Recruitment

Ad in need of updating!
Your ad on the recruitment page will soon be removed, it needs to be updated because of expiration. You have 1-2 days to update your ad, if no action is taken it will be removed.

Feel free to remove this warning.

Whitehouse 19:15, 12 September 2007 (BST)

Ok first thing you do is create a page for your ad. Your ad page should be named (just click that link and begin editing): Phoenix Division/recruit. Now once you have that page, simply fill in all the stuff that you want to have in your ad (simply copying and pasting current info works), the only things that you shouldn't have on there is headers, and timestamps.

Now if you want to make the timestamping easier, I suggest you place {{{1}}} on your ad page, where you want the timestamp to appear.

Once you have finished making the page and editing it to what you want it to look like you go to recruitment and put in:

==[[GDI, Phoenix Division|Phoenix Division]] : Survivor==
{|
|-
|
{{:Phoenix Division/recruit|~~~~}}
|}

Only put the "|~~~~" in if you used the {{{1}}} on your ad page, otherwise just put your signature after {{Phoenix Division/recruit}}.

Just go ahead and begin with it, then post it on the recruitment page. And I'll take a look at it and correct any mistakes and report back to you. - Whitehouse 19:55, 12 September 2007 (BST)

Ok, problem is your sig. Just use ~~~~~ instead of your signature. Or else it won't work. Or you could use ~~~~ (I think..). Second thing, move your ad to the alphabetical location. After that you are done. - Whitehouse 22:12, 13 September 2007 (BST)

Moved it for you, and just set you to a standard sig. Feel free to tinker around or change things. If you want to use your full sig I suggest you set it up as:

==[[GDI, Phoenix Division|Phoenix Division]] : Survivor==
{|
|-
|
{{:Phoenix Division/recruit}}
Last update: ~~~~
|}

I think that will allow for your sig to work. - Whitehouse 22:29, 13 September 2007 (BST)

After 14 days with no update ads get removed. Though it is better to do it more often to avoid the risk of forgetting. - Whitehouse 21:26, 14 September 2007 (BST)

Bugs

Looking for this? (It's used for wiki bugs as well as game bugs.) --   Toejam     01:00, 4 July 2007 (BST)

sig

That picture in your sig is too big (and annoying), please change it to comply with this policy -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 09:54, 28 June 2007 (BST)

Better :) -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 02:53, 29 June 2007 (BST)

Oops, sorry about that. Probably the best place to put it is on Wiki Questions, or ask someone who may know -- boxy T Nuts2U DA 01:53, 3 July 2007 (BST)

'Bout That There Ackland Mall

To my knowledge every mall I've ever been in has attempted to keep all sections at EHB as a security precaution against roaming zombies, so I am not entirely sure that 'overcading' applies to malls. Also, I think that the Havercroft Barricade Plan calls for the mall to be kept unenterable except via free running. However, about the over-barricading of surrounding buildings, I'll try and spread the word a bit. Pedentic 02:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Page Deletion

Might I suggest you put your groups former page, that now redirects, up for either deletion or speedy deletion? SuperMario24 21:09, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Damn you got a quick eye. How would I be going about that? Also if TSO wishes an Alliance I'll gladly accept. Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander

I have to for alot of things I do. Also, look on the main page in the bottom right area for speedy deletion and deletion and see if you qualify for speedy deletion, then either submit it for deletion or speedy deletion. Second, I can't organize an alliance and it probably won't be recognized until you get at least 5 members. At that time I'll submit it and it should probably go through. SuperMario24 21:15, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Alright no problem. Added to the que. 5 members? I'll see what I can scrounge up.Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander

You need to give it a title as well as sign it. SuperMario24 21:28, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

It was deleted regardless, and I was wrong, you do not give it a title in the speedy deletion queue. Instead, you put it in a bullet. SuperMario24 23:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, if you plan on operating out of Grigg Heights, there was going to be a TSO division there, however it is on temporary hold. SuperMario24 22:03, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I've already moved out of Grigg Heights and am now in north blythvill. I'm trying to head northward.Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander

