I've been living in this ruined city for about a year now before I found this book that was amazing left intact. I was a doctor in Malton until the outbreak. The hospital I worked at had fallen to the zombies. With no reason to stay, I headed north to the supposed safe haven of Havorcroft.

I have finally arrived at the suburb overwise known as Havorcroft. Walking around the suburb, a huge white building caught my eye. I ran toward it, careful to avoid contact with the rotting bodies of the zombies. As I reached the building, I found all doors were barred shut and windows on the ground foor were covered with tough baricades. Looking around, I found a window on the second floor open. Jumping through the window of a nearby hotel, I stumbled into the huge building. Here, many survivors such as myself have taken refuge here. I looked down to the first floor and seeing shops and stores, I realised that this large building I'm in must be a mall. I hurried down a broken escalator, turned around and scanned my eyes for a drug store. If I wanted to survive, I would need medications that would heal wounds. I quickly found one on my left. I walked in and almost slipped on something laying on the floor. It was an empty perscription bottle, no doubt robbed of its contents by other survivors. I looked around the store and saw that almost the entire floor was covered in the same bottles. Careful not to slip on any of the bottles, I reached toward the shelves and grabbed the nearest bottles. Most of them were empty. At least some people had the courtesy of putting the bottles back. One, however, still contained several pills. I put the bottle inside my pocket and continued searching. I entered the backroom and peered inside. One box was left open. It had three wraps of bandages left inside. I grabed them and put them in my pocket. That appeared to be the only box containing anything. Looking around once more I left the store, once again tripping on that bottle left carelessly on the ground. I checked the pistol I had. It was empty of bullets and I had run out of clips. Entering the gun store, I was suprised to find that I could see the floor since it wasn't covered in bottles or bullets. I grabbed the closest box and emptied its contents. Two shotgun shells fell out. I picked both of them up and put them in my pockets. I didn't have a shotgun, but I hoped I'd find one in this store. Walking around the many shelves looking for a pistol clip, I heard a scream somewhere in the store followed by gunshots. I whirled around to see a skinny man running out of the store. I nervously peered around the corner of one of the shelves and saw a dead body being pulled away from several spots of blood on the ground by two survivors and dumped over the barricades. I walked toward where the blood was and spoted a bloody shotgun. It must have belonged to the man who had just died. I took it and loaded the two shells I had on me into it. He probably won't be needing this anymore, now that he's dead. Abandoning my search for pistol ammo, I walked out of the store. But before I exited the murder scene, I saw six pistol clips on the counter. Not believing my luck I grabbed them and ran out. While loading a clip into my pistol, I walked upstairs. Out of a window I saw a cemetary with two zombies standing there. Jumping out and landing safely on a barricade, I walked in the cemetary. Praying that the zombies were asleep, I rummaged inside my pockets and pulled out a DNA Scanner. I put the device near one of the zombie's arm and it jabbed a needle inside the limb and extracted a sample of blood. I stepped back and read the zombie's profile. Ignoring most of the description, I only caught words like: "revive" and "prosurvivor". Seeing the status of the zombie was clearly prosurvivor, I pulled an MK II Necrotech syringe out of my pocket and ,painfully working the stiff controls of the syringe, I squeezed the entire contents of the syringe into the blood stream of the zombie. As the contents of the syringe transformed the cells of the zombie into human cells it's legs gave way, no longer supported by the stiff cells of the zombie virus. The walked away as the zombie transformed into a human again. I began to feel the tiredness of my body from the day's events. I quickly walked outside the church and found that the barricades issued a hole just large enough for a human to crawl through. I crawled into the church and fell asleep almost immediatly on one of the church benches.

Last night, I mysteriously woke up it midnight. Unable to resume sleeping, I traveled back to the mall and managed the fall asleep there. I woke up the next morning, feeling refreshed despite not being in a comfortable place. I walked downstairs and resumed searching in the drug store. I looked in the back of the store this time and found a bottle of antibotics lying on the floor. Satisfied with my findings I left the store. Four people were outside the store, yelling to the Mall about the Malton Globestoppers. As I walked across the mall, planning to go upstairs, one of them shot me. The bullet hit me in the shoulder just as I was climbing the exscalator and I lost my footing and fell down to the first floor. One of them walked to where I lay and aimed a pistol at my head and fired. I woke up again outside the mall. Recalling what happened, I remember I was shot by one of the Malton Globestoppers. Anger surged through me as I stood up. I had become a zombie. I virus must have infected me while I was outside. Pissed off that survivors are killling other survivors rather than zombies, I headed toward the cemetary that just yesterday, I had revived a zombie, hoping someone would return the favor. With that in mind, I slept once again standing where I was swaying slightly. I woke up yet again to find myself a human again. I entered the church nearby and jumped from building to building searching for that bastard that killed me, but with no anvil. I headed back to the mall exhausted and fell asleep a soon as I got in.

