Hey You !

Thought this would be a nice spot to say something *points up* (well that was not too smart of me... posted this on your user page under your ENVY & RHR bit! lol)

What am I gonna do with you? And I guess we were meant to meet each other tonight ;) Although you had killed me not too long ago so, I never take any chances with you anymore. You tend to have mood swings! lol

However, are you stalking me? Why do I keep thinking I see you somewhere else out of Malton? Could it be in Betaville? Might be easier there to take some long walks, no ? ;)

Catch me if you can sweetie :) --Murderess 01:24, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

You are jealous? How sweet... what confuses me is, well, jealous of what? The only thing I can see is that I'm being killed by others then you! lol Lets see how well you still serenade than. I'll look forward to that song, as long as it doesn't involve shotgun reloading noises ;)

If I do take a walk with you, I might have to frisk you ;) xxx --Murderess 00:02, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

If it was you that left me that sweet message, I'd love to be there but in case you don't show, I have a better chance at getting reved at the usual spot which is next to it :) If it was not you, I guess you should be jealous ;)--Murderess 00:41, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
I guess I do have another friend in game... was directions for a rev. Ah well! Good to know I have allies :) See you around Dearie :)--Murderess 23:48, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

exactly, and it was you who put them there! they've never zerged and never will.     : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 22:33, 13 October 2011
This handy example indicates that your characters were five squares away from one another when they were listed. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 16:24, 15 October 2011 (BST)

Yes, one alt got a little too close while on the Oktoberfest pub-crawl, but since when does five squares away count as zerging?     : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 18:02, 15 October 2011

Always. It's a part of the proximity clause for the anti-zerging countermeasures. At all times, you should maintain a ten-square distance from each of your other characters. Characters should not go within 10 squares of where another character has been in the same 24 hour period of time, as the game's countermeasures tracks that information, and counts it as zerging. We advise that you should keep a full suburb between your characters in the event that you lose track of where your characters have been. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 18:10, 15 October 2011 (BST)
Oh, didn't realize it was ten, but still there was no actual cooperative play etc, just a 12 hour period of five squares apart, one defending his beloved Ackland, the other drinking beer and breaking pool cues and wine bottles, don't think that actually makes these characters zergers even if they were only five squares apart. I only complained as the zerg-list listing was itself an attempt at grief by EmP.     : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 18:46, 15 October 2011
It's still zerging, regardless of the intent in posting. Playing two characters in the same area is considered zerging as far as the anti-zerging countermeasures cares, therefore, we abide by that rule. The idea is this: You have one character defending Ackland and keeping the zombies occupied with the siege. The other is free to flit and play in non-essential buildings as the horde is tied up elsewhere. There is a clear benefit to be found there, as the second alt is free to be able to spend AP role-playing, while the other alt works. A clear case of one alt benefiting from the work of a second. In addition, while not defending the mall, by being inside a building, the secondary alt provides at the bare minimum a meatshield role on the building that they occupy. A zombie would have to waste additional AP to kill your secondary character in order to ruin the building (say for removing free-running lanes).
On the flip-side, if a zombie player had a rotter alt chewing down the barricades at Ackland, but had another rotter alt at a nearby cemetery miming out Michael Jackson's Thriller with his friends, it would equally be zerging, as survivors will waste ammunition or revive syringes that might be better suited for defending the mall. Does that make any sense? --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 19:18, 15 October 2011 (BST)
Got to agree with Akule on this.
What you should do is to separate the characters by at least 10 spaces, take dumbwits and take them to appeal here. It's easy as that to get removed from the ZL the first time.
Arguing with Akule on the wiki on whether or not it is fair or not won't take you anywhere. The ZL has worked for years based on proximity, without any checks for alt intents. (Which in practice would be impossible to check for a third party anyway.) -- Spiderzed 19:30, 15 October 2011 (BST)
ah, okay, if that is the case we did technically zerg on that day. hadn't actually realized the alts were so close, plus had always assumed it referred to co-operative play. those alts live further than ten spaces apart, and don't need to do further pub-crawls, so it shouldn't ever be an issue again. thanks for clarifying though, i had assumed it was EmP metagriefing me     : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 19:35, 15 October 2011
I looked it up -(Kevan Davis) has stipulated: that your characters must "lead completely separate existences within the game - your characters should not collaborate, nor share (or stand outside) the same building"     : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 19:43, 15 October 2011
Yes, that is the bare-bones, simplified version that he put up in 2005. If you read my post above, you can see how your characters were not leading completely separate existences and were benefiting from one another. Through Kevan's posts and discussions with him, he has clarified that somewhat, and added to the anti-zerging countermeasures. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 19:50, 15 October 2011 (BST)
Let's look back at my example: If you found out that one player was playing a zombie who was bashing down the barricades at Ackland, and another who was doing nothing but standing and "talking" to other zombies at a revive point, wouldn't you get upset? After all, the second zombie, while living a "completely separate existence", is blocking revives from survivors who are eager to get back to defending Ackland. The fact of the matter is that this example, and what you were doing, is zerging, and was being tracked by the anti-zerging countermeasures. Over time you would have found that it would have gotten harder to defend Ackland, until you eventually couldn't hit, and then one day you would find your character banned. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 19:56, 15 October 2011 (BST)
The rules clearly spell out against co-operative play due to the high instances of cheating, however the countermeasures do not discriminate between such things as a player playing someone fighting zombies at the siege with one alt and smashing barricades as a zombie in the same area with another. The rules don't specifically state that players couldn't hot seat a character (multiple players taking turns playing a single character), but the DHPD had quite a few members banned a long time ago because of that practice with their desk sergeants. Not to worry though. Once delisted, as long as you keep them both apart, there shouldn't be a problem. --Akule Maker of fine, hand-crafted UDWiki sass since 2006 -- Akule School's back in session™ 19:50, 15 October 2011 (BST)

Grudge?

Hey there Bill. I've noticed that for a while, you seem to have a grudge against members of the Richmond Hills Regulars group, more so it's top members. I just wanted to ask why? --TheBardofAwesome 16:27, 15 October 2011 (BST)

Why thanks for stopping by :) I just have a better understanding of fair play as I dont need 5-10 alts to protect my roleplay jerk.--EmPathetic Bill 20:36, 18 October 2011 (BST)

One hit wonder

That's what we had, that time up in Richmond Hills. Ah, the laughs in the studio, the drunken parties after each long recording session, not to mention the groupies.
Wait, I never had any of that. You fuckers used my talent (lol, punnage) to further your own flash in the pan careers. Well, I haz the last laff, cos my careeer is still going strong, and where are you? In the 50p bargain bin, that's where. Rasp.gif
Still, no hard feelings, eh? We'll do a reunion tour one day and rekindle the magic of the good old days. Have a template, my old mucker. Never know, you might be able to hock it on eBay for a bottle of Thunderbird. Content.gif
