Of course Chirurgien is a Wiki n00b.

Feel free to admonish or reprimand this user against any violations accrued. You know you want to.

This is where you perform such action.

I shake my fist at you. I don't know why but your talk page makes me feel compelled to do so. Nothing to be done!

I am very much honoured, good sir. -- Chirurgien  (talk 22:25, 4 August 2010 (BST)

Your sig is broke

See? You've got a space in it wrong. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:43, 31 August 2010 (BST)

Didn't catch that. Thank you very much, will fix. -- Chirurgien  (talk

NWO

Hello, I'd like to invite you to join my group NWO if you're interested or have questions give me a shout(: -.- 16:01, 22 April 2013 (BST)

Hello there! I've been lurking around group pages lately, and was rather interested in joining the NWO at one point (especially since it's an all-play-styles group. My main survivor character is currently affiliated with another group, but I may consider letting my currently inactive alt join, if I so gain consent from my current group. Might I know where exactly the NWO is concentrated? If there are any NWO operations in the southeast of the map, I may be unable to join, due to my main being primarily active in that area. Thank you very much! -- Chirurgien  (talk 08:39, 24 April 2013 (BST)
Scratch that. I'll have to consider it very carefully, as I don't really think I'll have the time for another character. Thank you very much, and good luck recruiting, nonetheless. -- Chirurgien  (talk 09:14, 24 April 2013 (BST)

That's fine by me(: Our doors will always be open to everyone. -.- 00:33, 29 April 2013 (BST)

IP Ban

Hey Chirurgien, I have noticed you comment about your IP ban over here and investigated. The IP adress given in the screenshot isn't listed at all in our blocklist, so sys-ops can do nothing about it. The source of your problem must be that your IP is blocked by the DNSBL on Kevan's end, which he implemented a year ago. The only thing you can do about it is to take it directly to Kevan. -- Spiderzed 17:42, 28 April 2013 (BST)

Thank you very much for the heads up. That definitely explains it; apparently, our IP range is in at least one spam blacklist, for Jove knows what. As long as the DNSBL isn't going to prevent me from making edits, I suppose I'll be fine. He only really needed to make a Wiki account to correspond with Tikhon Medical here, after all. -- Chirurgien  (talk 17:58, 28 April 2013 (BST)
www.dnsbl.info is where you can check if your IP is on the blacklist. Click the button up top to run the check. Not sure if Kevan will be able to help. You may just need to work to get your IP off the blacklist. Good luck. ~Vsig.png 00:27, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks as well for this link. When I checked, the IP range is blacklisted from only one of those sites, but our specific IP isn't. There are apparently a lot of spam reports against our ISP. There's an express removal button in some levels, but it had already been apparently abused in other levels. Oh well, time to look for a better provider. -- Chirurgien  (talk 06:11, 29 April 2013 (BST)

Thank you!

Globe.jpg Cartographer's Gratitude
I would like to personally thank you for updating Danger Reports, you're having a bigger influence than you realize! PB&J
Whoa, thank you as well! I know I don't update that many of them, though I made Anghel Rojo almost exclusively for the purpose of checking on buildings and updating their statuses! On another note, I'm not sure if it's intentional, but your Wiki signature seems to be semi-broke in that template (the "T" part, might be my broswer, though.) The template also reads "grattitude" instead of "gratitude". I mean no offense by this, and if somehow, my tone is rude, I apologize in advance for it. I just arrived from work and am rather groggy. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 10:28, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I made it last night, which means I was groggy myself, I'll fix it asap ;) See you around! PB&J 10:33, 29 May 2013 (BST)
No worries about that, and take your time. :) Keep up with your amazing work with unstubbing location pages, as well. I've been reading some of your edits, and all I could say is "WHOA." --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 10:36, 29 May 2013 (BST)
It's kind of a fun job, collecting all the info and then weaving your own little story around it :) I also take pride in regularly maintaining my list of unstubbed locations. You should try it sometime! PB&J 10:40, 29 May 2013 (BST)

We seem to share the same train of thoughts on these things, so I'm wondering, are you up for a little project? :) PB&J 11:16, 29 May 2013 (BST)

