A Typical Nerf. The syringe nerf occurred when Necrotech embedded all syringes in Nerf products, making it 10 AP to pick apart the foam and remove them.

A nerf is something that effectively minimalizes (or even eliminates) an item or skill's effectiveness.

The most recent example of this would be the increasing of AP cost to revive a zombie using a syringe from 1 AP to 10 AP. Although it did not eliminate the presence of revivifications in the game, it made them more difficult, which caused many players to stop reviving due to the cost.

However, "nerf" can be a very subjective term used by one person to describe an in-game mechanic or suggestion.
