"If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all".
The Dastardly (Un)Lives and Times of Francis Rothburn
It all began in August. I don't remember much about the time before that, except that I was living and breathing. I don't remember how long I was dead for or what prompted me to get off my concrete bed. All I remember is a burning hunger dwelling in parts I cannot conceive of. I arose as one of the damned in Lukinswood and headed toward the shiny thrall of Havercroft and the bastion of the Ackland mall.
I wasn't greeted warmly, by human or zombie, and spent much time struggling to survive. Yet, with each bite and bullet wound, I grew stronger and more self-sufficient. Someone pulled me out of the nature I was growing to appreciate and mortality suddenly became my bane. I instantly sought undeath to comfort and console me. Yet, as I terrorized other humans, an emptiness grew in me.
Dave ZS found me as I pounded on the walls of Ackland and gave me life yet again. This time I seized the opportunity and used my new life to adapt to the threats of humans and zombie killers. I was unaccustomed to the rigors of breathing and hiding. The streets were no longer my friends and an infection raged within my blood. It took several attempts to make living last more than a day or two.
By now, I had learned some tricks of the trade and decided to help others as they struggled through the same trials I had. I wandered far, trying to apply my talents as needed. However, I made no impact in the worst areas of Malton and undeath was my only reward. I ventured back to familiar territory, accompanied by my trusty axe, and began to learn the secrets of Necrotech.
I quickly learned that not all zombies appreciate the delicate, scientific nature of bringing the re-departed back to their senses. The numbers of the revived and the executed began to blur together, but a new purpose calls to me now. North Blythville has become too unfriendly to my mission and I must now seek greener pastures. Yet, as memories of my former life and the tenets of Barhah mingle in my mind, I am unsure of where to go next.
I eventually decided to head back to Havercroft and I finally set my eyes upon the interior of a non-ruined Ackland Mall...
