Haliman

Hello Eddie. Leon, Thad, and I were trying to organize some Olympics for the UBCS to compete against UC in. We'll have team competitions, single competitions, etc. Come visit our forums. Battle of the Dagger II. Voice yourself in that topic to help get some events down. :D. --Haliman - Talk 23:23, 11 June 2009 (BST)

Templates

How do I make it that I only have to type in Template:Me in the {} things? --Dark Blue Helmet 13:45, 10 June 2009 (BST)

Have the namespace begin with Template:(insert template name here), (eg. Template:Umbrella). Enter it into the search box to bring up the page to create it. --D.E.ATalk 13:49, 10 June 2009 (BST)
http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Help:Templates is that the page you're talking about? --Dark Blue Helmet 13:53, 10 June 2009 (BST)
Yes. I forgot about that page. But when you do a search and it says page doesn't exist, click here to create it. Thats what I was talking about before :P --D.E.ATalk 13:58, 10 June 2009 (BST)
Okay, I created "Template:Dark Blue Helmet". Now I put the template code into there and that's it? --Dark Blue Helmet 14:01, 10 June 2009 (BST)

THANKS! I'm sure I'm going to have more questions at a later point in time though. --Dark Blue Helmet 14:07, 10 June 2009 (BST)

I'm back with another question. Check the Off Topic Section of the forums. --Dark Blue Helmet 15:06, 10 June 2009 (BST)

Trouble with signatures

Hello, I have been trying to figure out the signature function but am not having any luck. I have created a user page located here [1] and have read and reread the wiki about the signature function several times but cannot seem to put the pieces together. Any help would be great. Bashar Roberto —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bashar Roberto (talkcontribs) at 19:56, 28 May 2009.

Still figuring stuff out

Thanks, I'm brand new to this whole wiki thing, so I just copy pasted the code off someone else's page. --User:Chip Hender 21:14 (EST)

User Page

Your an artist when it comes to your userpage. How many versions have passed now? Oh and I couldn't help notice a small error :P (been warned).--Thadeous Oakley 16:44, 13 April 2009 (BST)

LoL! Thanks Thad. Nothing to it really, as long as you know what you're doing. How many versions!... err... I'll get back to you on that one. And I fixed that little error (Can't believe I never noticed it before now). --D.E.ATalk 15:54, 14 April 2009 (BST)
You did it again >.< --Thadeous Oakley, Europeans, don't forget to VOTE! 17:06, 29 May 2009 (BST)

Thanks

Hello Eddie - it's Bashar Roberto - thanks for letting me know about the correct practice of where to put a sig.

I am still getting the hang of comments on the wiki - just started today when I was off work - so if I haven't posted in the right spot sorry!

Have a great day! (I shall get the hang of this crazy text world yet!) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bashar Roberto (talkcontribs) at 22:44, 9 April 2009.

Templats

is it ok to use your templates on my page>>?--JHORROR Black Delta Mockridge Heights 10:14, 3 April 2009 (BST)

Yeah, you can use the templates. They're Survivor-oriented anyway, so have at it. The only ones you can't use are this, this and this, because they're for members only. :P --D.E.ATalk 10:28, 3 April 2009 (BST)

Hey from the SWA

Hey Dr Eddie. I recently removed umbrella corporation from the member group listing on the SWA wiki and I just wanted to give you a quick explanation. The SWA currently has only 5 member groups (Tikhon, TMS, Legion, CAPD, and ROAR). However we have a number of allies and umbrella corporation is one our allies. The language is confusing since we are called the South West Aliance, but we work like a traditional group like umbrella corporation. So just like we are members of your forums and are allied with umbrella corp, you don't count us as members in your group. I hope that makes sense?
Anyways I'll see you around and sorry for the late notice. I though I posted something earlier on your talk page but I must have closed my browser before posting.

Newbie question

Hi Dr Eddie. You posted the welcome message to my talk page about a week ago, so I figure you're somewhat beginner friendly :-) I have a game specific question, for which I'm looking for peoples rationalisation i.e. it's not a how does this work, but rather why does it work this way question. I figure that's a better way to start than throwing something in the developing suggestions page. Where is the best place to do something like that? --Roorgh 07:59, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

I saw this on RC, so I'll take the liberty of answering ;P. You could try the main page talk for those types of questions - that page is the closest we have to a "general discussion area." There isn't a page dedicated to answering stuff like that. Of course, there's Developing Suggestions and the FAQ. Just post back here (as I'm sure Dr Eddie will have a response for when I'm not being a stalker,) or at my talk page. Good luck! Linkthewindow  Talk  09:01, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Link, but I've think you've covered everything. But yeah, the main page talk or the FAQ pages are the best ones to go with Roorgh, if people agree with what you say, you can post in the Developing Suggestions page. --D.E.ATalk 10:00, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Thats great, thanks to both of you for the quick responses. --Roorgh 16:59, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

