About the Siege of Caiger Mall . . . I think that something like it could happen again, but it'd take a lot more luck than the original Siege did, especially considering the Headshot nerf and the BB Upgrade. Now, the Headshot alteration made things more difficult right there, but the BB upgrade makes it nearly impossible on its own, and combined with the Headshot nerf, that makes it damn near impossible to pull off again.

Now I agree that large buildings should be hard to defend, and in a way they were even before Big Building and Headshot nerf kicked in - you could hold the other three sections and send raiding parties out against occupied sections, sniping at the zombies and then pulling back, but personally I don't think that was quite hard enough.

I think Big Building, though, goes too far the other way, and there needs to be some sort of strategic balance between the two. Occupying chokepoints is a standard military tactic, whenther it's on the macro scale (entire divisions of armed forces duking it out in, say, a hilly region) or the micro (small groups engaged in urban combat, which is basically what Urban Dead is all about: it's an urban combat simulation with zombies).

Long story short, I'd love to work with you on this. It'd be more realistic, and while some people would say I shouldn't argue realism in a zombie apocalypse, I think the more real you can make this game the better it'll be in the long run (just so long as the realism doesn't go overboard - there is such a thing as too much realism). --John Taggart 19:27, 12 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Blahblahblah

  • I have restarted discussion on suggestion alterations. Lets work on getting something established, and added to the rules - so all of us 'usual voters' can be on the same page with this issue. --Blahblahblah 18:30, 6 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Just giving you a heads up - I'm posting a new version of Dart Rifle. I see you are veering off in a slightly different direction if you are still planning on doing another version yourself. I'm going to give one more shot at a slightly altered version of what you have with the original. If mine does well, or even if it does poorly, you should still post what you are working on - as it will be different (and perhaps better) than this version I am posting in a few minutes. I hope I'm not stepping on your toes by doing this, I just liked what you had with the first version and want to see if a slightly altered version of it will do better. --Blahblahblah 19:20, 9 Feb 2006 (GMT)

ah well, such is life. I thought it was a great idea anyways. It's funny, the people so adamantly against the slow acting revive part - it would actually help them, giving them time to plot out their next move before succumbing to the serum (and the argument that it was too hard to recover from - when there is NO way to recover from revives currently, I couldn't find the logic in them). I know I'd rather have my zombies revived that way, and it would give me a challenge (challenge = fun) to try and recover from it - but oh well. I think if revives themselves weren't in the game, and someone made a suggestion to introduce them - it would not make it to peer review :). --Blahblahblah 17:22, 14 Feb 2006 (GMT)

NecroTech Rifle, and what not: a reply
