End of an Era

Notice: Saturday 4th October 2008

The Malton Defense Corporation has become the latest victim of the Global Credit Crunch. Our creditors have withdrawn all funding and as such our operation in Malton has been halted. All employees are given the redundancy package according to their contracts and will be receiving their final paychecks within the next two weeks. Management at the MDC regrets to inform all personnel that this was an unavoidable decision based upon the recent productivity downturn amongst all areas of the company. We wish all our employees the best in finding employment elsewhere in Malton. I can certainly say that membership with the MDC has been a brilliant experience for me and I have met many great people through this. Without these people the MDC and UD as a whole would not have lasted as long as it did, and for that I thank you. However the constant drop in active membership has led us to become a sporadic roaming band - even the hardliners have not been posting much over the past two months and as such last orders have been called and the bar is closed. Thank you all for making UD interesting. I shall likely continue to play sporadically so you may see me around. I do not know how many of you are still active in game as I have only seen one MDC member in the past 2 months in Y-town. If you continue to play, good luck and have fun. The MDC is gone after a long and glorious history. I wish all our past members, all 241 of them over the course of this group, good luck in everything you do in the future.

Brief History
Malton Defense Corporation, aka MDC, was initially founded by Smoked. After a year Smoked then gave leadership to Coldsteeel who founded the new forums. Leadership then passed to Master Guns who introduced several new policies which aimed to help the survivors in Malton. Master guns promoted Valantine to Co-Chief Executive Officer. Master Guns then retired from Urban Dead leaving command of the MDC to Valantine who restructured the group and implemented tactical operations and continued to run the Malton Defense Corporation for the rest of its history until Saturday 4th October 2008.