Today was pretty much uneventfull. I scavanged for medicine again in the drug store and almost broke my neck when I tripped on yet another bottle. I managed to gather about 17 various medical items. As I was earching I felt myself dosing off because of the boredom of this day, but I just swallowed some random pills that somehow kept me awake. I've decided to sleep in the church next to the mall to avoid being murdered by mad people like the Malton Glodestoppers. I DNA scanned a zombie, oh how exciting... Tomorrow, I will be heading out of Havorcroft. I'm going to die of boredom if I stay here any longer. I hope tomorrow will offer some sort of action.

I finally found my journal again. I must have left it here after I left Havorcroft. Nothing happened when I left Havorcroft so I just turned back. I met one of my friends while I was away, but besides that nothing interesting happened. I didn't even see a ruined building or zombie anywhere...

For the past week, I haven't been including much detail about my travels. I must admit that I'm getting lazy. Yesterday I went to the southern NercoTech facility to gather MK II syringes. The labs were a mess. Broken sheets of glass and pieces of discard technology littered the floor. I walked to the back of messy lab, hoping that it would be cleaner back there, but it was also covered with random items. Being very careful not to touch the glass, I sifted through the mess and found three syringes. It took about 5 hours to find them. Not wanting to waste anymore time here, I jumped to the next building and headed baack to the Ackland Mall. I jumped outside, in the graveyard, but there were only bodies there and no zombies. I hoped I could revive someone today, oh well... I crwaled under the barricade and emerged inside the nearby church. I saw Alex, one of my friends, sleeping there. Suprised that he was there, I left him a note and moved on toward the mall. I arrived in the Southwest section of the mall. I saw that the Northeast quadrent was out of power. I headed there to see what happened. Appartently the generator was out of fuel. I refueled the generator and watched as the lights in that section of the mall flickered on. Now I was without a fuel can. I jumped from the mall to the autoshop, which was right next to the mall, and searched for a can of fuel. The autoshop was quite clean so it didn't take too long to find a can. I headed back to the mall and spent 3 more hours searching the drug store until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.

This week was rather eventful. Much more interesting than the previous week anyway. On Tuesday, was one of the rare occasions where a zombie I was shooting acually woke up and started biting me. I emptied a few clips into it, making sure to dodge its bites. One, however made its way to my arm and it hurt like hell. Wincing through the pain, I ran to the church where I always enter the mall from. Before I got there, I tripped and the zombie took yet another chunk out of me. Half-dying, I managed to crawl under the barricades to the church, losing conscious as soon as I got inside. The next day, I found I wasn't dead, not yet. My wounds were mysteriously healed and my arm looked as if it had never seen the teeth of a zombie. To happy to be alive, I jumped to the mall. I landed on the secound floor as usual. I had wasted about three pistol clips on that zombie I met yesterday and I was low on ammo. I proceeded downstairs and continued through the mall. On the right I found a differant gun store from the previous one I looted. Thinking that it would be easier to search this store, I went inside. This store was littered with debris from the wreaked ceiling. A corner of the store was being used for an alternative way to get to the second floor, since it was crammed with so much stuff that it made a pretty good ramp. I searched for an hour before giving up and going to the previous gun store. I didn't find many clips there, but I did find three extra pistols. I kept them, since I wouldn't have to reload if I already had multiple loaded pistols. I sleep in the nearby cinema; the seats there made quite comfy beds. Thursday was just a day of searching for supplies. I headed south to the NercoTech facility to restock on syringes. I stayed inside the whole day on Thursday. Friday was interesting. Turns out that while I was sleeping, some pker broadcast himself killing an inosent bystander. Too bad I was asleep. I could have killed him. I headed back to the cemetary to see if there were an zombies in need of a revival, but the cemetary was empty of zombies. A little disappointed, I headed to the mall and spent the rest of my day searching for ammunition for my guns.
