Jleggitt's Talk page

Ok all this is my talk page I am brand new at working with the Wiki so please give me some time to figure it out, also if anyone can provide any assistance that would be good too. thanks--Jleggitt 16:30, 12 April 2007 (BST)

Requesting Assistance!

Hello, you already know me as Private Mark, so I'll get on to the main point: Yagoton has become a hell hole ever since the recent ruin-ability update. After being forced out of our ancient home, we, the Abandoned are planning to strike back and wrestle the control of the suburb back into survivor hands. But capable hands are short, as well as time. We need as many allies as we can muster for us to become victorious. Will you help us? Contact us ASAP at abandoned.lucien.cx. --Private Mark 04:37, 29 August 2007 (BST)

Murder by a Malton Ranger

Hello, I am Private Mark of the Abandoned, and I am here to investigate the murder of one of our members by someone named "MadButcher" ID#770510, who claims to be in your group. Here's the evidence: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Image:Pk4bd2.JPG If you can, please verify that this member is or IS NOT a member of your group, so that we may proceed with how to deal with his actions. If you do not reply in a set amount of time, we will take action immediately.--Private Mark 18:47, 7 August 2007 (BST)

I thank you for the reply, our members will deal with MadButcher shortly.--Private Mark 17:18, 10 August 2007 (BST)

Yeah I decided that I should really try this wiki thing out we see how it goes, also voting is the plan for right now actually--Jleggitt 20:43, 17 April 2007 (BST)
mind if I add some more ranger and DHG templates to your user page?----Sexualharrison MR ה TStarofdavid2.png Boobs.gif 13:56, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Don't do it, harrison! You'll get warned for vandalism again!--Lachryma 13:58, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Not if I tell him that it is ok to add them, If they warn him for vandalism again I will tell them I told him to after he asked me... actually harrison I order you to add more ranger templates to my user page.--JleggittMR 16:17, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Also Harrison I have the Malton Rangers page copied to my sandbox if we ever need to make edits to the page so if you feel that you need to edit the Rangers page I give you permission to do that on my sandbox as well, just don't end up calling me a biking biker like Amazing--JleggittMR 16:21, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Is somebody too lazy busy to add ranger templates himself? Anyway, if you really, really want to tell harrison something, you might wanna use his talk page. The odds of him seeing this, what with his ADD, are low.--Lachryma 12:04, 6 June 2007 (BST)
Its ok he will be back he cant help him self--JleggittMR 15:53, 6 June 2007 (BST)
Yeah shut it you filthy Russian whore. go back to your own dam talk page. now what the hell were we talking about? ooooh templates!----Sexualharrison MR ה TStarofdavid2.png Boobs.gif 15:00, 19 June 2007 (BST)

You asked for a mentor?

I'm here to answer any questions you may have about editing the wiki and the due process of which is needed to do so. Just ask your questions below and I will answer them to the best of my abilities. Also I noticed that you're a Malton Ranger, good for you man, great guys over there. I'm with the DHPD myself, and the two of us, tight as ticks man. You need anything, let me know. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 23:21, 2 May 2007 (BST)

