Some helpful advice

We're getting a lot of reports about you on A/VB over the suggestions page. I'm not going to officially warn you on this occasion but I am going to give you a few pointers. Bear in mind that if you ignore these points then you more than likely will end up with another warning as you'll know about them.

Don't mess about with other people's posts. It's called impersonation and is seen as vandalism. Impersonation is making a statement then signing with another user's name, editing another user's signed post or posting another user's comment elsewhere on the wiki and signing your name on it. I know on the suggestions page you were striking an unsigned comment but it's a talk page and they're usually treated differently.

Also, don't just strike things out willie-nillie. The suggestions on the talk page get cycled after a few days so there's no need to strike it out. Especially if there is discussion on-going. It's seen as poor form as opposed to vandalism, but it's better to avoid doing it.

If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask me. Just follow the ese part of my sig to my talk page and leave a message following my helpful rule box bit at the top. :) -- Cheese 00:52, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Suggestions page

I notice that you replaced the title and name of someone else's suggestion. If you wish to add a new suggestion then please do so by adding to the list rather than replacing the existing one.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 18:08, 31 July 2008 (BST)

You know you can only post 1 suggestion a day, right? Undo what you did and come back tomorrow. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 18:57, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Warning

Please do not create suggestions for the purpose of humour or satire in the main suggestions system. There is a humourous suggestions section where you can make usch suggestions any time you desire. Since policy dictates that such suggestions are vandalism. Please refrain from any further such acts in future or you could serve ban time. --The Grimch U! E! 18:37, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Warning 2

Please don't impersonate other users by signing their posts as you did to Iscariot's post on the suggestion talk page. Be more careful in future as any further vandalism will lead to a ban. -- Cheese 01:18, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Warning overruled and removed. --The Grimch U! E! 13:59, 1 August 2008 (BST)

My Comments

I NEVER do anything on wikipedia. no i did not know I only had one suggestion per day, and I think I deserve another since my first one was removed.Shooty08 19:08, 31 July 2008 (BST)

thanks, I like to go into things without reading the suggested materials, makes me learn faster. Shooty08 19:15, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Please read the suggestion guidelines before making suggestions, both your suggestions have violated either the rules or the Suggest Dos and Do Nots. If you refuse to read the guidelines then do not complain when your suggestions are removed for violating them.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 19:16, 31 July 2008 (BST)
I could have sworn there was a link in that big WN template, down there, General... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:17, 31 July 2008 (BST)
I know, I was merely pointing it out as it is a fair bit to read and he says he does not read guidelines.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 19:18, 31 July 2008 (BST)
Well. He's a newbie (at least to this wiki...Yes, I see that he seems to have some wiki experience...), so cut him some slack. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:20, 31 July 2008 (BST)
I did. You notice I have been leaning on the side of good faith throughout this.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 19:23, 31 July 2008 (BST)
I did read it, I read fast is all.Shooty08 19:21, 31 July 2008 (BST)

And no, I have no wiki experience XD it says in the WN template you can remove it by removing Template:Wikinewbie or some such. Shooty08 19:25, 31 July 2008 (BST) And I thank you all for your patienceShooty08 19:26, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Hm...well, I assumed you had some since you knew how to sign. Guess assumptions really do make an ass of you and me... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:28, 31 July 2008 (BST)
it tells you to sign by adding the four tildes on almost every page is all... Shooty08 19:33, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Your comments

It's all written down on the suggestions page. 8. Each author should not make more than one suggestion per day (i.e. in a 24 hour period beginning at 00:01 BST). This limit does not include suggestions which the author has removed for the purpose of revision. Suggestions may be revised once per day at most. Suggestions must be removed prior to revisions being posted. Frequent removal of suggestions to avoid having them spaminated is considered abuse of the system. Removal of suggestions in order to post non-revision suggestions the same day is also considered abuse of the system. -- Cheese 19:10, 31 July 2008 (BST)
Look Shooty. You're new here. Perhaps this'll help:
--•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:11, 31 July 2008 (BST)
it did help. I still think I derserve another suggestion though. Shooty08 19:18, 31 July 2008 (BST)
For not reading the rules? Like hell you do. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 19:20, 31 July 2008 (BST)
I agree that perhaps you do, as it is a newbie mistake, but I must follow the rules.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 19:21, 31 July 2008 (BST)
no, since the first one was removed, its like it never existed, therefore, I deserve my suggestion for the day. but rules are rules, I'll bring it back tomorrow.Shooty08 19:22, 31 July 2008 (BST)
OK, perhaps you could post it on the talk page first for discussion and feedback (It's not compulsory but it might be helpful)?--The General T Sys U! P! F! 19:25, 31 July 2008 (BST)
Just don't get upset with the comments you might get on that page. Most of the people there are pretty rude. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:27, 31 July 2008 (BST)
thanks, its up, feel free to tear it down.Shooty08 19:33, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Hey, Shooty, how do you want feedback on your suggestions below? Can I respond to them directly? --Galaxy125 09:05, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Sure, just like any comment, or if you want to make a feedback section, whatever works. Shooty08 12:12, 1 August 2008 (BST)
I made a feedback section. just put Re:(insert name of idea here) at the top so I know which one you're talking about. Shooty08 19:50, 2 August 2008 (BST)

my ideas/works in progress

Make factories useful

Timestamp: Shooty08 19:30, 31 July 2008 (BST) Type: Skill, weapons mod Scope: humans over lv 5, weapons, factories Description: this would add a new skill, factory worker. It would allow a character to modify a weapon for extra accuracy or damage, if they have this skill and are working in a factory powered by a generator. This would cost some AP, and exclude weapons that could be made broken(e.g. the newspaper with its 100% accuracy can't be made to have 2 points of damage every hit). You cannot stack upgrades, either its more accurate or more damaging, not both. each weapon can be upgraded only once, and would be signified with a (a) for accuracy modified and (d) for damage modified after the name in the inventory or weapon list in the attack command. if damage is increased, accuracy is decreased and vice-versa.

