Yea, I'm leaving minor flavor changes for Kevan to decide. Things are rarely implemented as they are written as suggestions anyhow(just look at my necronet idea in the peer reviewed page and in the game). --Zaruthustra-Mod 20:40, 10 April 2006 (BST)

Lexicon

I understand you just joined up, but since you have three rounds to catch up on it's probably good to start pretty quick--we need one each from you in JKL, MNO and PQRS, and PQRS ends today.--'STER-Talk-Mod 00:48, 27 May 2006 (BST)

One each. So you need to write one JKL article (there are no phantoms, so you'll have to write one new), one MNO in one of the phantoms already there, and one PQRS, for a total of three articles. And on Monday, TUV will start, and you'll need to write one in that too. We don't really have any rules about how fast you have to catch up, but preferably you'll finish by this coming Friday or thereabouts.--'STER-Talk-Mod 02:55, 28 May 2006 (BST)

Families of Malton

As a member of the Outbreak Lexicon team I thought you might be interested in looking at and/or helping with the Families of Malton project. Conndrakamod T W! 01:51, 30 May 2006 (BST)

Finishing it?

We've had about a month of inactivity with the lexicon, and we're only missing 7 articles. You think you can handle writing one or two more then help with final cleanup? We really can do it! (Please RE on my talk page. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 00:40, 27 July 2006 (BST)

My ideas for UD, comments welcome

  • Church bells. Their original function was to call people in the village/town for mass, so why not implent them? Bit like feeding groan/flare/Bullhorn (suggestion,in peer review). Just "You hear tolling of bells X to <direction> and Y to <direction>. Adds flavor.
  • Controlled fire. There's a strong suggestion on wild fire that can rage through buildings. Well, here's my idea. Building a nice bonfire to warm yourself, notify of human precense, give a little boost in searching (like generator, but bit less, as it will give little light). For firewood? Books (oh, so nazi-esgue...), newspapers, poetry books, baseball bats, fuel cans (ouch), crusifix's (if you're feeling sarclisous) and off course money (another suggestion, being ale to find wads of cash on banks, now having lost its worth, what more nice than a good ole tener fire?)
  • Barricade improvement/counter measure. I suggested "Engineering Skill" which got some bad looks on me. I admit, I was bit ignorant about the thing. But see, if the barricade boost was implented, also implent a new skill for zombies, that would allow them to use a crowbar. For all I know, using a crowbar requires way lesser motorical skills than operating a doorknob. Also would give zombies something to do during the period of time between some inconsiderate scientist revives them (I've lost count how many times someone has done that to my Zed character) and between returning to the horde. They could jump in an auto repair shop or something and grab a crowbar for future use.
Also, I originally posted the barricade improvement under Engineering, but come to think of it. If I had to choose between a Engineer or a experiensed Squatter (person who alone or with friends break into abandoned houses and lives there untill cops come knocking) to barricade my house against Zombies, I'd choose a squatter, they have first hand knowledge on what's hard to break though, that household items create headache to people with powertools etc.
  • Manifacturing items. A longshot. Most people won't like the idea, as it would be seen as a too big a tweak for harmanz. Don't get me wrong, I do play as a human, but I also sympathise the zombie side, that's why operating the machines wouldn't be easy. It would require a skill, a generator, 5 or more AP per manifacture, and with every factory producing only one specific item (be it guns, FAKs, Bullets, Books, Cell-phones, Pipes, Crusifixs or whatever), all the effort of getting the needed elements would be pretty much ruined by finding out the factory only produces Poetry Books. This would force people to fortufy inside few specific factories (namely ammo factories), which would be easy targets. Also, operating machinery would be heard outside the factory (in the same block), alongide the lights being on, so it's easy to spot where someone is making themselves a years supply of crowbars.
  • Hivemind. Zombie elite skill (like Zombiehunter's Headshot, available to level 10+ zombies). Hivemind would allow you to sense the amount of zombies (not a exact numerical value, but bit vague terms such as "Horde" "Pack" "Few" and "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" per suburb) in a page (bit like a GPS, for zombies), costs AP to check, gives a general idea on what's the level of activity around.
  • Zombie mutation, simple. I read all these aspiring zombie horrorist masterpieces about the nature of "Horrors" and whatnot. Yawn. Tentacle mutation, stronger grip, ie. better hit chance after grabbing harman hambarghar, claws, better hit damage, fangs, better bite damage, fleshblob, more HP, nimbleness, can enter buldings with QS- barricades. Not exactly rocket science, just evolution caused from numerous NT shots given by Scientist noobs.
  • Area specific buffs. Just an idea; Police Officers knowtheir way around PD's so they can access them easier, find stuff better (á la Bargain Hunting), maybe fight better. Firefighters in FD's, etc.
  • Radios. There's talk about TV's and TV studios where you can broadcast tape (on loop) to contact people with TV's. I personally think a radio would be more fitted, as many emergancy survival kits in areas with constant earthquakes etc.(zombie invasion are currently at sparce, but they fit the profile) contain small portable radios, and goverments usually broadcast messages to the disasterstruck areas on eg. where to find shelter, where the choppers come to pick people up, where food will be dropped etc. Just my 2 Euro Cents.
Sex, it has been implented. Rejoice.--William Raker 17:49, 1 June 2006 (BST)
  • Generi-Cola (spelling intended).Just for us Straight-Edge people who want to heal minor wounds but don't drink alcohol :). Can be found in malls and schools (I take back every bad thing I said about schools sporting soda-automats and it's effect on kids health), a good whack to the side of an automat, and time for a refressing Generi-Cola.
  • Colored spraycans. Graffiti would be displayed in a different colour, just a minor flavor-update.
  • Teddy Bear. Can be found in malls, schools, hospitals and manifactuured in factories. asicly generic junk, but also an option for crusifix for us non-believers.

All the above:--William Raker 20:04, 14 May 2006 (BST)

  • Socialist sharing. One of the bodies in the water of the suggestion page is trade or private chests to give people the ability to exchange items. Well, the problem is the zerking, as well as the unfairness to newbies. Well, my idea would be a table, or something, where people could trow their usefull extra stuff (such as pistols and poetry books) for anyone to take. And yes, it opens the window for zerging, as well as griefing (nabbing dearly needed X's and Y's before peoplewho want them get them, and throwing them away, as well as cluttering the table with Crusifixes or other rubbish), but hey, makes it harder to zerg.

Basicly, it gives a way to help new people by leaving them back some weapons, FAK's etc, whie making it hard to zerg (say, search-odds are nerfed if multiple same-ip chars are in the same suburb), as people might get there first. As for zombies, well, they can just smash the table and trow the stuff around, like Ransacking. I thnk it's worth trying and improving.--William Raker 18:39, 27 May 2006 (BST)

  • Airstrikes. I was reading the rejected suggestion, and found the idea of calling airstrikes from forts. Now, the idea was seriously overpowered (kills all in block, and destroys all possible barricades). Now, the idea of a tactical airstrike isn't THAT bad, but rather, it should be tweaked a bit. Deals set amount of damage, with certain persentages, and damages barricades, but not necesseraly destroys them. Worth working on, really.--William Raker 13:18, 30 May 2006 (BST)
