it "pop" a bit, that way it doesn't just disappear into the background.
The rest of it is all pretty straightforward spans with different sizes and whatnot. Nothing too fancy, just long.
