Description

An average red-brick fire station, with a strangely well-preserved WWII era Sherman tank outside. The American flag outside has grown worn, dirty and threadbare from its constant exposure to the elements of nature with nobody to tend to it.

History

Sherman Alley FD was commisioned in 1950. It took it's name from the Sherman tank parked outside, a monument to the then-recent Allied victory in WWII. The tank drew large crowds of sightseers; this congestion led to multiple incidents of firetrucks being unable to pull out in the case of emergency. While one would think such mishaps would lead to the city moving the tank, they didn't. It brought in too much tourism to simply replace. At the time of the outbreak, the tank still remained well-preserved; nowadays it isn't that uncommon to find a survivor using it as shelter.

Barricade Policy

Please do not over barricade this building! It should be maintained as an accessible safe house and free running entryway, and as such the barricades should be maintained at Very Strongly (VS+2). See the Uniform Barricading Policy for more details.
