Weakley Square got its name from a diary entry by well known dyslexic Doctor, Howard. O. Oakley during the [[wikipedia:1918 flu pandemic|1918 Flu Pandemic]]. One of his diary entries during the periodwas entitled ' ''And the sickely and weakley shall cometh here for warmth and healings, for no value is greateth then life and no reward is greateth and satisfaction...''