well I have a few questions the first is how to edit my signature so that it can display things like malton rangers in super or sub script, how to create a user page with different backgrounds and the menus for the different sections just some basic stuff like that in case I need to make any major edits to our pages. Jleggitt 03:48, 3 May 2007 (BST)
Whoa, those aren't basic requests I assure you, but I can help you out. Lets do the signature first, as creating menus and backgrounds... well, they're a bit more complex. To create a signature, click on "my preferences" in the top left of your page. After that, click on the box next to "Raw signatures (without automatic link)." After that, whatever you place in "Nickname" will be used when you sign your name. As an example, you could put JleggittMalton Rangers, which would show up as JleggittMalton Rangers. If you'd like to do something more complex, such as using a template for a signature, let me know. However, I don't want to go to fast. But for backgrounds and menus, you're talking at least a couple weeks to get everything working properly and it can all go wrong so easily. For a redesign of that magnitude, you'll probably need to create a personal sandbox to set the page up in. In fact, I'm doing a little something like that myself for the DHPD page. If you want to see how it's coming along, click here. If you're truly set on doing all that stuff, tell me and I'll help walk you through it. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 23:12, 3 May 2007 (BST)
Yeah I know those are some complex things to do mostly the first thing I was wondering about was just the signature, The others are just goals for me to eventually learn to do, I do have a question about adding things to a signature once you are in the editor, and I wanted to link another page on wiki how would I do that.
Simple. Just add before and after whatever page you wanted to link to. As an example, if you wanted to link to the Zombie page, just write Zombie, which make Zombie. See? Not that hard. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 00:34, 4 May 2007 (BST)
ok cool thanks for the help with that, I also just found dux ducis projects page and that seems to have a bunch of stuff about editing your signature as well I may try some messing around here where I can't do much harm.(notice the fun new sig)--JleggittMR 00:48, 4 May 2007 (BST)
Very nice! I'm here to help with anything you need, so if you need help, just let me know. I can begin teaching you how to set up backgrounds and menus if you like. I'm something of a template maker myself, so I have experience in that area. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 01:27, 4 May 2007 (BST)
I like the templates their pretty good. I think the next thing I would like to try is changing the background colors of page how would you do that.--JleggittMR 23:44, 4 May 2007 (BST)
Eh... making them by scratch is kinda difficult, especially the more complex ones. It's also difficult to explain... alright, lets start simple. This is an example of a simple border/background: <div style="background-color:white; border: groove 5px LightBlue; padding:5px; color:#000033"> ; placing that at the top of a page will make a border just like the one I have on my page, just like this:
Look at me! I'm using HTML!
You can change the background-color to anything you want, whether it be in standard words or by using HTML. That's the simple, bare bones way. You can change just about any aspect of the backgrounds and borders and styles. In fact, I'm doing something like that myself with the DHPD page. Don't overwhelm yourself, cause it's quite a sight to behold. HTML is kinda something you teach yourself as you go along, or read up on a manual or guide somewhere. Mostly I just taught myself, but I don't quite know enough to teach someone else about it yet. Your best bet is to do a little research yourself on the internet. I hope I was of some help. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 00:13, 5 May 2007 (BST)
Hey thanks for all of the help I have a sandbox started now to try messing around with things, also check out the my user page and let me know that you think.--JleggittMR 17:32, 6 May 2007 (BST)
You're making great progress Jleggitt, I'm sure you'll turn out to be a great contributer to the Wiki. If you need help with anything else, let me know. My door is always open. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 17:39, 6 May 2007 (BST)
hey thanks, for now it seems much easier than I thought I would be granted I am not doing many complex things yet but for the most part its pretty straight foward just alot of coding to remember after a little longer working with stuff here I am ask for help on creating a template or something but for now I am quite satisfied thanks again for all the help.--JleggittMR 17:48, 6 May 2007 (BST)

Temporary Malton Ranger Forum

Hey Jleggitt, with the NMC forums down I've set us up a new one here. Sign up there and report in please. Also tell any other Rangers you come across about the new forum. Once the NMC boards are back up we'll be using them again.

Also I know I already told you about the forum in game, just trying to inform as many people as I can in every way I can.--Lord Wulfgar 23:58, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

No not a problem I was going to send you a message about trying to get an emergency fourm set up somewhere. Also have you explored monroeville yet at all its pretty cool. I am somewhere in the west part but I dont really have any clue yet.--JleggittMR 00:02, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

RE. Monroeville Many

Sure, no problem. I'll word around it. It was mainly because most of the zombies in the area are getting MoL very fast, and just pointing out that many of the local TRP's barricade levels are very low, but I guess it is kind of biased towards us so I'll change it. I can see what you mean about getting off to a fresh start. Thanks for being so kind about it. If there's any more problems in the future just come to my talk page and I'll try and sort it out. Acoustic Pie 17:21, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome, heh, if you ever are thinking about joining the darker side in Monroeville, give our group a go! It'd be nice to have some more people around. If not, good look in whatever you're doing with it. Acoustic Pie 20:16, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Sure thing, although this leaves me in a bit of a sticky predicament, as what can I say? I hope you die soon? Heh, either way good luck and hope to see you soon. Also, if you know anyone in your group who want to do something after they die (if they are branching out in Monroeville that is), please do tell them about us! It seems kind of a waste to not play after you die and we're always on the lookout for members. Still, thanks again and good luck in whatever you do! Acoustic Pie 16:14, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
