Background

Claudia Isidora Garrison was born in Rochester, New York on a brisk June morning to the city's fire marshal and a local baker. As a child she was headstrong and persistent. As she grew older, her demeanor mellowed, though her willful nature only grew stronger. Claudia had big dreams of following in her father's footsteps as a firefighter, but neither parent would hear anything of it; too dangerous for their baby girl. The answer "no" was not in Claudia's vocabulary, as the Garrisons soon found out when their "baby girl's" room turned up empty on the morning of her 22nd birthday.

Claudia was finally free from a city too small and cold to hold her back. With a plane ticket and a positive attitude, Claudia made her way to Malton where she had seen an ad online for the Gatcombeton Fire Department. Upon passing the written exam and CPAT with flying colors, she comfortably settled in and made her mark on the town working harder than ever. Despite her charming looks, her fellow buddies at the department would often joke that she should have been born a man with the tenacity and strength she possessed, not to mention she could hold her own in any drinking contest. Thus she became known as "Claude" around the station. Times were good, and everything seemed like it was falling into place perfectly.

And then the Outbreak occurred.

Claudia's stubborn nature lead her to be one of the very last units that continued to help escort survivors to the safety zones for departure. After what seemed like ages the last convoy was on it's way to pick up her unit. Unfortunately, the undead were also on their way. As the trucks had begun to roll out, one clever undead managed to grasp onto a driver's leg. The driver of Claudia's truck. The last things Claudia recalled were the scent of burned rubber, a loud crack, and then blackness.

Three days had passed before Claudia regained her consciousness. The truck lay sideways, crumpled against a building not more than a block from the fire department. Somehow she left the wreckage with nothing more than a minor concussion. Her fellow comrades were not as lucky. Why the undead left her alone is still a mystery. Having grabbed her axe, she slowly made her way to the safety zone on foot. By that time Quarantine had been well under way and all roads out blocked. Her heart should have been heavy. Instead it had kindled with a new passion to end this hell.

She had returned to the abandoned fire station in search of a new plan when she overheard a call to other survivors over the radio. It came from Barrville by a group calling themselves "Axes High." Claude was back in business, so to speak. A dangerous job her parents had mused. They didn't even know the half of it.

Fun Facts

  • Claude has a twin brother name Clyde. They are *very* estranged.
  • Turquoise = best colour evar!
  • Claude is a belonephobic, which makes her a very hard zed to revive.
  • Growing carnivorous plants, particularly Sarracenias, is one of Claude's favourite hobbies.
  • Claude's homebase when not in Barrville is her former place of employment, Eatwell Walk Fire Station.
  • If found in favour, Claude will staunchly stick by you until the cold and rigor mortis end, whether you want her to or not.
  • Claude still sports the bikini top from her Malton Fire Department calendar photo shoot. Why she hasn't picked up a shirt yet is still a mystery. We suspect it's the severe of lack of working washing machines in Malton.