Very well. Also, if you need help configuring your groups wiki page for whatever suburb you eventually claim, contact me. Also, use 4~ to sign. It provides a time as well as your username. SuperMario24 05:27, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Yah I know it does that but I don't like to because it won't display in my timzone. And don't worry I'm not proud to call for help when I need it.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 02:24, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Spelling and Text Assistance

If you would like, I could help with grammar and such for your group. Also, if you send me over a vague history of it, I could try and flesh out your group page. Just offering to help. SuperMario24 20:01, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks That would be appreciated. you can go to [1] for information about Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun. Since I have the game I will type up some of the manuals contents later but I am grounded right now and I won't be able to get on very often for a month. --Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 20:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I have the game as well, as well as a detailed history tie in of all the CC games. Over the next week or so, I will assist in fleshing out your groups page, however, I would suggest you get more members before actually forming a group. When you have members, please reply with a profile link to each on of them. Until that time, your group won't really be a group. :p SuperMario24 20:26, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

good point I will try and persuade a few friends in the community to join the game. I will also put in a recruitment request on the recruitment page. BTW is it where is the best place to contact you? Your Wiki page or some other medium?--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 20:35, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Contacting through the topic on my wiki page will be fine. I am currently providing some background history on your group. One question though, when exactly was it formed? I'm guessing 2028. SuperMario24 20:40, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Well there are already a few fan fics mentioning them on the project perfect mod forums, but all evidence I found points to the date of formation being in TWII near or during the Firestorm Campaign.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 20:44, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Very well, Tiberian Sun, when it is first introduced is set in 2030. You may decide on a date. SuperMario24 20:46, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Alright. August 24, 2030 shall be the date. I'll see if a friend of mine can cook up a cool looking logo for Phoenix Division specifically.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 20:57, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Very well. I might want to add that you must be wary of copyright laws and such, so that your pictures are not deleted. You should be able to get your cleared however, as long as you state that while uploading the picture that it is no way, shape, or form, trying to use any of the images for profit and that it is necessary for representation of it. Any custom images should be perfectly ok. This is all the info I can offer you, at this time. SuperMario24 20:58, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Alright no problem. And I doubt EA would crack down on this. Technically nodding is copyright infringement and they allow it.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 21:00, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

However, certain wiki members...not naming anyone in particular...will put them up regardless. Sad, but true. Also, I have finished the history segment of your groups page. SuperMario24 21:03, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch. I am currently in Grigg Heights. Do you know the fastest way to get the nearest military structures?--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 21:06, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

So your goal isn't the defense of Caiger Mall? Just need to know for the page. Also, the only specific military buildings are Fort Perryn and Fort Creedy, both quite a distance away. Use this to navigate. Also, just put that copyright thing on your talk page for now and remember to add it to the summary when uploading more pictures. As a side note, might I suggest shrinking the picture on your main page, it is far too large. SuperMario24 21:11, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

My groups goal is the retaking of if its zombie infested but if not defend it and send out raiding parties but first I need supplies and IMO where better to find supplies than a military base. After all I just started playing and am a level 1 lol. I might shrink it but don't really have time atm.--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 21:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Try reading a guide like this. It may help you get the mechanics of the game. Also, no need to cross Malton for ammo, guns, and supplies. SuperMario24 21:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for all your help but I have to get going now dad could be home any time now and I don't want him to find out I'm violating his punishment--Colonel O'Neil, ORCACommander 21:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

You will need to add your groups objectives, member list, ranking system (if you decide to have one, I might be able to help with that), and allies. I will flesh out the history a bit more over the next week or two. By the way, you might be better off picking a suburb to stay in rather than heading for Caiger. I say this because you can get alot more accomplished if you pick one or two suburbs to stay in , hold, and recruit from. Let me know about your decision, just offering some solid advice.
