Gulsonside is a suburb of Malton, located in the southeast of the city.

Gulsonside is the birthplace of the Minions of the Apocalypse. It was in this suburb that the Minions started their rampage across Malton. St. Lazarus's Church was the first building they cleaned out. After attacking several other larger buildings, such as Blesley Mall, they moved out of the suburb. To this day the Minions still consider Gulsonside as their home.

Battalion Chief KristiOTD activated the Billings Row Fire Station and claimed the Northcote Avenue Fire Station as the HQ for MFD SE Division. To combat the suburb's problem of overbarricading, the MFD and MPD created the Gulsonside Barricade Plan, in accordance with the Uniform Barricading Policy, in order to create more VS entry points.

'Ghoulsonside' gained notoriety when Mall Tour '09 decided to skip the suburb's Blesley Mall, as the mall had fallen to a persistent guerilla campaign by a small group of zombie nightclubbers, Clubbed to Death. Blesley is therefore a notable omission from the Tour's record of annihilated targets. The undead clubbers used darkened neighboring clubs Wadman and Simpson (Zedman and Zedson) as secure bases for their attacks. By August 09, the mall had been in rotten zombie hands for over four months, and much of the suburb and western Osmondville remained ruined and dangerous for those of the breathing persuasion.

Gulsonside is also the suburb where the prophet Saul D'Alessio founded the Cult of the Unseen Ones. It is therefore sacred to the cultists. Residing within the suburb are two of their most sacred sites: St. Lazarus Church was dedicated to the Unseen Ones by Saul himself and the first church to be dedicated to the Unseen. The second sacred site is Gurney Park which was also dedicated to the Unseen and reminds the cultists of the forest where Saul found the Unseen.

Things to do in Gulsonside

  • Shop 'till you drop, eat and be eaten, at Blesley Mall. Sip a mrh-cachino at Zedbuck's or just enjoy watching the hordes shamble past in the latest Gulsonside fashions. Bloodstains and tattered clothing are definitely in again this season!
  • Dance your life away at the (in)famous Club Wadman with its eclectic music and colourful crowd (colourful as in greenish-grey, most nights). From head-banging rock to trance, you can get off your head and then spill your guts in the street outside!
  • Be a culture vulture in Gulsonside's Cultural Heartland. The Museum Triangle of the Bane Museum, the Crump Museum and the Wybrants Museum house collections of abstract art, tapestries and contemporary art of a kind matched only by every other museum in Malton. At the gift shops you can help yourself to some of these precious artworks to add that touch of elegance to the safehouse of your choice. The Menhennet Museum, situated conveniently just one block north of the mall, offers an unusual insight into African glassware, almost all of it now pre-smashed for your convenience.
  • Be a health tourist for the day! St Polycarp's Hospital and Zacharias General Hospital offer reasonable rates for injured parties seeking anything from basic first-aid to major surgery. Be sure to call in advance to schedule an appointment between zombie drop-in sessions, as the hospitals can be rather busy (and chaotic) at those times.
  • Atone for your sins at one of Gulsonside's four beautiful churches. The 'twin spires' of St Holy's Church and St Patrick's Church invite all pilgrims (alive and dead) to step inside, fall to their knees and pray for forgiveness for that thing you do with your hands.
  • Choose life! at our first-class NecroTech facilities, the Perryn Building, site of the Gulsonside Massacre, the Wetherall Building and the Creek Building. Courteous staff or bloodthirsty zombies are always on hand to offer you the gift of life or to remove your cerebral cortex - all in a matter of pain-free or agonising minutes!
  • Chuckle mildly at Butt Boulevard and the Podger Building's amusing names, and ponder the meaning of life (or simply take a dump) next to Ponder Grove's iconic statue.
  • Stay the night at one of our luxury hotels - the Pledger, Hemphill, and Mapledoram. Don't let the 0-star ratings deter you!
  • Get the hell out! using one of the excellent railway stations that form part of the suburb's infrastructure.
  • Let's toast in The Brien Arms! Come and give your hands a toast with a warm pint of beer.
  • Follow in the footsteps of the great prophet Saul D'Alessio and visit Church of the Unseen, the first church in Malton to be dedicated to the worship of the Unseen. Also drop by Gurney Park and celebrate the holy moment when Saul found the almighty Unseen Ones. We invite all survivors to these sacred sites to pay homage to Saul and the Unseen. Feel free to destroy a few Chosen while you stay as a sacrifice to the Silent Saviors.

September

September 2nd

As we enter September, Gulsonside remains moderately dangerous with approximately 40 zeds in the area. Survivor presence continues to increase as word spreads of Gulsonside's turn around over the last 5 weeks. Blesley Mall is lit and secure with over 60 survivors inside and many more scattered throughout the 'burb and along the western border of Osmondville. RP's are clear and all major resource buildings are up and in survivor hands. The lion's share of zed forces (27) are stationed outside the Mall and they periodically break in for a light snack before being evicted. --Bad Attitude BarbieSDN 18:05, 2 September 2011 (BST)

August

August 29rd

Blesley Mall and all major TRBs in Gulsonside are in survivor hands. Local newspaper headlines read: Blesley Mall Zombie Massacre leaves 14 Undead Dead. Forecasts call for powerful zombie reprisals and Cheeto showers.--Bad Attitude BarbieSDN 03:58, 30 August 2011 (BST)

August 23rd

Perryn NT is caded and lit, but Blesley Mall has returned to zombie control after a break-in by over 20 Clubbers. Casual visitors are asked to tread carefully as the floors are slick with blood, mixed with what appears to be Cheeto dust.--Mallrat The Spanish Inquisition TSI The Kilt Store TKS Clubbed to Death CTD 11:37, 23 August 2011 (BST)

August 22nd

Majority of Gulsonside's buildings and TRB's remain repaired as the bulk of the 30+ Zombies gather outside the repaired Blesly Mall. --Josh Clark 17:25, 22 August 2011 (BST)

August 15th

Zombie numbers appear to have decreased slightly, casualties are low and resources are holding more easily. TRB's remain consistently available but Blesley Mall remains moderately occupied by 5-10 Cheeto withholding zeds. --Bad Attitude BarbieSDN 04:20, 16 August 2011 (BST)

August 10th

Zombie numbers have grown in the last 4 days (I estimate to between 50 and 60) and resources are falling more quickly following repairs. Casualties have increased, though revive points are actively maintained. Weatherall and Perryn NTs are lit and various other resources remain consistently available. The mall is occupied by a moderate number of rotters (10-15) and despite reports to the contrary, we suspect Cheetos are within. --Bad Attitude BarbieSDN 16:42, 10 August 2011 (BST)

Reports of Cheeto presence in Blesley Mall are grossly exaggerated. Also, they're not NPOV.--Mallrat The Spanish Inquisition TSI The Kilt Store TKS Clubbed to Death CTD 17:46, 10 August 2011 (BST)

August 5th

Blesley back in zombie hands.--Mallrat The Spanish Inquisition TSI The Kilt Store TKS Clubbed to Death CTD 13:18, 6 August 2011 (BST)

August 4th

The suburb is largely safe with most TRB's secure and many lit. Survivor casualties are low and RP's are mostly empty. There are approximately 30 zeds in this suburb, with @ 20 split between Blesley Mall and Perryn NT. Survivors are struggling to maintain possession of the mall while zombies are finding it difficult to reclaim Perryn NT.--Bad Attitude BarbieSDN 18:57, 4 August 2011 (BST)
