Description
Crooketon's main high school, Willshere Row School is a late Victorian edifice.
History
The result of a public scare about the quality of education in Crooketon, part of Samwell Squibbs' campaign, Willshere Row School was built right next to the existing Barker Boulevard School. It was expected to be maintained through a combination of charitable donations and scholars' fees, but its redundancy and unfortunate proximity to a neighbouring junkyard ensured that it would be chronically underfunded and it suffered low attendance rolls throughout its history.
It is generally regarded today as an example of government excess despite significantly increasing the quality of public education in Crooketon. A bomb threat was thwarted there in 1989.
