Alright, now onto the main stuff...Unless you know a little bit about wiki coding, combined with CSS or HTML, you're going to hit a few snags developing your own layout. Assuming you don't, what I first suggest doing is finding a page format you like, snagging the code, and pasting it in your sandbox. Then, modify the colors to how you want it, following up with things like nav bars, sidebars, and header pics. I wouldn't worry about the superfluous stuff until you have the basics first. With talk pages, usually people have some sort of guideline that they want you to follow, like placing any new discussion under a heading using a level 2 heading, like ==this== . Some others (like me) make it difficult by having several rules, like creating your own heading and the like. Usually, as I'm sure you know by now, you sign your posts by using four tides ~~~~ or by using the button.

How many suggestions? Well, on the main suggestions page, it's one per day. The Talk:Suggestions page doesn't really have any guidelines. However, if you post ide after idea, people would probably start saying that you are simply spamming the page. So, in fairness, I'd say the same rules apply to the Talk:Suggestions page, ie one per day.

When repling to someone's comment, make sure you type in the Re like this:

The hash is there to continue the number count, the colon is there to indent and skip that line for counting purposes, and the Re is to denote.... well, I think you get the picture.

Only one author Re is allowed per vote, and they are allowed on Re as well, but only to your Re. ie:

Alright, here we go then. Internal linking (other pages on the wiki) is pretty simple. To do it you'd type [[Link title]]. For example [[User:Suicidalangel]]. That would produce User:Suicidalangel. To give your link a name so it doesn't appear as the raw title you'd type a vertical line after the initial link title, followed by the name your giving it. [[User:Suicidalangel"|"A Suicidal Angel]] the charcter in " marks is the vertical line. That would produce A Suicidal Angel. To link other pages, for example the Peer rejected suggestion Pep pills from March '06, you'd type [[Suggestions/RejectedMarch2006#Pep_pills]] or to give it a fancy name, [[Suggestions/RejectedMarch2006#Pep_pills|Silly Pep Pills]] Those two links would produce Suggestions/RejectedMarch2006#Pep_pills and Silly Pep Pills. The get the link title of a page, all you do is copy everything after php/ on a page address. For example: ~~http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/~~User:Zaruthustra the bold text is all you'd copy. Newbie Guide

Oh, I can't take credit for this, it's Hagnat's idea. I'm not too sure what should be there, but it should be friendly and not too technical for someone who's never used a wiki before (especially because someone could read the article before they've even signed up for an account). Maybe there should be some hand-wavy philosophy stuff about helping each other and working together towards the goals of the wiki, and I think the whole article should be pretty short, so that it's easy to read. Me and Gnome are planning a small contest of manhunt. Between the both of us. Wanna join in? This contest will be held at Ruddlebank and every suburb surrounding it. The rules are, 1) No alliances, 2) No alts, 3) No sleeping in malls. Only resupplying in malls is allowed, 4) since I'm the PKer in this, I get 1 month to hunt you down and kill you, and 5) Killing the PKer will add an extra kill that needs to be given to you. I have heard that there is a sure-fire way to get your folks to calm down after a bad test result. I never used it myself though. Yeah, the atmosphere's been a little strained recently. I reckon some of it's been spilling over from what's going on in-game - the Big Bash, the PKA's massacre at Hildebrand etc. It's got a few individuals/groups wound up with each other. Then there's Darkmagic and his 'Revolution'. I'm starting to think he's the creation of some comedian who's set out to wind people up, a kind of wiki-Borat.
