Adding Color to Locations

Hey, you there! Internet person!
Just wanted to say I like your notion to add some personality to the many, many anonymous locations around Malton - if that's what you're doing. If you're up to some kind of nefarious plan to reshape Malton to your liking with the evil maniacal laughter and the hey hey - well, it still looks kind of nifty. --Ginormous (talk) 21:06, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello fellow internet person! - Im glad that someone is taking notice, and even liking my effort on making the wiki a bit more exciting! I lurked around Rosslessness for a bit and found a lot of inspiration - so hopefully many of the stubs are going to get removed! How about a little bit of poignancy? Some of the towers would have been residence blocks. Apartments, or lobbies thereof, with strewn photo albums, children's toys, pictures on the wall, broken TV, etc. (I gather you're creating some randomizers that drop items into the fields.) I've tended to think of the empty blocks as having ruined foundations at this point, but that's just me. And don't forget the 13 years of spraypaint layering that must be holding half of the buildings together at this point! :) Is that the kind of input that's helpful? --Ginormous (talk) 21:20, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

I was afraid of getting over-cynical when writing some of the background stories - so some of them will be a little less dark - but poignancy is to come! You already gave me a lot to work into some of the stories "current status" parts. I really like the idea of a more personal touch to the locations so I will most likely use most, if not all of the input on the tower, which btw are GREAT! Let's see -

Office Building - coffee and tea mugs with random (#1 Boss, Best Dad/Mum, Mondays, etc.), (kitten, scenic, girlie, puppy, cartoon) calendar for 2005 on the floor, broken office phones, papers, office chairs, now unimportant ledgers and papers, smashed monitors and keyboards

Stores - SO much can be done, store type, a couple of random descrips ranging from funny (costume shop with only (clown/sexy pizza/giant baby etc) costume on the rack), to sad (pet store with empty and just bones in cages and murky tanks), to prosaic (hardware store or pharmacy but everything that could possibly be of use is gone after all of this time)

Schools - Elementary, high school (or UK equivalent, I forget), Nursery, Kindergarten - torn posters for events of appropriate age, desks stripped of tops, the wreckage of teacher's desks, empty spaces where whiteboards were now covered with profane and despairing graffiti

I can go on like this for a while! Speaking of tags, while those do change dynamically in game, you could have a whole sub randomizing (or however your doing it) element with different categories of tags being almost covered up or faded with time - tags for historical groups, references to historical events, a forgotten message, a long past threat, a plea to God, an epitaph - as I said, I can go on a bit :) --Ginormous (talk) 20:11, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
