It should be noted that Cheveyo and at least 2 alts continue to be active and griefing in vinetown. Recently killing Ross's character Mike Carson for "mouthing off". I think he protests too much. --[[User:DariusAPB|DariusAPB]] 12:56, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

For all your Zerg Based Discussions

A+ work, would read and click on copious sexy thumbnails again. Though very unlikely, it's possible they're just very strong roleplayers and have a consistently weird style of writing they agreed on in a back room. The timing stuff is ridiculous, however, as is the fact that lots of the members have tons of posts on the forum. Chev being quick to jump on someone else for "zerging" is interesting to note, too. Thinks like a zerger, perhaps? Definitely worth a closer look. You intend to present this to them at all and see how they respond? --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 20:24, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I've PM'd all the members of the forum I haven't identified as possible zergers, group members and allies alike, presenting them with the evidence. I'll leave it for the group to make its own conclusions. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:29, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Have you thought about talking to the ZHU? --

Sadface. There is a typo. I can't find it again, but you used "there" instead of "their" of "they're". And I will come up with a counter-point, if only to get a free cookie. -- Rahrah wants you all to know that MOM is open now. 21:11, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Also, you might want to point out that Dave Radcliffe, m dear and J Long all posted in the recruitment section within a minute of each other. -- Rahrah wants you all to know that MOM is open now. 21:14, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Meh. They don't fufil any of the other criteria. Different descriptions, no shared screenshots, different join dates and no shared log on times. Plus dave radcliffe was active in vinetown for the whole of the last year. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:27, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Now that's making a strong case. Unlike others (*cough*) I have seen in the past, this one actually has some good points. Nice job Ross, although the amount of work you did is outrageous for my own lazy standards D; --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 21:52, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I dono about zerging, but as you may remember, they did a damn good job of hunting me down earlier this year. :/ -- ¯\(°_o)/¯ 21:57, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Wow, that's one hell of a case. I could have sworn I PKed Chev or one of the other members, but I can't find him on my list. I guess I'll just have to get back into PKing... --ZsL 22:32, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Not really proving anything. But I dug up some a message from Cheveyo off the old FOD fourm. --Michalesonbadge.pngTCAPD(╯°□°)╯ ┻━┻ 23:08, 17 January 2010 (UTC) Cheveyo speaking.JPG

I concur. There are too many damn red flags for this NOT to be true. (plus, the zerging is probably why they don't use RG- because it's probably a hugeass hassle when you're reporting for five alts. --Penguinpyro 23:56, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

This will be my first and last time answer these false allegations. I am not a zerger and I never have been. You will notice that my character has been around a long time. A lot longer than the rest of the people in the group. There is no reason for this at all. This is a game. But, you are trying to make this personal. It seems that you could do a lot more important things than this with your time. And by the way, I never accused you of zerging. Maybe someone else did that. But I can guarantee you that it was not me. It seems you are going after the wrong person here. --Cheveyo 11:23, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

You really should dispute at least something about what he said. He's presented a mountain of decently-compelling evidence, and you've presented a simple statement. For outsiders to this whole situation, such as myself, you can guess how this must look. If what he's saying is so patently false, challenge it. Dispute his claims. Tell us not just that he's wrong but why and how he's wrong. Personally speaking, if someone attacked my integrity like he's essentially attacked yours, I wouldn't stand for it, and I don't know how any other innocent person could either. Aichon 13:08, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
At least HE'S not being a jerk. Jerk.-- ¯\(°_o)/¯ 13:14, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Since you first posted this, most of the characters have removed the "..." from their description. The timing is interesting. --AORDMOPRI ! T19:27, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Response To Chev

Hello Chev. Thanks for responding. If you didn't spraypaint an entire suburb to accuse me of zerging, fair enough. I don't have any evidence that is was you, only a strong suspicion. As your post on the AZS chatboard does show, you do accuse people of zerging. I can only apologise if this was not the case.

Yes. Your first character was active long before the other alts. I can't dispute that. However I strongly disagree that this is proof you aren't zerging. I believe that no one comes to the game on day 1 with the clear idea of cheating. We all start with one character, learn about the game and its mechanics and over time, learn about other things. Then over the weeks and years we create alts to experience different sides of the game.

