|suggest_type=Skill alterations + new skill
|suggest_scope=Zombies
|suggest_description=The point of this suggestion is to solve one of the more contentious issues in UD; zombies having to get revived in order to get Body Building.
*Body Building would '''not''' cross over to zombies.
*Zombie max HP would be naturally at '''60HP'''. Yes, even newbies would start with 60HP.
*Headshotted zombies would stand up with '''10HP less''' than normal.
*Ankle Grab would remain the same.
*The new skill: Regeneration.
**Located under Lurching Gait
**Removes Headshot's HP penalty.
I think this would largely maintain the balance as it currently is. I'm not exactly sure about the statistics, but I'd say most of zombie deaths are by Headshot. Yes, this would leave a number of un-Headshotted newbie zombies with 60HP when they stand up, but I doubt that would have much of an effect on balance. Theoretically, zombies with Digestion but no Regeneration could eat their health up to 60HP after being Headshotted, but I'd be willing to bet that most zombies would go after Regeneration before Digestion. As for old zombies, Regeneration would compensate the new, improved Headshot.
;Why this is still here: Haven't thought this completely through yet. Also, might try to stuff in a way to avoid the 15AP cost for newbie zombies, though that might be difficult. Also, Regeneration probably needs a better name.

Loud Zombies

Timestamp: REMEMBER TO FILL THIS IN WHEN POSTING THE SUGGESTION
Type: New Skill
Scope: Zombies
Description: I suggest a new skill that would allow the zombies to shout with a one block range, meaning it could be heard in the eight neighboring blocks in addition to the zombie's current block. It would cost 2AP and the maximum length of the message would be 50 characters. This would be another text-box that is visible even if there are no characters in the same block as you. It would be next to the regular speech-box (if the regular speech-box is visible), similar to how survivors have separate boxes for normal speech, radio transmissions and spray-painting.

The voice would only carry on the outside, or inside large buildings, not from inside to outside or vice versa. It would still have the maximum limit of 50 listeners, starting from the current block.

In the neighboring blocks the game-message would show the direction where the speaker was. The profile of the speaker would not be included, but zombies could still recognize if the speaker belonged to their group. Multiple speeches with the same content would be combined into one, while keeping their place of origin as shown below:

* You heard a shout from the north-west saying: "ZMAZH MRH MAN HAZ!" (10 pies and 35 rats ago) ...and again from the north ...and again from the north-east (10 pies and 30 rats ago).

The log-message would be almost identical to regular speech for listeners in the same block. The only change would be the substitution of "said" to "shouted".

I believe this would help ferals concentrate their efforts as they would be able to convey messages other than just "Food here!" further than their current block.

Why this is still here
are zombie-speeches "said" or is some other verb used?
Think up a better term than "shout", if possible.

Discussion (Loud Zombies)

Modify Revive Observation Message

Timestamp: REMEMBER TO FILL THIS IN WHEN POSTING THE SUGGESTION
Type: Interface
Scope: Wording
Description: My zombie was standing in a wasteland when someone revived a zombie. The message read: "Survivor injected a zombie with a syringe and it slumped to the floor."

How can someone slump to the floor when they're outside? I suggest giving the message a little variability, so that in different places it gives a different message:

  • Carparks: "...slumped to the pavement."
  • Cemetery: "...slumped next to a grave."
  • City Zoo: "...slupmed next to a cage."
  • Exercise Yard: ?
  • Monument: "...slumped at the base of the monument."
  • Park: "...slumped on the grass."
  • Streets (Alleys, Avenues, Boulevards, Drives, etc.): "'...slumped to the pavement."
  • Training ground: "...slumped to the ground."
  • Wasteland: "...slumped to the ground."

Why this is still here
list of messages incomplete