New Zombie skills

Timestamp: Shooty08 21:24, 31 July 2008 (BST) Type: Skill Scope: zombies Description: Zombies gain a new skill, desprate hunger. This skill adds two points of damage to the next 10 attacks that land after a zombie has recovered 10 or more AP in a wasteland. The theory behind this is there is no prey in a wasteland, while a zombie can at least find rats to feed on in most buildings, even ruined ones. However, since the zombie is very hungry, he also loses a few points of accuracy. Does not stack on itself. (if more than 30 AP are gained in wasteland w/o using up most of previous AP lose +2 to attack?)too complicated XD

Retrovirus

Human skill, Necrotech finally got enough data for beta-testing a retrovirus to counteract the zombie plague. zombies that bite and infect could become counter-infected at a 50% chance, when HP hits 0, zombie stands up as a human, unless bitten and infected by another zombie first (different mutations of the zombie virus). maybe requires Necrotech employment or more? maybe a new type of syringe that can be manufactured in necrotech buildings (retrovirus syringe)

Cannibalism

crossover skill, once a target is killed, regain 5hp, only up to 35hp. humans eating zombies and vice-versa have a low chance of becoming infected(assuming retrovirus is in play XD, humans only infected if zombie knows infectious bite).

More memories of life

zombie skill, user can listen to radio broadcasts or some such. goes in skill tree where expected.

improv explosives?

skill for humans, allows user to create an improv explosive using a gas can, bottle of beer/wine, etc. new weapons aren't exactly friendly suggestions so this'll stay just an idea.

tagger/gps locator

new item, allows you to tag a player and see where they are. player can remove tag if they want to, is considered part of their inventory and can be dropped for 0 AP. requires 1 AP to tag and 1 AP to use locator for each character tagged. if tag is removed, still broadcasts location, but will be stationary. maybe a character is limited to 16 tags, but can recover dropped ones as a search item in area they were dropped in. (100% sucess?)

beta testing

suggesters who have/do get a suggestion passed are allowed to use a mini-map with fewer users (sysop and above, other passing suggesters) to test suggestions to see if they will imbalance the game in unforeseen ways. Map would have more AP per day to speed up testing.

Camouflage

Human skill, pay 2 (or more) AP, you appear to be a zombie to all characters until you use something in your inventory or enter a VSB building.(or anything that shows you aren't restricted to zombie-type actions)

Smoke grenades

act similar to a building without power in relation to accuracy loss, except the cloud of smoke can be seen like a flare and disappears after, say, 24 hours. Perhaps different colors of smoke so systems of 'secret' in-plain-sight communication can be set up.

Gore-covered body

Zombie skill, in tree beside brain rot, standard XP. Necrotech employees cannot Extract DNA from you because you're just too damn scary. May cause them to waste revivification syringe because they can't tell if you have brain rot. Gives DNA-extracting character message like, "you are too cowardly to approach this fearsome specimen."

Helicopter strafing runs

Yes this is supposed to be a joke. The idea is that the military outside the quarantine area should be trying to 'kill' as many zombies as they can. double cost of standing up to any who are killed, a straight(or diagonal) line across the map is affected, anyone outside of buildings are hit for 50 hp of damage.

Bombardment

see above. hits random areas in a single suburb (different((also random?)) suburb each week?) mayhaps suburbs closer to borders are more often hit than those further in.

The Game

you just lost. or you need to go to losethegame.com.

Shooty08's Template

Techercizer has made Shooty08 a Template for the outstanding achievement of having 4 A/VB cases in 2 Hours! That's got to be some kind of record.

This user was subject to 4 A/VB cases in 2 hours!

aww thanks. They say if you don't get complaints you aren't doing your job right, right?Shooty08 01:46, 1 August 2008 (BST) of course, I was just noting there was no sig on one, not sure about the others XD

Nope. Sorry. The person who holds the record would be 3pagewikivandal. He gets permabanned, and in a few seconds, he lets loose another 3pagewikivandal alt. That was a nearly 2 years ago. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:26, 2 August 2008 (BST)
Impresssive. Shooty08 19:42, 2 August 2008 (BST)
So yes. 3pwv gets the "most reports on A/VB in a few minutes" as well as the "most permaban" award. Runner up for the permaban award would be Amazing. Good times, those days. Good times. Where the drama was hot and where one of the old sysops proclaimed himself ruler of the wiki. Good times. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:15, 2 August 2008 (BST)

lol. poor guys just can't catch a break, can they? Shooty08 10:39, 3 August 2008 (BST)
I hold the record for most pages wiped in a period of four hours. It's about 600 I believe. Ioncannon11 03:44, 7 August 2008 (BST)
That's crazy. 150 pages an hour. Shooty08 21:47, 7 August 2008 (BST)
