Welcome to The Crimson Clan wiki pages. This front page is made primarily for giving a brief introduction to us, and for recruitment information. If you're looking for more specific information, please have a look on the above subpages navigator.
Who are we?
The Crimson Clan is a survivor group, based in and around the suburb of Havercroft in central Malton. The Clan has declared the area surrounding Ackland Mall its domain, and intends to make life difficult for the local PKers and ferals. Due to the varying numbers of prey in central Clan domain, some squads are occasionally seen far into hostile territory.
We are divided into three divisions - the Marines, Home Guard, and Militia. The different divisions are organized very differently to work as efficiently as possible. Our doctors and NecroTechies are able to provide revives and heals whenever needed, while our soldiers bring swift death to the infected or corrupted.
The Crimson Clan has an official radio frequency of 27.50 MHz, and a forum for communications. Many Clan members make use of X:00 tactics.
Both veterans and newbies are welcome to join our ranks.
An old photo taken back in the days when the Clan was based in the extreme North Western Malton. A hidden camera immortalizes the IWM leader Duce Nauks outside Gerrard Place PD in Roywood, moments before he triggers a trap developed by NTa Fippe and NTa William of the Clan's now non-existent Pask Team.
Why join us?
- If you're new to the game, we'll help you become a high-level player through our Boot Camp.
- If you're already a veteran, you'll get to play Urban Dead in a new way, in co-operation with many other players.
- Our numbers are constantly rising. Not so very long ago, we were only a small, non-influential group. Now, The Crimson Clan is one of the more powerful groups in Malton.
As a Militia member
- Very little metagaming: If you don't like forums, the Militia is the place for you.
- No officers: Do whatever you want to, as long as it kinda benefits the Clan.
- But still: You are part of a great survivor group, you have the opportunity to participate in competitions and operations, you have a "hometown", you have other players watching your barricades while you sleep, and you'll learn of the zombie hordes approaching before they strike. Also, don't forget to carry a radio tuned to 27.50 MHz!
As a Home Guard
- Sometimes orders, sometimes not: In times of peace, you're free to do whatever you want to.
- Metagaming: You don't need to check the forums more every 2-3 days, although of course, you're free to be more active as you wish.
- Join Clan competitions: Every now and then, competitions are held in the Clan. Last year, we held a Bounty-hunting competition, and ended up with joint winners - Mr Leon & LK Oddjob, who both well earned the titles 'Crimson Assassin'. This is just one of our range of games & competitions, organised by our Entertainments Adviser.
As a Marine
- Take a challenge: We expect you to become one of the finest and most disciplined soldiers in Malton.
- See Malton: The Marines are not only stationed in the Clan domain, but are also sent on missions far into hostile territory.
- Bounty hunting: A major part of the life as a Marine is spent hunting PKers and zed spies.
- X:00 tactics: Several players logging on at the same time means a good opportunity for cooperation, plus a devastating effect in combat.
- Meet new friends: The close cooperation of the Marines gives you the opportunity to make new friends.
NB - If you would like to join us, post a link to your UD profile here, and change your UD profile group tag to The Crimson Clan. New members default to Militia assignment. You may apply for Home Guard / Marine assignment though you will have to be member for a week or more first.
General news
January 5th, '08
- Father_Alexander won the elections, and is now seated comfortably in the throne. His leadership so far has been very satisfactory, and Clan numbers are gone up rather than down, and he has come up with several new, interesting ideas. Ackland Mall is currently ruined, as of yesterday, but we hope to retake it in the near future. --Jsrbrunty 21:56, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

- The voting for the next Commander is underway, with 3 very worthy candidates. Nomination time ended on the 31st of last month and voting started early on the 1st of December. If we feel that most people have voted by the 7th, then the vote will close then. If not, it will continue until the 14th, when Oddjob hands over his power to his successor. So far, Father_Alexander is in the lead, but Jimbo3 is rapidly working to close the gap, while Waak is in a very honourable third place. But it is not over yet. Anything could happen yet. Meanwhile, Ackland Mall has been recovered and is now secure in survivor hands. And a slight change has come about in the Clan: the 2 Deltas (Delta 1 and Delta 2) have been merged into one larger squad, christened very originally as Delta. Jimbo3 is LT of this squad, while Waak has taken the formerly vacant post of Intelligence Advisor. While all this could change yet again after the elections, we wish both Jimbo and Waak well in their new posts. --Jsrbrunty 18:52, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

- The Bounty Hunter competition is now over, with Jimbo3 emerging victorious. He has now well earnt the title of "Crimson Assassin". Having returned to Havercroft, we are in the process of securing Ackland Mall but surprisingly, the zombies are not being very supportive. We hope to be safe and cosy in our HQ within days. On another matter, Oddjob's term in leadership is drawing to a close and nominations are currently being recieved for the next Commander. Just message Father_Alexander with your nomination, but hurry up - only 3 days left! The new leader will be handed the reins on December 14th, after a fortnight's voting. Good luck to all the nominees, and may the best man win! --Jsrbrunty 22:53, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

- The Crimson Clan have moved down to Marven Mall, South Blythville, in order to find some more fertile grounds over which to hold our annual Bounty Hunter competition, as our own Mall is currently in zombie hands. We hope to harass the local PKers over the next few weeks, hopefully having fun in the process. LK Oddjob 20:13, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

- Oddjob has now quite settled in as our Commander and is full of new ideas and suggestions for improving the Clan's future. He values us, as Clan members and also takes everyone's opinions into account, providing a well-balanced, fair UD life. Since the last 'News' article, various changes have taken place regarding the Leadership Team. These include W J Higgins standing down from the position of Alpha (Home Guard) Ltn, being replaced by Loco, a fresh-faced leader, keen to cut his teeth. He has been a total success so far, and we wish him much luck in continuing his good work. Ackland Mall has recently been ruined, having been sieged by Feral Undead for approximately a month, and finished off by the visiting RRF. We hope to retake our HQ in the near future. Current Clan numbers show up on the Stats as about 62, up from last month. --Jsrbrunty 22:28, 17 October 2008 (BST)
News older than a month will be moved to the archives.