Which is interesting as you've only got one declared alt. Never fancied being a zombie, or running two independent characters? I mean, you only need 50ip hits to run one character right?

But then again, 4 of the 6 original characters I accused you of zerging with? All were created between the 8th and the 16th of December 2007. All four of them registered on your forum on the 19th December 2007. All of them write ... in the exact same style ...

If you have nothing to do with any of these alts, then does it not worry you that they're all acting in a remarkably similar way? I'd do a full investigation of the group. Looks like you've got a determined zerger in your midsts whose been duping you for years. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:50, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

tl;dr, Chev's a zerger or to stupid to recognize a zerger in his group.-- ¯\(°_o)/¯ 20:21, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Response to the accusations

Ok guys. I will try to explain what is happening or has happened. I am an English teacher in Asia. I taught in Korea for five years and am now teaching in Thailand. Being as this is a game that you have to read and understand in order to play the game. Some students are encouraged to participate and play. I tell them the group name and they join it. Their English isn't that good so they tend to copy the style of the leader. That is why there tends to be the similarity in posting styles. Also, they tend to log on when they are at school on the same server. So they take turns to play and post as they are unable to log on as multiple users on the same system. And that is why it seems that a few people joined the group one after the other, created their characters near the same times, and post in a similar manner. I really am upset about all these accusations as it seems quite personal. I don't think it is needed. I am sorry to Penguinpyro for accusing him of being a zerger. I admit that was a mistake. Sometimes, you are just trying to get a response. And it seems that matter has been cleared up. And I will ask Penguinpyro to accept my apology. I was wrong to do that. Personal attacks are not needed in this game. We all love our characters and sometimes we do take things personally. But in the end, it is still a game that we all enjoy. --Cheveyo 09:16, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

You're an English teacher who writes in broken sentence fragments connected by misused ellipses? And you encourage your pupils to do the same? (I don't believe an English teacher would produce the sentence "Being as this is a game that you have to read and understand in order to play the game.")
Your pupils play when you play and stop when you stop? And their characters are drawn from a clearly American cultural palette not a Korean or Thai one?
I think your explanation above is a collection of lies, and I think you are a cheat. Billy Forks 09:54, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
You can believe what you want Billy. That decision is up to you. This is an online game and they play in the Asian time zone. This is turning into a personal attack and I don't think it is needed. I have given an explanation of events that have transpired in the past. That is all. I have not attacked you personally. Yet, you are attacking me. Why are you doing that? I think it is time to let things go. This isn't solving anything at all. And things will just escalate if things continue the way they are. In my opinion, this page is a personal attack. And I feel that the right thing should be done. I have not attacked you personally and I think that this needs to stop. --Cheveyo 12:12, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

No, i was just going to check if there was a school in a town/city in Thailand, where students were taught English. If he couldn't provide one, we'd know he was lying, and if he could on short notice, then he'd almost definitely be telling the truth. but it doesn't matter, because of the privacy issues which I'd forgotten about.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! "I have not attacked you personally. Yet, you are attacking me. Why are you doing that?"
I haven't previously attacked you personally. You have slandered my group and one of it's oldest members, you've cheated against us, and now you're telling a lot of ridiculous lies about your actions. And you try to adopt this 'wounded innocence' tone? You are a liar and a cheat, and that isn't a personal attack, that's an accurate description based on your actions.
And who comes off worst in all this? Well, it's your own friends - the honest members of Blackhawk Nation. Have they had any good battles, have they done anything cool? I expect so. Were there other players out there who thought "Those BHN guys, they were pretty effective!" Probably. But you've covered all of that with shit, haven't you? What's BHN's reputation now? "Those BHN guys, it was all that one zerging, lying piece of shit, Cheveyo."
Well done, moron. Billy Forks 08:56, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Another Response

Thanks Chev. You've been teaching the same children English for three years? Thats strange. Their English isn't good, so they copy the style of the leader? really. After three years of tutelage?

Heres my favourite question. remember the screenshots?

User:Rosslessness/Hmm#Day5

All taken off GMT time. Plug that into a converter to Thailand time, and thats, +7 hours.

