The engine is running and in good condition. The gas tank is full.
Somebody has spraypainted abandon onto a seat.

- You lie to Ross. It didn't matter which direction, they're all equally unknown because you have no idea where your bearing is in relation to the proper border exit. Nor does Ross, there are exits interspersed along the border wall but he couldn't possibly know which one is cleared and open. So, Ross believes you, and you believe yourself.
The two-vehicle convoy of sorts stops by the metal retractable door, the brakes making a high-pitched whine just before the stop. The proceeding silence is uncomfortable. You had expected, perhaps along with the others, to find the common tell-tale banging and groans that would accompany the brain-thirsty horde waiting right outside.
