Talk:Spaminated
I created this page to be linked to whenever a spam vote is shot down. Saves us the trouble of explaining the rules again. Plus theres a graphic. Hurray! Hopefuly this will streamline the process of rehabilitating spam. --Zaruthustra 22:10, 26 Nov 2005 (GMT)
- Is this really appropriate for the main namespace? I think it would work better under Suggestions, like so: Suggestions/Spaminated. --Lucero Capell 00:43, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Meh. --Zaruthustra 03:03, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
- Methinks this is the step in the right direction. Maybe if we stomp on the noobs harder, they will post better, non-duplicate suggestions.
- ...or they'll just leave, but the net result will still be less bad suggestions, plus (most importantly), it's fun fun fun! - KingRaptor 05:17, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
See! This guy gets it! --Zaruthustra 08:26, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
It's brilliant!
Someone give these boys medals. Its high time someone stood up and said "Hey. Quit being retarded noobs, and make some well thought out suggestions.". Of course, then we wont get the laughs. How i'll miss the laughs of the people, chewing on the horribly annoying spam...But noobs suck. Vote Quimby.-Vladmyre 10:44, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
You guys, I'm counting on all of you. I made the page, but its up to you to see that it gets used. The current state of affairs is unacceptable. Things like this crap aren't getting spam deleted. We need to get to them before the carebears can vote kill. Say it loud, say it proud. Spaminated! --Zaruthustra 19:25, 27 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Just spaminated someone today. I rule. - KingRaptor 15:19, 28 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Spiced ham is not spam!
Let's be nice to our Hormel lovers and stop equating delightful spiced ham with stupid duplicated suggestions, okay? --LouisB3 17:53, 28 Nov 2005 (GMT)
So is it working...
...or do we need to treat the noobs more harshly? - KingRaptor 05:38, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Honestly, I dont think this page is (unusually) cruel. It gives constructive advice while ridiculing them. Win win. --Zaruthustra 15:16, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
M1 Abrams
Spaminated - 13. Suggestions created entirely for the purpose of satire, insult, or comedy are considered vandalism and treated appropriately by moderators. If you want to post a joke suggestion put it on the Humorous Page. --hagnat mod 02:56, 6 May 2006 (BST)
This suggestion did NOT get enoug spam votes. Indeed, it got more keep votes than anything else. I see this as a protest against stupid and biased votes. Dedicated human players vote kill on anything that doesn't help them, and that is bullshit. If the WIKI community wants to keep this suggestion, then it should be kept! -Certified=Insane 03:05, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- It was Spaminated because it is plainly a humourous suggestion - they need to be posted directly to the Humourous Suggestions page. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:07, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- i am not going to get into details here. If you want to complain, great, complain! But to not abuse the suggestion page mechanics to protest or just have some fun with your friends. Saromu's suggestion was an abuse of the suggestion page, was removed, and its creator warned as vandalism. I should warn all those who voted keep in there too, but they were only riding the fun M1 Abrams wagon. --hagnat mod 03:12, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- If that's vandalism, then shooting down suggestions without any real reason (other than: wait a minute, my character would be slightly less powerfull/less powerfull compared to others) should be too! I'm sorry, but i'm just disgusted by the last update. Even more disgusted when the suggestion of a zombie equivalent of (as much of a grifer as) Head Shot, which actually grieves less than it's precedor. If you think the game is balanced, or more advantageous to zombies for that matter, you are wrong. I have 1 scientist, one military that's part of a human group, and one zombie that's part of a horde, and let me tell you it's much easier for my survivors. They often can go months without dieing if i'm not careless. My scientist is maxed out on syringes, and he's doing fine and the little group he's with is reviving everyone that waits patiently outside. However my zombie has a headshot almost everyday, and beacuse of that lone headshot I usually only have time to crack barricades open and attack a little bit, not having a kill unless someone was badly injured, and he's a maxed out Z. Suggestion is here: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Suggestions/3rd-May-2006#Mutant_Viral_Strains
- I'm sorry but those kind of votes just fall on my nerves. I understand them, but do not respect them in the least bit. -Certified=Insane
- Take your drama elsewhere. It's not appreciated on public pages. Have a nice day. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:28, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- I doubt anyone but you mods check this page anyways, who cares. -Certified=Insane
- Correction, you care. Bite me, abuse your powers and delete this all if that's what you want. See if I care. -Certified=Insane
- You have me confused with a mod. I'm just a concerned wiki user. PS: If you have drama you wish to get off your chest, do it on your user page. Public pages aren't the place for it. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:34, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Man, you're part of Project Welcome? You might want to bring this up on Talk:Suggestions, Insane. There's already some talk about Spam Reform. --Punchkin 03:38, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Yes, I am part of Project Welcome. I was simply informing Insane that this isn't the place for drama. It's a friendly warning, designed to steer him clear of trouble in the future. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:41, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- *Sigh* You see, a long time ago we had trouble with Protest Suggestions, namely the Rocket Laucher suggestion created by Grim (who revealed the WCDZ to the world). After that, and several other humorous suggestions made to the main suggestions page, we voted a policy against this kind of suggestions, and decided to treat all those who made suggestions just for their humorous content as vandals. We may have not followed this policy all the time in the past, but there is no reason why i shouldnt follow it now. Now, please, if you want to complain, complain, but stop making a drama about this suggestion and my decision to warn saromu for it. --hagnat mod 03:43, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- This is completely retarded. hagnat obviously did the right thing in moving this to Humorous, where it should have been in the first place. Correction: hagnat did not move the suggestion, making this protest against his perceived tyranny even stupider. furtim 03:44, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Yeah I created it as a joke. But I was told by someone that you post them in regular suggestions and then when the vote is done it get's moved to humorous. Saromu 03:45, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- That person was wrong. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:46, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Obviously. Saromu 03:47, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Yeah, but that's no reason to harsh on Saromu for it. He admits he made a mistake. furtim 03:47, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- *ignoring furtim's comment, says* In future, when someone tells you something to do with wiki rules, check the rules. Saves a whole lot of hassle. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 03:49, 6 May 2006 (BST)
- Yeah but I don't live in fear that people give bad advice all the time. I took the advice, it was bad, I learned a lesson. Saromu 03:59, 6 May 2006 (BST)

Overspamination?
I've just came back, been gone since the end of June, and it appears every day all the suggestions are spaminated. Are there new rules, stricter rules, or are the suggestions just all plain stupid? -Certified=InsaneUG 02:55, 10 August 2006 (BST)
- Spam vote abuse has gotten worse. That's basically it. There have been a bunch of bad suggestions, quite a few are unfixable, but many should have just been killed. --Darth Sensitive W! 03:09, 10 August 2006 (BST)
Suggestion
Noticed the "Author Removed" template and thought it would be nice to have something similar for "Spaminated" items. (And the other main rejection catagories.) Any Takers?—The preceding Template:Wikipedia comment was added by Gene in CMH (talk • contribs) .
Can't find this page
I was thinking that perhaps this page should be made easier to find. I don't see a link to it anywhere in the suggestions area, except when a vote is spaminated. How about having the search term "spam" redirect to here? I would do this redirect myself but (1) I'm not sure how and (2) I'm not sure if there is a reason this hasn't been done already.--Pdeq 23:42, 8 August 2007 (BST)
- I have now made this redirect. If there is any reason it should not redirect here, please discuss on this talk page. --Pdeq 22:14, 13 August 2007 (BST)