The Corporation / redirect

thanks for the speedy response eddie, and the heads up i'll get started on that group page soon. thanks again Jack S13 T! PC 00:44, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Hey Eddie, I saw that you're now the president of the UC, so I just wanted to congratulate you with your new job --William Lanfried 15:43, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Will. Where did you see that?? --D.E.ATalk 15:47, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
On your forum? --William Lanfried 16:28, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay doke! --D.E.ATalk 16:30, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
A little late, but congrats, Eddie. --Haliman - Talk 01:15, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Ruddlebank

Why was the group page edited with the UC and UBCS removed? I actually found an old UBCS member whos name was Bug something, anyway has the UCC been shut down? Are we no longer to advertise for the real UBCS?--Umbrella-White.pngPresident JacksonUmbrella-White.png 07:08, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

I think that's Bug Maclock you're talking about. Anyway in regards to the UBCS and UCC.. after Thad informed me that we only had like 4 members in our UBCS, I decided in the best of interests to remove it and the UCC from the group listings. Umbrella is our main group/division, and UBCS is our sub-group/division. But because its lacking in numbers, as everyone prefers to join our Umbrella instead and I'm not sure if its even active anymore, it was best to have it removed from the listings. Also our UCC isn't really a group, its a place for the public.. OUR place for the public. Therefore there's no reason for it being on the listings either. If you want our UBCS back up then you go ahead and add it. I just felt, because we had links to it on our Miltary Services page, that there was no need for it being added to the listings at all. --D.E.ATalk 11:41, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Sigma Wiki Page

can you update the Sigma roster on the wiki for me? I would do it myself but im a bit occupied at the moment. if you cant get to it no problem i will do it some other day. Use this for reference: Sigma Platoon Roster Also i could use some help with making a siggy for the wiki cause each time i try it gets all messed up, i will show you what i got so far latter. Thanks in advance. Fanglord2 00:49, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok nevermind about the siggy thing i almost have it done then i will use it. Anyway can i use the main layout for your user page but edit it for my own? I would really apreciate it, hope to hear back from ya. Fanglord2 17:17, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Ok i got my siggy check it out User:Fanglord2/sig but how do i make it apear as my actual sig instead of this one --->Fanglord2 00:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Apologies

Didn't mean any harm, normally I wouldn't do it. I just thought I wouldn't bother you by something insignificant as just fixing the link. Will keep that in mind. Have a nice day :) DarthRevan 15:42, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Help

I know how you can use different colors for backgrounds but how, if at all, can you set imagines as a background instead of a color?--Senior EliteUmbrella Corp.gifThadeous Oakley 10:53, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Example. Is this what you mean? --D.E.ATalk 11:13, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
No, I don't think so. What I am typing now appears on a white background. I want an image to serve as my background. Its probably very hard to do, and I wouldnt be surprised if the wiki can't do it.--Thadeous Oakley 12:06, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
No, it CAN be done Thad. That link I provided above shows you. But I don't know how to do it though. O_o --D.E.ATalk 12:46, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Project

It really aint much. See my user page, recent changes and a dangerreport page I already did. Like Dakerstown. If you want to help you can start on the down side of the suburb map ;).--Thadeous Oakley 14:28, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks anyway Thad, but I'll leave it in your capable hands. I'm currently undertaking some work of my own atm. You're sorting suburb danger levels, I'm sorting suburb location wiki pages (buildings, etc). Also the link you leave on the danger level pages is wrong - it should link to Project Wiki Patrol, not Project Welcome. --D.E.ATalk 15:33, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, the people that can't revert pages back are likely newbies and more suitable for Project Welcome. That was my thought on it.--Thadeous Oakley 18:53, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for your help Eddie, I appreciate it.--Thadeous Oakley 23:45, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

No problem Thad. Glad I could help! --D.E.ATalk 10:27, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Dark Blue Helmet

Figured I'd ask this here, how do you get the background to appear black and how do you view the different fonts? I'm working on updating my wiki finally. Also, how do I create a user talk page? I thought I had one when I made my page to begin with. --Dark Blue Helmet 02:12, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

This is part of the coding from my page (I edited it for your page) - {| style="width:100%; font-family: sans-serif; background-color:Black; color:white"| . Just change sans-serif to whatever you like (the wiki is pre-set to using verdana I think, so if you want that as your font, just remove the font-family part of the coding). The color is what your font color will be. Stick this code in at the very top of your user page (I preview tested it so it'll work). Section titles work differenty so to give them color, use this <font color="color name">"title name"</font>. Any problems, let me know, either on my talk page or the forum. :) --D.E.ATalk 15:14, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm, I can't seem to get it to work.--Dark Blue Helmet 02:23, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Beau made the same mistake last night. You need to copy the code exactly as it is, from {| <-to this-> |. Make sure to put the "|" on a new line underneath ok. --D.E.ATalk 10:32, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
I can't tell if it worked on my stupid work computer. I do see a small black bar across the top of the page though. I'll have to check it out when I get home again. --Dark Blue Helmet 13:00, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
The reason you saw a black bar at the top is because you put in ->{|<- instead of just this ->|<-. Never mind though, I've fixed it for you.... you're welcome btw! :P --D.E.ATalk 15:01, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you look over Whiskey's wiki page and let me know what you think? Thanks. --Dark Blue Helmet 19:35, 12 March 2009 (UTC) |}
