i think it can depend on the context - right now malls are not subject to much zed activity for some reason - 2 weeks is appropriate.  if there were a mall tour roaming or something that would keep things more in flux - a week might be appropriate.  i think it's a judgment call. --[[User:Lardass|Lardass]] 02:25, 15 June 2007 (BST)

:I agree too. The overall situation should be taken into account, but also the old status. In particular I'm thinking of 'rebuilding', which is only going to be true for a couple of days - after that one of the other statuses would be more accurate. Similarly, 'safe' tends to stay true for long periods, and people update from safe -> under attack, say, much more than they just refresh the date on the report. For these reasons, I'd say that a fixed formula isn't appropriate, and it's best to have a vague guideline (a week or two, -ish) applied with commonsense. there... it took me some time... a lot of time... and a lot of edits to master, but the new mall information center is complete. I think that my work is finally complete now. Its really easy to update the info about the malls now, and that info is displayed here AND in that mall's page. :Hurrr... before gage removes the Caigar Mall status again... allow me to note what i had in mind about that... any mall that managed to survive a siege would have been able to claim 'caigar mall' status, as a prize for surviving the zombie hordes. While, yeah, he started this page, i think this is not the place for this kind of stuff, since this is *NOT* a group, therefore it isnt the place for a logo or slogan. I just had an idea: Why not start a mall radio frequency? You know for survivors to hear whats been happening with the malls _right there in their safehouses_ before going to get equipment? May I make a suggestion to your zombie levels.
*Blue: Safe---- For malls with less than 10 zombies outside. This has Smile Face
*Yellow: Warning---- For Malls with Zombies numbering between 10 and 50. This has Smile Face holding gun.
*Orange: under attack---- For malls with zombies numbering between 50 and 100. This has Smile Face holding two guns.
*Red: under siege---- For Malls with zombies Numbering between 100 and 150.  This has Smile Face with grim look and holding shotgun
*Purple: KILL ZONE: For malls with zombies numbering above 150 or for when area of the mall has been ransacked. This has Smile Face Screaming, holding shotgun and surgeon.
*Black: Zombie Infestation: There are over 50 zombies inside. This has Zombie face with blood dripping out of mouth.
*Gray: Zombie Horde: There are below 50 zombies inside. This has Zombie face.
*White: Rebuilding: Rebuilding. This has Smile Face with hard hat.

:Generally, high PKer activity is not included in safety statuses. Because the place still is available for scrounging, and because revives are not THAT hard to come by... However, it can be noted in the text descriptions. And in the event of MAJOR and sustained PKer attacks, sometimes it's valid to adjust the safetly levels accordingly. Can we (or I) add a line to the page, just above the reports, which says something along the lines of: "The reports on this page are accurate to within 14 days. Some reports will be invalid from [14 days after earliest report]. Users are encouraged to update these statuses with the 'unknown' status." If users updated it each time they visit and change the statuses to unknown for those 14 days old or more. It could keep things running more smoothly, I feel.