Are you really telling me that your students were logging on, one after another between 8.46pm, and 9.35 pm On a sunday night ? Thats a pretty commited school you have there. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 13:37, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

I had the same english teacher for 4 years, it's not that strange on secondary school...but yeah, a very unconvincing story of him overall. Still, I imagine that for Korean and Thais students, who probably never used the latin alphabet, english is a hard language even after three years. Hell, I had 3 years of French, still can barely do anything with it. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 13:46, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

A few things.

"I taught in Korea for five years and am now teaching in Thailand."

Now I don't know why you wrote this, but I guess you think its relevant. Now, this means one of two things.

  1. You started a new job last year. This would explain the large gap between posts on the forum for all the accounts.
  2. Its an irrelevant fact. You started your new job several years ago. This does not explain the gap of 10 months between the posts of all the forum accounts.

Now if 1 is true, then yes it would explain why there was a gap between the posts. You didn't have any students to practice their english in the game.

However

When you started this new job, moving from Korea to Thailand did all the students move with you? Because otherwise, how would your new students be able to log into the accounts that your original students had created. Unless you had all the passwords. In which case, well done, you've confirmed that you have the ability to zerg with all these accounts.

"Their English isn't that good so they tend to copy the style of the leader. That is why there tends to be the similarity in posting styles."

Reading through your forum, I've found no evidence in any of your "students posts" of

  • Spelling Mistakes other than the odd missed capitalisation.
  • Misuse of Tenses
  • Incorrect sentence structure.

Other than ... the ... weird typing style ...

Posts like the one below also make me question this statement.

Alan.PNG

It seems this "Student" was clever enough to read the wiki, understand about reviving, DNA extraction and the target stack.

Thats very clever of him.

"Being as this is a game that you have to read and understand in order to play the game. "

Thats fair. It is a game where people should be able to read and understand.

However, today. The profiles of 8 of the 11 alts were changed. To ... remove ... the ... writing style ...

Amongst these were Jeffrey Black and bad billy

So I assume they are your "students" as well.

If you are encouraging english use. Why aren't they registered on the forum? That would be the perfect place for them to use their english writing skills, would it not? Otherwise, how could you justify devoting teaching time to playing the game? Or is it all done in their break times? Because that would be strange. Logging on one after another to a forum, and having to get you to check their spelling everytime. When do you get a break?

Oh yeah. And you still haven't explained how they all logged on one after another at 9 o'clock at night on a sunday evening.

Thanks --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:24, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh snap. I have nothing against you or BHN personally Cheveyo, but Mr. Ross has just torn apart your abili big-time. --Penguinpyro 02:42, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah you seem pretty cool Pyro. Sorry about the accusation. This is enough Ross. It is funny that this is happening after the BHN kicked all of the zeds out of St Ferreols. This seems to be the main reason as you cannot believe that a group would have its members launch a timed assault in order to accomplish a task. And, it is strange that when one St Ferreol's zed wakes up. Five or six more suddenly wake up and get back in the hospital as well. Why is that? You seem to love claiming other people are zerging. But remember I am not the one claiming you are a zerge. It seems that you have started this witch hunt because you believed that I was calling you a zerge. I never did. Maybe you should try to find out the real person who is doing it. Instead of wasting your time harassing the person who didn't do it. But, if you insist on calling me a zerge. Maybe I should create ten new characters and devote my time to hunting you down. Nothing else will matter except the fact that you will be dead everytime. I don't have any now. But if this keeps us, I guess I might as well. If I am going to be accused of it. I might as well do it. And what a better target than you. Leave me alone and get a life. I am tired of you. You need to move on. This is abuse. If this is the best thing that you have to do in your free time, I actually feel sorry for you. What a sorry life that must be. Now get over it and clean this up and find the real person. Because someone is calling you out and it is not me. Remember that. --Cheveyo 09:26, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

There's a lot of questions there. I'll try and answer them all.
  • "It is funny that this is happening after the BHN kicked all of the zeds out of St Ferreols."
If you look at the evidence I posted, I actually began collating screenshots and forum log in times several days before that happened. As soon as the accusations were made. it took a long time to type it all up.
  • "it is strange that when one St Ferreol's zed wakes up. Five or six more suddenly wake up and get back in the hospital as well. Why is that?"
when did this happen? Have you got any real proof that this is happening systematically? Screenshots, forum log in times? No. you don't. Perhaps if you did you could create a wki page detailing all those claims. You'll note how further up this page the groups leader User:Billy Forks has chimed in. Perhaps you should discuss that with him?
  • You seem to love claiming other people are zerging.
care to point to any single other case where I've declared anyone else of zerging?
  • "Maybe I should create ten new characters and devote my time to hunting you down."
be my guest. I particularly like your choice of number. Because 10 is the exact number of additional alts I claimed you were zerging with.
  • "I don't have any (alts) now. But if this keeps us, I guess I might as well. If I am going to be accused of it."
So rather than letting it go, as you suggest, you're willing to zerg me out of the game. What point will that prove?

