Inactive
In Urban Dead, if you don't access your character for a certain length of time, they become inactive, with the following effects:
Hidden
If you don't log in for five days, your character becomes "hidden" and is no longer at risk; if you're in a strong safehouse when you leave, you should be okay. There's no way to disable a character immediately, though.
But any character that hasn't been logged in for more than five days is considered to have spent that time finding and reinforcing a place to shelter, and becomes "hidden", effectively disappearing from the game. They'll re-emerge if you log back in, but if you never use the account again, the character won't ever appear on the streets again.
- 5 Days
- Your character becomes hidden after five days, and is effectively no longer in the game for the purposes of the engine - you don't affect anything in-game, and neither can anything affect you, until you log back in and take action.
- A zombie that becomes idle while inside a building will always be placed outside the building when they next log in.
Missing in Action
From the Game News of the 24th of August 2007:
It's been a long quarantine, and a lot of the city's inhabitants are now missing in action. Members of your contacts list that haven't been seen in Malton for over a month are now flagged as such.
- 1 Month
- Your character becomes missing in action after a month, and is marked as such in the contacts list of anyone who has them added, by their name being struck through
like this. Other than notifying other people that you're no longer active, this has no effect.
Returning
When logging into an inactive character, they do not re-appear in-game until after taking an action, although they will no longer be marked as missing in action on other characters' contact lists. You can see the state of the building, the minimap, and events from up to 2 weeks (formerly 1 week) before becoming inactive, but no new events can be seen until the character is returned to action.
