I'm trying to experience all aspects of the game, so I've made characters for each of the, what I perceive to be, three distinct approaches to traditionally playing the game. Orison is a career survivor character who has joined up with a group and will do everything he can to restore the suburbs and keep them safe. Jamie is a career zombie character who will likely join a group on the opposite side, even going so far as to grab Brain Rot and all. Emma is being played as an opportunist type of character character; when she's alive, she supports the survivors, when she's dead, she supports the zombies. Kinda like Dual Nature, but not as RPish. I'm considering the addition of a fourth player to act as a PKer once I become more adept at understanding how the game plays in regular practice.
In-game, my characters really have no relation to each other, aside from RP back stories that are tied together. I try to keep them all spread out and make an effort not to favor any one character or play style more than any other. Right now, I've made an effort to compartmentale each character so that they act independently of the others and operate in regions that are far enough apart such that any information they gather is of no use to the others. Also, as I said, each of my characters is being played in a different style, so, if I munch on your brains with my zombie character, and then you later see my survivor, don't kill him on the assumption that he's a zombie spy, because he's not. The same goes for the other characters. I play each of them to their fullest, within their specific style of play.

Despite the fact that I did establish RP back stories for my characters, I do not, in fact, RP much at all. On very rare occasion, I'll go in-character and waste a few AP speaking as they would, but, in general, if you see my characters speaking in the game, it can probably be considered out of character. I'm just too practical and AP is just too precious for me to spend it willy-nilly talking in-character all the time.

Currently, Orison is up in the northwest districts, Jamie is running around on the eastern half of the city, and Emma is slowly migrating towards the southwest districts since she started off close to Jamie (she got delayed helping to ransack and ruin Fort Perryn during an event that was apparently named Naked Twister Party '09). I intend to have the three of them lead entirely separate lives within the city, though the three of them do share a common back story. Even so, I have little intention of RPing at this time, so while I do have a story for these characters, it generally won't impact the way that they are played in game, aside from what has already been mentioned.

While Orison and Emma are both already grouped up, if there are any pro-zombie groups in the southeast or east that could use a newbie zombie, feel free to contact me regarding Jamie. I might also be willing to consider organized dual nature style groups for Emma, but I'm content with playing that character as it's currently being played.

Current Goals
All three of them are actively working on leveling up, though each has its own distractions. Orison is acting as a medic/scout in and around Darvall Heights. He started off doing recon and medic duty around Caiger with his then-new group, moved up to Gatcombeton to retake the suburb, and is now back down around Caiger, helping defend against a siege. He's still wandering a bit though, trying to pick up a few extra XP here and there, as well as a few key items he has yet to procure.

Emma started off for the first few levels zombified, but at some point she got revived and has managed to stay alive for the last few levels. At first, it was slow going, but once she picked up the ability to do DNA extraction, she had a sustainable source of XP (sure beat whacking people with a Fire Axe at 10% chance to hit), making it all the easier to grab Free Running and other skills.

Jamie, meanwhile, is following a few Feral Undead members around and is picking up scraps from their break-ins. Given that, she's leveling very rapidly at the moment, which is ironic, since she started off far behind the other two characters (18 deaths pre-Lvl3, compared to Emma's 7 pre-Lvl5 deaths, might've been a contributing factor).

About the way I play

I'm trying to experience all aspects of the game, so I've made characters for most of the, what I perceive to be, distinct approaches to playing the game. Orison is a career survivor character who has joined up with a group and will do everything he can to restore the suburbs and keep them safe. Jamie is a career zombie character who will likely join a group on the opposite side. Emma is being an opportunist character; when she's alive, she supports the survivors, when she's dead, she supports the zombies. I'm considering the addition of a fourth player to act as a PKer at some point in the indeterminate future.