--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:30, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Let's go to arbitration. I have had enough of you. --Cheveyo 09:41, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Billy Forks here. To Cheveyo:

People kick us out of SFH all the time, of course. Fortress have done it, Boardsies, of course the main resident group Knights Templar have done it. We just take it back, eat anyone left inside. Obviously we can't hold SFH 100% of the time, I never expected that, and we don't get hysterical and start zerging or accusing others of zerging when we get temporarily booted out. It's all normal for the game. (If you have evidence of cheating from SFHNAS, show me. I won't lose sleep over your accusations because you fling them about all the time, without any evidence. You believe everyone is a cheat just because you are one.)

The evidence Ross presented that you zerg with many alts is overwhelming, and your response is feeble. Ross has already picked that apart, but I'd like to point out something else: If your first post on this page had been "Uh-oh, I've just realised how bad this must look to an outsider, but here's how it happened", and you'd immediately explained, that would have been the response of an innocent person unlucky with circumstances. You went for angry denial first, and once you'd had 24 hrs to make up a story you came back, and that looks to me like the reaction of a cheat caught cheating.

The evidence that you are responsible for the graffiti slandering Ross is circumstantial, but strong:

  • You had a quarrel with him over some other issue in some other suburb.
  • The graffiti specifies Ross, not by the name of his SFH alt, but as you've interacted with him before.
  • It started appearing at the same moment you arrived - your introductory post on the Knights Templar board saying 'lets attack SFHNAS' was 6th Jan., pretty much the same time as the graffiti started. (plus or minus a day or two, but we've never had zerging accusations sprayed round K'bank in the SFHNAS's 1.5-year history.)
  • You have a record of accusing people of zerging whenever you fight against them - Angels of Mercy, penguinpyro.
  • The graffiti contains... wait for it... your fingerprint ellipses: http://iamscott.net/1263988553566.html and http://iamscott.net/1263840501883.html.

The evidence is that you are a liar and a cheat. Mend your ways or fuck right off, lowlife. Billy Forks 12:22, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

So, Chev, have you yet thought about "addressing the substance of the evidence" yet? It might solve your problems. --Penguinpyro 05:24, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

A few more things just occurred to me:

  • In those DumbWit reports, a lack of overlap isn't the only issue: the characters attack in the same order every time (Bad Billy -> Sister Christian -> angelsofmercy zerger). Every strike team I know of acts in parallel. If they were attacking like a strike team made of several unique individuals, you'd expect the kills to be in a different order sometimes.
    • Counter: Chev's students probably share a single computer and log on right after one another each night, based on the activity we've seen.
    • Retort: Except that if they did that, the in-game zerging countermeasures should detect them. After all, you're not supposed to be doing that anyway.
  • Why didn't any of the unique individuals behind the alleged zerging characters come to Chev's defense. After all, Chev disbanded his group because of these allegations, so they must've heard of it from him, and if not from him, Ross PMed this page to all of them. Surely group members loyal to their leader wouldn't stand to have his integrity maligned when faced with having their group disbanded, given that they could simply step forward and identify themselves.

Yeah... Aichon 22:50, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Minor point

I didn't want to add to this while the arbitration was underway, but it seems to me (as an English undergrad) that an English teacher should know that the use of an ellipses like that presented in the evidence, with a space either side of it, in between clauses, is solely for marking that words or sentences have been omitted - for example, when quoting from a block of text. "Blah blah blah badda bing boom bang" could be presented as "Blah ... bang" if quoted in another work, this being the sole use of an ellipses in the manner in which they're parsed here. Sin é mo dhó phingin. When I fall, I'll weep for happiness 14:06, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
