- It was a broken switch template. I've fixed it now. To see what I've done, see the dif for the page. The Kevanists believe the universe was created when Kevan created Urband Dead in 2005. The switch template is used so that the number of years will automatically update according to the {{CURRENTYEAR}}. ~

- Lucky for you, I actually know this.
- Template:Switch is used for turning a preset phrase into another preset phrase. For example, I could set it up so that it would turn the word 'cake' into the word 'lie', like so:

- Used alone, it's completely pointless, since you could just write what you want to say. But it can be used with other templates for some unique stuff. A common example, and the one use here, is a time template. When you use one of them, it displays as the variable in it's name. For example, {{CURRENTDAYNAME}} would tell you that it was Thursday when the reader loaded the page. This is when switch becomes useful:

|case: Monday=I'm sad.
|case: Saturday=I'm happy.
|default: I'm indifferent.
}}
- With that code, you could show an estimate of your mood based on the day of the week. There are many other uses that draw from templates other than just the current time, such as danger reports.
- But more to the point, they were trying to make a sort of stopwatch-style counter; they wanted the text to say how many years since, not when it was formed, but never have to be updated. Hey, it's funny you mentioned that Name with the ud added to it, that was created completely accidently while attempting to access my older page without that after the end, and now I have no idea how to get rid of it. --

Character BioAlastair is a Survivor of Malton's Police force and can generally be found in Mornington. He has seen many crazy things throughout his life, especially in his service with Malton police Department's Special Weapons And Tactics squad, but nothing quite like waking up one day to find his residence city in ruins with the dead walking the streets and screams of terror flooding the now chaos gripped city. After surviving the terror of the outbreak and watching the city barricades and roadblocks fall to the ruthless onslaught of the undead horde, and witnessing dissension in the ranks of the force as well as the deaths of several fellow squad members in Malton's SWAT Squad, He took some of the skills he learned in training and took to the streets as his prior job was now deemed useless with the current system of order broken. He now strives to survive and help other survivors maintain their sanity in the ravaged suburbs of Malton. Alastair has attempted to maintain his own sanity in the city and has done his best to adapt and keep his edge. His skills have been honed to a decent level and he has acquired a few new ones while in the new ruined city he accepts as his current home. He is a Proud Member of the Order of the Black Rose.