My lurking brought me to that list of yours; it's how I found out about it, after all. Sure, why not -- what would this project entail, by any chance? --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 11:17, 29 May 2013 (BST)
A redesign of the suburb page, with a better lay-out, a designated and welldesigned place for groups to display their local efforts and more elements that update and change semi-automatically (like the danger center does). This should make those pages, essential to any real UD player, more attractive and helpful :) PB&J 11:23, 29 May 2013 (BST)
That's an excellent idea. My grasp of wikicode is very limited at best, however, but I think a revamp of the suburb pages wouldn't hurt! As it currently stands right now, a lot of those pages are rather messy, even with the group/frequency massacres. There's something about the suburb page setup that feels a bit like a chore to sift through. Probably more pertinent information (such as the danger status indicator for that suburb, along with TRPs) can be placed on the top, with active groups directly below it. "History" and other snippets may follow. Perhaps I can make a mock-up of this, or maybe discussion with currently active wiki users can be made as well, to reach a referendum. I apologize if anything I have stated is moot, at this point.
Nonetheless, I am very glad that such efforts in updating statuses are still appreciated; like the other person who sent you a message on your talk page, I was worried that it was a silly undertaking. :) --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 11:28, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Those all seem like good ideas :) I think we should make a list of what to accomplish (I'll make a project page in a minute), then decide on a certain look and start making the different elements. Beware, this won't be a quick little fix or update, if a couple of my ideas work out, we'll have to custom build some stuff for each of the 100 suburbs ;) PB&J 11:37, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Agreed on all those, and I understand that it wouldn't be very easy. It'd be a good excus... er, exercise in learning wikicode, if ever a lot of templates/mechanisms will have to be custom-built. I had a hunch that this would require a fair-sized overhaul. I'll be looking forward to finding the project page on Recent Changes! --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 11:43, 29 May 2013 (BST)
A wild project page appears! PB&J 11:54, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I added a first, short list of what I want the new burb pages to be, feel free to add to it. I'll be back later. PB&J 12:08, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Brilliant! I just returned from taking my supper before I started adding to the page, but the edit should have been sent to the server by now. My apologies if it seems like I'm just reiterating what you have already said; I'll try to figure out if I can make a few "live" mock-ups, if so possible. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 13:45, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Hold the mockups for a later stage, first we need to decide what goes and what will be added, and if so, where we're going to put it ;) And don't worry about repetition, it just means we're on the same trach, and that's a good thing :) PB&J 14:04, 29 May 2013 (BST)
The ideas are looking great :) Just thinking ahead, but should we directly involve the groups active in a suburb in its overall design? PB&J 14:40, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I'll hold the mockups as well, at least until there's a general "skeleton" that the consensus/majority concurs with. There is always room for polishing those ideas. :) There's no problem with thinking ahead! I like the idea of involving the active groups into the redesign as well, but I'm not too certain how many people from groups that are active in-game still utilize the UDWiki. Nonetheless, the more people who can give their input into this, the better it will be for everyone! Someone may be able to raise something everyone else had overlooked. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 15:05, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I'm a bit hesitant in involving too many people in every detail of the process though, in the end the really great projects (be it on the wiki, like the Danger Center, or ingame, like BB4) are carried by a small number of people. But suburbs like Ridleybank and Dunell Hills should reflect at least a bit on their inhabitants, no? PB&J 15:07, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I definitely see what you mean by not involving too many people, but yes, I was referring mainly to suburbs of great notoriety, such as Greater Ridleybank and Dunell Hills, since those particular two may benefit from having its residents have even just a bit of a say about what goes into their respective suburbs' pages -- you know, to prevent some possible Wikidrama and all from some things being left out. Admittedly, I'm out of the loop with those two suburbs, so I'm a bit at a loss with this one. (Pardon, my brain is slowly getting fried, as the night deepens. :D) --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 15:16, 29 May 2013 (BST)

Time to reset to this side :P Night? It's 4.30 pm here :) The RRF will be glad to help I think (particularly since I'm a member :P ), the DHPD, Yagoton Revive Clinic and Quartly Library Study Group should be on board as well with stuff like this :) PB&J 15:19, 29 May 2013 (BST)

Yes, it's 10:25 in the evening where I am. It was getting cramped on the other end, so I thank you for the "visual breath" of fresh air. That would be great, especially re: the RRF. I'll probably be thinking of other suggestions for the suburb pages after work tomorrow, hopefully. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 15:29, 29 May 2013 (BST)

Search Rates

Would you also be so kind to add your search rates to this list? I'm trying to update the drop rates, and I'm aiming for at least 2.000 searches in each building type :) PB&J 19:49, 29 May 2013 (BST)

I have no qualms with that! I've been keeping a small log of my searches as of yesterday, but it's been as vague as "found one pistol clip with 8 AP." I'll try to be a bit more attentive and specific, this time. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 23:46, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Thanks! If you don't have the time to update the tally and percentage as well, just leave the previous signature there ;) PB&J 08:31, 30 May 2013 (BST)
Whoops, my apologies for that -- didn't intend to omit any signatures! I only recall there being a timestamp on the tally and percentage rows, though. I've updated the percentages as well for the hospital sub-section (as I had added some data), but I'll also be doing the same for the PD section shortly! --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. The UD Wiki

Greetings,Chirurgien!
Impressive wonderful Wiki activity.
Congratulations abd keep it up!

Hey, thank you very much! This comes as a surprise, as I wasn't too certain that there were any people apart from the older veterans of the game who still utilized the wiki! --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 05:20, 4 June 2013 (BST)

File linking

Hey Chirurgien, I deleted the files in your speedy delete request, but I noticed your difficulty with linking to a file. To do so, link like a regular article, except put a colon ( : ) in between the opening [[ and the word "File". So, to create a link to File:Duckling01.jpg, just type

[[:File:Duckling01.jpg]]

The same goes for categories: [[:Category:Recruitment]] will link to Category:Recruitment. Hope that helps! Bob Moncrief EBDW! 20:24, 8 June 2013 (BST)

Thank you, on all counts! This is definitely useful; I always wondered how people made regular links to files and categories around the wiki. --Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam. [ talk ] [ KT ] [ BB4 ] 20:42, 8 June 2013 (BST)
