| Usage (normal): It is meant as a conversation ender. The message it conveys is "I've acknowledged what you have to say and have nothing to add. I appreciate that you responded."

| Usage (sarcastic): It is still a conversation ender, however, when used as a response in an argument (rather than a discussion) it has the additional implication of "I have read what you have to say. I think you are an idiot and do not have the time to try to beat common sense into your thick skull while I secretly wonder how you function day to day without getting yourself killed by wolves or co-workers."

| Real World Origin: I was in an email "discussion" with a supervisor at work about certain procedures. I called her out on a few things that she had wrong getting a tone of righteous indignation in my email that honestly wasn't warranted. Her simple reply after a few exchanges was "Thank you for your input." It stopped me cold.
