Description

Maltonfdsymbol2.jpg

Weston Crescent Fire Station is a fire station located in the Cental North of the suburb of Dulston. Fires in east-side Malton have always proved devastating and especially during the last century where the number of fires skyrocketed and became a common occurrence in Pescodside. These fires would often spread from Pescodside into its neighboring suburbs which would place buildings in southern Dulston at risk. In 1938 the first major fire swept from Bellot Street to Hamerton Road, burning down all the textile factories that had been constructed along there since 1903. Thankfully the fire took place at night and no lives were lost during the ensuing fire storm. The loss to Malton's textile industry was severe and many factory workers found themselves unemployed in the days following the fire.

Public outcry over the fact that fire crews had to travel all the way from Stembridge Crescent Fire Station, as Dulston's only fire station at the time, was so great that the city council quickly passed a motion to begin construction of Weston Crescent Fire Station. Built in 1940, the new fire station was hardly the best in Malton as while the city council was willing to build the station they were reluctant to provide funding above what was required to keep it open. Even so, Weston Crescent Fire Station did help reduce the threat of fires within Dulston.

During the "Malton Incident" the fire station was abandoned and its doors sealed as part of the evacuation plan, but since that day there have been signs that perhaps members of the illustrious Malton Fire Department have returned to the station in hopes of managing more than just fires within the suburb. Formerly Archangel Michael, a Fire Marshall with the MFD, was charged with the task of organizing firefighter resistance within Dulston. He took over the area from previous Captains, Grifflik & Agent Heroic. The most recent person in charge of maintaining the station was Jerran, a MFD Lieutenant, but he is currently off-duty and working independently in other parts of Malton.

Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, when asked about his impressions of Weston Crescent Fire Station replied, "Weston Crescent? I've never been there. What are you talking about?". What indeed Caleb... what indeed.

Barricade Policy

This building must never be more than Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded. This barricade level has been set forth in the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram, a strategic barricade policy that is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance. This building's purpose is to serve as an access point for all survivors and a safehouse for inexperienced survivors who do not possess the Free Running skill. Visitors are requested to never barricade beyond Very Strongly unless the building is currently under siege from 5 or more zombies. Note that any survivors associated with the Dulston Alliance have the right to lower the barricades back to Very Strongly if they discover them raised higher without just cause.

December 13th, 2008 - Healer computer2slow, of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the fire station was in bad shape. After over a month lying in ruins it would take considerable effort to repair the building (29 AP). Evem so Healer computer2slow started the process in hopes of bringing the station back into working order.

Update: Healer computer2slow reported that his repairs were complete, and while very tired, he had managed to raise the building's barricades to Loosely. Not exactly all that safe, but better than nothing. In other news, Lothar von Rheinfels, a self-proclaimed "Freelance Death Cultist" was spotted in the building by D.I.T.P.S and survivors are advised to keep an eye out for this troublemaker and execute him on sight.

November 10th, 2008 - Very strongly barricaded, but no power or radio.-- Chase gilligan

Update: Dead vs Blue recon reported that the fire station was not secured in time and that it has fallen into ruins yet again.

Come on down and help protect this place we can win. --Firefighter00789 06:40, 7 June 2008 (BST)

October 20th, 2007 - In a possible preliminary strike from incoming zombie hordes, the fire station's barricades and generator have been torn down.

October 3rd, 2007 - Under the watchful eye of the Flustered Brethren, the fire station has been confirmed as safely in survivor hands.

August 6th, 2007 - Reports are coming in that the Infected Swarm, Cybele's Shamblers and the Dulston Destruction Tour pulled off another raid tonight which brought the Weston Crescent Fire Station into zed control. All inside were said to have died very quickly, the building was taken in a matter of minutes. The lone person who got out, wishes to remain unknown for fear of being hunted down said "It was so fast we never stood a chance, it's like they are learning or are being controlled by one mind I have never seen zeds act this way." Need proof?

July 3rd, 2007 - A NecroNet scan from the Whitlock Building showed that there were 11 zombies standing at Weston Crescent Fire Station! No doubt this is a zombie plot to try and steal Dulston's fire engines! How nefarious... but they will not get far as every spark plug in the city was destroyed as a precaution. One many regret since it led to no vehicular transportation for survivors. Well you know what they say about hindsight being 20/20... (*cough*).

June 5th, 2007 - Ack! Zombies! A small mob of 6 zombies are sieging the building and it's hard to tell how long survivors will hold out against them! Actually there are several zombies in and around the fire station, so even more might join in the attack.

November 15th, 2006 - Members of DORIS persist in their claims of controlling all Dulston. Taking a page straight from Conquerors 101 DORIS has instigated a policy whereby local buildings and streets throughout the suburb have been renamed by their group, in this case, the fire station is now known as the Neal Stonebrook Fire Station as far as DORIS is concerned.

March 28th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...
