Existing rules on Kevan's talk page

If you want to report a bug, put it up on the Bug Reports page for review. If you've got a question about the Wiki, use the Wiki Questions and another user will see it and answer it. If you want to discuss game balance or the future of the game, try a discussion forum. If you'd like to respond to someone who's posted here, you should do so on their talk page. If you're from the future, there are a couple of archives. If you'd like to speak to an operator, please hold.

• Standard for user talk rules is that A/A has to be used to enforce them as A/VB material
  1. Kevan's talk page is about the only way to contact Kevan and thus deserves special attention
  2. Kevan can't be expected to put up with A/A whenever some annoying twat loke Doodles spams his page

   • Hardcode them into the policy? Or just reference them in case that Kevan changes them?
2. Spam/Harassment should be generally forbidden on Kevan's talk page (see current doodles case)

This is a policy to provide better defense for User talk:Kevan.

Reasoning

While Kevan is technically a normal user (apart from being the root admin), he can't be reasonably expected to put that much time into the wiki to enforce his interests on the usual channels, such as by using A/A to enforce his talk page rules.

Furthermore, Kevan's talk page isn't just widely watch-listed, but is also virtually the only channel to contact the game's creator. To keep it effective, it's important to keep it clean from spam, harassment and off-topic comments, and to discourage posting either of that on it.

Implementation

UDWiki:Specific Case Editing Guidelines should be expanded to contain the following under the User: and User talk: pages header:

User talk: Kevan is a special case, as it is virtually the only effective channel to contact the game's creator.

In addition to the normal User talk:-rules above, performing the following actions on User talk: Kevan is treated as vandalism:

• Reporting bugs. (Go to Bug Reports instead.)
• Asking questions about the wiki itself. (Go to Wiki Questions instead.)
• Discussing game balance or the future of the game. (Go to one of the discussion forums instead.)
• Making extended responses to someone else's posts. (Do so on the talk page of the respective user instead.)
• Putting spam and harassment on it, such as by repeatedly asking for the same thing or making off-topic comments. (Simply don't.)
